Chapter Ninety-Four
Alex’s POV:
“She’s right over there, she’s having a little nap,” I turned, and I saw Fiona tired with a rope, her eyes were closed.
“What the fuck did you do to her?”
“Nothing yet. She is just heavily sedated.”
“We had a deal, Frank, you get me, and the money and you let her go.”
“I don’t want the money. How much do you think I’ll get for your wife on the black market?”
“Don’t go there, Victor!”
“I think I would much rather kill you and sell her.”
“I’m warning you, Victor.”
“Yes, that is you’re Charlie’s brother? Alright. I’m surprised I didn’t put two and two together sooner. How many of my men have you killed?”
“Not as many as I would like to.”
“Any last words Alex?” Victor asked.
Third Person’s POV:
Someone was behind with a long gun on the roof as he was well covered with black everywhere and a face mask. He shot the gun.
(Gunshot… gunshot)
Eleanor’s POV:
There was a knock on the door as I opened it and there were three guys in black standing.
“Let me guess. The Arnolds?” I crossed my arms.
“We are looking for Alex,” the last one spoke up.
“We all are honey. You better come in,” I ushered them in.
A Few Minutes Later
“So basically, he made a deal with the devil and now he’s gone in there without any backup.”
“Did anyone try tracing his phone?” Luca asked.
“You can’t trace a phone if it’s powered off,” Nick replied.
“No but we can trace it to the last location before the battery died, it might give us some idea of his whereabouts,” Jonas added.
“Alex only uses burner phones, they are untraceable,” Elliot chipped in.
“Of course, he does,” Luca rolled his eyes.
“What about his vehicle?” Jonas asked.
“He took my car,” James replied.
“Have you got an anti-theft device fixed on it?” Jonas asked.
“I do,” James nodded.
“I can locate the car from that,” Jonas smiled and I took a deep breath.
“There is something you should all know,” I spoke up.
“What?” Nick asked.
“Fiona is pregnant,” I blurted out.
“What!” James screamed.
“Alex found a positive pregnancy test in her bathroom,” I explained further.
“As if the shit isn’t complicated enough,” Luca glared.
Alex’s POV:
Gunshot.
“Victor, get down,” Robo screamed as Victor and the rest shot back.
“Who the hell is shooting at us?” one of the guards screamed as the bullets kept on flying. I flung myself to Fiona as I laid on top of her protecting her.
She was still asleep; I could hear the fear in Victor’s voice.
He knows this could be the end for him, I want nothing more than to be the one to kill him, but Fiona has to be my priority now.
I came in unarmed and anyway, I have no gun. The only thing I can do is lie here and use my body as a shield to protect Fiona and my kid.
I try to listen for a heartbeat, but the sound of gunfire is deafening.
Who the fuck is attacking Victor and his men?
It can’t be the Arnolds; they will never have got here in time. This could be personal so whoever it could know that he was Victor, the enforcer.
They could shoot me and Fiona as soon as they are finished with Victor.
I need to find a way to get Fiona out of here.
“Ouch,” I heard Victor scream. He is hit. Please, let the son of a bitch be dead.
The gunfire stopped. I could hear my heartbeat pounding in my ears.
Is it over? I just laid there for what felt like hours, in reality, it’s only been minutes, maybe even seconds, and then I heard it.
Fiona began rumbling underneath me. She’s alive. I moved her quickly to untie her checking for any injuries.
“Are you hurt? Fiona, are you okay?” I asked.
“You took your damn time!” She glared.
“Can you sit up love?” She sat up as I hugged her tight.
“Damn Fiona, you scared the shit out of me,” I said sadly, hugging her.
“Because I asked to be kidnapped right?”
“I said don’t try to talk.”
“I’m quite capable of talking.”
“Don’t. I know it.”
“Alex?” She called out slowly as I heard footsteps walking closer to us.
“Yeah?”
“There’s someone behind you,” she whispered.
“Relax, I was only here to execute a hit. Now it’s done. I’ve got no grievances with anyone else,” the guy explained as I turned to him.
“You are the guy that took the hit?” I asked.
“I’m going to take a wild guess and say that you are the guy that posted it.”
Gun clicks…
Luca, Nick, and Jonas pointed their three guns at the guy.
“It’s okay. This is the guy that accepted the hit on Victor,” I explained as he turned to look at them and then laughed.
“Please, carry on. I never turned down a chance to go head-to-head with the Arnolds,” he laughed.
“You have got to be kidding me,” Luca screamed as the guy removed his mask and they brought down their guns.
“You mad fucker,” Nick laughed.
“When the hell did you start taking hits, Kyle?” Nick asked.
“I was bored.”
“Am I missing something?” I raised an eyebrow.
“This is my best friend Kyle, Andy’s brother,” Nick explained.
“I need to do this here,” I took a deep breath as I knelt and bought a ring from my pocket. I have been saving it there.
“Fiona, I know we are already married but I know I’ve not always been the best husband and I promise if you accept this ring, I’ll be the best father I can ever be. Will you go to the UK with me to start a new family?”
“God! How did you know about the baby?” She asked shocked as the Romanos and Kyle made funny noises at my back.
“Well, long story. But I did see the test tube. Fiona, it’s okay if you don’t…” I began as she rushed towards me and threw herself at me, kissing me deeply.
“I love you, honey,” she whispered into my mouth.
“I love you too, Fiona Harrington,” I replied.
“You two are disgusting,” Nick made a silly face as we all laughed.
