SOLICIT FOR ME
Maria froze in her tracks and Genevieve on the other hand doesn’t look so pleased by the sight before them even though Reid knew not who were behind him.
Gen smiled at Maria as though nothing was going on before she walked into the elevator as she cleared her throat, causing Reid to come back to his reality.
“You’re getting off on this floor, right?” Gen asked Reid who looked as though he could beg for the elevator floor to swallow him in.
He hurriedly unwrapped his arms from the lady as he saw Maria who uttered not a single word to him nor did she move.
“You should step out now, don’t you think? Though, i’m not so pleased by this,” Gen whispered to Reid who still had his eyes fixed on Maria.
He stepped out of the elevator and so did the lady who smiled at Maria.
“Thank you,” the lady said to Reid with a slight bow before walking off but Reid did not spare her a glance before she left. His eyes were fixed on Maria with a look that says I hope you to not misinterpreted this, Maria. It was just a simple act of kindness. But clearly, he could see that Maria has misquoted the whole situation.
“Bye, Maria,” Gen said and Maria prompted out of her reverie and then, the elevator door chimed close and so did Maria walk away, leaving devastated Reid.
With a frustrated ambience, Reid tucked his well-manicured nails in his hair, hitting the wall with his fist which could bust if he attempted that again.
He walked behind her and soon caught up on her before she walked into her apartment. He grabbed her wrist, pulling her gently to gave her.
“Maria,” he called softly as if treading gently on broken glasses.
“Yes,” she answered nonchalantly with a face that do not actually give a fuck.
“I wasn’t doing anything with her,” he said, pointing at the direction the lady walked in. “She had this elevator trauma and needed me to pull her into my embrace and that I did nothing more. I promise!” he explained with a pleading look on his face.
He doesn’t necessarily need to explain to her or care if she misquoted it all or not but he honestly didn’t what her going about with the thought of him being a manwhore. But her look held no emotion. Not even of anger nor of hatred. She just stared at him with no words slipping out of her mouth.
“Alright,” she declared as she slowly released her wrist from his grip causing Reid to look down at his hand with a broken heart.
“She didn’t accept my explanation,” he thought.
“It’s alright, Reid,” she said again with a smile that was neither obvious to be genuine and not genuine. Soon, the smile was replaced by a look indescribable to him before she walked away from him. He stared hard at her retreating back and gradually, his eyes went down to her butt that jiggled effortlessly in the skirt she wore.
“Oh God!” he muttered under his breath as she locked the door to her apartment.
“What she mad at me? But she has no expression of anger on her face. Was she just exhausted from the day’s work? But she didn’t step out today. What was going through her mind and in her head,” he thought for a while with his hands rested on his waist before finally walking inside.
He wasn’t the type to give a fuck about anyone and Maria was inclusive but gradually, he found himself wanting to include his life in hers. He found himself slowly giving a shit about what she thought of him and as to that, he didn’t want any misconceptions. He wanted to deal with her on a clean slate with no flaws at all. He was gradually without his intentions, letting his guards down.
He had spent the whole two weeks intentionally apart from her. He didn’t want to run into her coincidentally as he doesn’t know how to react at the sight of her but it was all a facade that he hid behind.
Maria rested her back on the door with no particular thoughts on her mind. She doesn’t know how to feel about him. The way he seem to care about her thoughts, about her feelings, about things that doesn’t make him flinch.
What was she meant to do? Was she meant to accept his feelings for her and go through the same thing his lawyer had put her through? She sighed heavily before walking off to bed.
“It was time to rest!” she said to herself as she laid on her bed, pulling the duvet to her chest before saying her little prayer.
“Jesus, take the wheel. I need not stress myself on all of this. I leave it all to you,” as she said the last words, her body reasoned with her brain and conjoined with her eyes.
Slowly, she drifted off to sleep.

Reid felt a sharp pain in his left eye as he flickered it open. He turned lazily in bed before sitting up and rubbing gently on his hurting eye, causing him to groan at the pain he felt.
He yawned before walking to the bathroom to take a pee when he heard his front door chimed open. It was a Saturday and on this day, he usually do not expect anyone at his place but now, he needed to find out who has the passcode to his place.
“Reid,” Des called as he looked around the house.
Reid walked to the living room and there, he saw his friends. Des, Tristan and Damien.
“What the hell are you guys doing over here!” he half-screamed. He hated it when his privacy is being invaded and right now wasn’t the time he needed their jokes.
“Come on. That’s no way to greet your friends,” Tristan answered with a smile causing Reid to smirk when he saw the look on Damien’s face.
He walked past them to the kitchen and they followed behind him.
“We need to visit the ranch. Or, since you lost the bet, I’d better put as, we need to visit the ranch that belongs to us all except you,” Tristan teased, laughing loud as he looked at Damien who was as well laughing.
Des looked at them and over at Reid who was obviously not having their shit anymore.
“He probably just doesn’t have the balls to walk up to her to start with. It’s not his fault, guys,” Des said causing Trustan and Damien to laugh more.
“You all need to get the hell out of my house this instant!” Reid yelled but they all laughed instead before walking to the sofa to sit like the three idiots. They were beginning to piss him. He looked distressed and frustrated and he regretted ever making the bet.
He walked over to them, disrupting their view from the screen as they held the controller to play ps5.
“What do you want from me?” he asked them again.
“We want you to man up once in your life and hold up to something. It doesn’t seem that bad. Is it?” Tristan said looking over at them.
“We all know how bad you tease us whenever we don’t don’t act up to the deal,” Des added. He seem to be taking his side but slowly he was slipping away to Tristan and Damien’s side.
Reid tiredly slumped into the seat beside them, resting his head in his palm.
“So now, you want me to go on with the bet? You want me to gamble on a person’s feelings?”
“We want you to do like we always do. Man up and get your game right towards Mary or what’s her name again?”
“Maria,” he corrected.
“Yeah, Maria. Man up to her and play your part of the bet!” Tristan added.
He heaved a deep sigh as he looked over at them with uncertainty.
“I’m not sure, guys,”
He wasn’t the type to stomp in a situation like this but to him, Maria was more. Much more in a way that he couldn’t explain nor could she comprehend.
“Yeah, we’re sure. We’re sure, Reid,”
“I’ll do it. I’ll get down with Maria before the end of the month,” he affirmed and they jubilated, laughing out really loud.
“Hey, guys,” they froze in their stance and the feminine voice that interrupted them.
They turned around and looked over at her and Reid’s eyes nearly fell of their socket as she saw Maria dressed causally in a tiny hand jumpsuit that was right on her waist, accentuating how thin they were and lose on her hips, hiding how hige they were.
“Hey, Maria,” Reid said and the guys murmured underneath, starting holes into her.
“I promise, I didn’t mean to interrupt anything or invade you all. The door wasn’t shut,”
“It’s fine, gorgeous. Come sit here,” Tristan said, pulling her gently to sit with him.
“I brought this pie,” Maria said and instantly, the guys like her.
While they all were mesmerized by her beauty, Reid was scared and in his heart, he prayed that Maria hadn’t heard anything.
