Chapter Eighty-Seven
Fiona’s Point of View:
“Looking for something?” I heard someone say.
“No, no,” I stuttered in fear as I turned to leave.
“Fiona Lawson,” he said.
“Are you leaving already?” He asked.
“I wanted us to have a conversation,” he added.
“I do not think I would want to have a conversation with you,” I said.
“And why have you been following me around?” I asked him.
“This is not the first time you’ve harassed me,” I said.
“Are you stalking me?” I asked as I got closer to him.
“Oh Fiona,” he said.
“I just want to make sure you are okay, and we will probably become friends,” he told me.
“Pardon my manners,” the man said.
“I am Damian,” he said, stretching his hands at me as he introduced himself.
“Okay,” he said as he tucked his hands into his pocket, and I ignored him.
“So, what are you doing here Fiona?” He asked me.
“You look like you are searching for something important here,” he added.
“Or did you lose your precious earrings or necklace?” He asked again, giggling.
“What do you have there?” He said as he snatched my phone.
“Give that to me,” I said as I tried to take my phone back.
“Oh, how courageous,” he said as he glanced through the phone.
“So, you came here to find out about your father and Victor Harrington’s business all by yourself?” He said giggling.
“Are you not scared of him knowing that you came here to uncover what he had kept hidden for years?” Damian asked again as I maintained silence.
“I was also a part of this scheme, but he was soon disposed of by Victor Harrington long before he took his plans out on your father,” he told me.
“I know you are trying to bring Victor Harrington to his feet, but you cannot do that alone, Fiona,” the man said again.
“This is my business card,” he said, handing over a small piece of paper to me.
” You can call the first number there when you need my help,” he said as he gave me a piece of paper and my phone.
“I hope to see you soon, Fiona,” he said and walked away.
I saw a hallway immediately, so I walked down to see what was there.
Then I saw a logo that was familiar with what I had, but then the stretch had dangerous-looking men.
“Oh my God,” I muttered.
“I hope I get out of here safely,” I muttered as I walked.
“What do you think you are doing?” Someone said as they pulled me aside.
“What are you doing?” I asked angrily.
“Damian or whatever you call yourself. I need you to get out of my way immediately,” I ordered him.
“I would have done just that, but it seems you want to get yourself killed,” he told me.
“What? How?” I muttered.
“These men you see here have been employed by Victor Harrington to protect this place,” he explained.
“I know you are trying to play your cards the smart way, but you need to be smarter here,” Damian said.
“Imagine he came to discover that you were trying to deceive him and his child. He would be so mad, huh?” he added.
“Why are you saying gibberish?” I asked him.
“And who told you that I am deceiving my father-in-law and my fiancé?” I asked him to be defensive.
“You cannot lie to me, Fiona,” he said.
“I have known you long enough even before you met me,” Damian added.
“Go home immediately before your plans get ruined,” he said and left.
I followed quietly behind and immediately left and went back to the office.
“Fiona,” Uncle Victor called.
“Yes Uncle,” I replied, sorely afraid.
“You came back earlier than I thought,” he told me.
“Yes Uncle,” I said.
“I got what I wanted as soon as I arrived,” I said.
“Okay, get back to work now,” he said as he left.
“Phew!” I signed.
“I thought that my game plan was up already,” I told myself as he left.
Uncle Victor’s Point of View:
Everything still feels stagnant and threats from the board of directors increase every day.
“I would never watch my business crumble before me,” I told myself.
“Even if it does, not in my lifetime,” I said.
“Alexander,” I called.
“What do you have for me?” I asked him.
“Not much dad,” he told me.
“I have only gathered a little,” he added.
“For how long would this take you?” I asked, devastated.
“Okay,” I said.
“Tell me what you have got,” I replied.
“Here,” he said as he gave me a piece of paper.
“That is the CEO of the company,” he explained.
“I could not get enough information, but I was told that he is a very tough person and a hard nut to crack,” Alexander said.
“His workers are loyal so that they would not betray the company for anything,” Alexander added.
“Not as loyal as you think,” I said, giggling.
“This is a little bit impressive, Alexander,” I said as I patted him on the back.
“We would surely infiltrate that place and the so-called loyal workforce,” I told him.
“What are you going to do dad?” Alexander asked.
“Leave that to me,” I told him.
“Eric… I need you to come to my house immediately,” I told him over the phone.
Eric was at my house in no time and so directed me to the job I had for him immediately.
“Take this photo,” I handed it over to him.
“By tomorrow, I need the entire city to view this man and his company in a bad light,” I instructed him.
“The company especially… you need to be smart about it,” I told him.
“If you need anything, you can call me,” I said and hung up the phone.
“Let us see who the boss in this business is,” I said, smiling mischievously to myself.
I waited peacefully for the next day, because that would certainly be the end of my problem, I thought.
“Boss!” Eric called to me next.
“I hope you have got good news for me,” I asked him.
“No boss,” he replied.
“Our plans got busted,” Eric told me.
“What!” I said.
“How did you let that happen?” I asked him.
“I was caught,” he replied.
