Book:One Night Stand Published:2024-5-1

~Maya’s POV~
I don’t understand why I am this angry; it seems to be permeating every part of my being. I simply want to find a quiet spot in the woods where I can let all of my emotions out. Although I am aware that he had a life before I came into it, I never imagined that I would have the opportunity to witness something like that. Even though he is my husband, the thought of slapping that gorgeous face of his right now makes me want to cry. Zion is currently a challenge for me that I just can’t seem to overcome. I really can’t face him right now. I reached into my bag and pulled out a tissue, then wiped my eyes with it to dry the tears. I was unable to stop the tears from falling, and I also did not want Zion’s family to see my face in that state when I returned home. My eyes are swollen and bloodshot, and it takes my brain a few cycles of blinking to register how wretched I look. An excessive number of feelings collide with one another in a too widespread manner. I can’t fathom what is going on. First Kelly, now there is another woman kissing him in front of me. All this bliss isn’t for me. I turned my head and noticed a lovely park, and the thought occurred to me that I would benefit from going for a stroll in the park.
“I’d really appreciate it if you could take me to the park, Lucas. I need to take a walk.”
“I do not believe that to be a secure environment for you, my lady. You are only getting acquainted with the city. You might get lost.”
Don’t be concerned; once I’ve regained my composure, I’ll give you a ring and ask you to pick me up at this same location.

After witnessing her husband kiss another woman in front of her and having a run-in with Kelly Martins, Lucas could tell that Lady Archer was in desperate need of some space and quiet to collect her thoughts. Then, Lucas got out his phone and dialed Lord Archer’s number to inform him that Lady Archer had declined to return home and instead desired to go for a stroll in the park. After Lord Archer’s approval, Lucas decided to depart. Maya took a stroll in the park and noticed several homeless people dozing off beneath the branches of the trees. Some individuals may be seen soliciting donations throughout the park. She went in search of a bench where she could sit and think about everything that had happened earlier in the day. She came upon a young girl peddling bouquets of flowers. Maya decided to buy some white lilies for no apparent reason and so she withdrew some money from her wallet to do so. The girl was between 9 and 10 years of age. Maya saw that the girl’s lips were chapped after she had collected the lilies from the girl. It appeared as though the girl had gone a very long time without eating anything. She didn’t want to ask the girl when was the last time she had something to eat because she didn’t want her to feel embarrassed. Therefore, Maya pulled out one hundred dollars and handed it over to the young lady.
“Do yourself a favor and get something to eat,” Maya told the girl,
“Thank you very much, ma’am. Thank you so much. ” The child then started whimpering and crying. Maya gently cradled the young lady’s face in her hands.
“Hey, don’t call me ma’am, call me Maya.” She had grown weary of formality. Her employees in J-City always address her as ma’am or Lady Archer, while the rest of the world refers to her as just Lady Archer. Today she wanted to be called something different: just Maya.
“Thank you, Maya.” Maya gave the young lady a clean flannel to wipe her face with. The girl had a lot of grime on her, but despite that, you could see that she had a lot of beauty.
“Okay, put an end to those uncontrollable sobs and grab yourself something to eat.” Maya had a strong desire to look out for the girl’s best interests since she had an overwhelming feeling of responsibility toward her. But then she brushes the thought away. Maya began to cry as she sat on the bench, and as she did so, images of her husband kissing another woman began to run through her mind. A woman approached her just as she was going to pull a tissue from her bag, and she wiped her tear while she was doing so. The cloth the woman used to wipe her tears was dirty, but Maya didn’t mind at all. She experienced something more akin to the love of a mother. Maya was perplexed as to why the unfamiliar woman’s touch could be so reassuring; she couldn’t fathom how a complete stranger could have that effect on her. Maya was greeted with a warm embrace by the woman who sat adjacent to her. Maya didn’t give a hoot about the fact that she was wearing fancy clothes or that after the woman finished hugging her, Maya would smell whatever scent the other woman was wearing. She cuddled up to the woman and eventually fell asleep on the woman’s lap while she was cradled there.
