“Lex, your phone is ringing!” Casandra called out, summoning Alexander who was changing clothes in the bathroom.
“Lex!” she called again, as Alexander didn’t come out. Seeing Alexander’s phone still ringing, Casandra grabbed it and brought it to the bathroom.
“Lex, it’s your phone ringing!” Casandra called out once more, knocking on the bathroom door.
“Who’s calling?” Alexander finally spoke up.
“There’s no name, but it has been ringing three times in a row,” Casandra replied.
Alexander, who was busy rinsing the soap off his body, fell silent for a moment, trying to recall if he had any appointments with someone.
“Try answering it and tell them to call me back later,” he instructed.
“Alright, Lex.” Casandra prepared to slide the green logo to answer the call.
“Hello, good afternoon,” she greeted.
Silence. There was no sound coming from the other end.
“Hello, good afternoon? Is someone there? Um… sorry, Alexander said to call back later,” Casandra spoke as there was no response from the caller. The phone screen went dark, so she ignored the call.
“How is it, Cas?”
“There was no sound, Lex.”
“Oh, alright then. In that case, could you bring me a dry towel? My towel fell.”
“Sure, Lex. Just wait a moment.” Casandra grabbed a towel she had hung not far from the bathroom.
Instead of handing it over, Casandra entered the bathroom as she couldn’t resist nature’s call.
“Lex, can I use it for a moment?”
“Just come in. Put the phone there on that beam above the bathtub,” Alexander pointed to a beam nearby.
Casandra nodded, lifting her skirt and pulling down the final piece of clothing below.
“Are you still feeling unwell?” Alexander asked, while drying himself off.
Casandra mengalihkan tatapannya ke arah lain. Pipinya bersemu merah melihat Alexander yang tak canggung polos di hadapannya.
“Uhm… that’s…”
“What is it?”
Alexander wrapped a towel around his waist. Seeing Casandra flustered, he playfully teased her, stepping closer and guiding her to stand up. Luckily, Casandra had finished everything, including cleaning up.
“Um… Lex, I want…”
Casandra was startled when Alexander reached for her waist, closing the distance between them and kissing her lips.
“Still hurt or not?” Alexander whispered. His intention was to playfully tease, but it was misunderstood by his beloved sister. She squirmed, craving Casandra’s touch.
Casandra shook her head, her hand gripping the edge of the bathtub, taking a defensive stance in case Alexander attacked.
And everything that Cassandra had suspected was true. Alexander leads him to turn around. Lifting the skirt she was wearing. Within seconds her and Alexander’s skin touched each other. “Lex,” groaned Casandra, as Alexander got impatient. The man just barged in, stomping so deep. The stronger Cassandra’s grip on the edge of the bath was getting stronger. “We bathe together,” said Alexander, removing the clothes attached to Casandra’s body. As a form of preparation for fighting in the bathroom. And it looks like Alexander will add a bathtub to his list of home renovations, so he won’t have trouble “playing” in the bathroom.
Moans and sighs echoed in the small bathroom. Luckily, the workers were busy outside, or they would have heard the arousing sounds. Alexander’s passion was so intense, like a wave crashing upon Cesilia’s heart, leaving it sliced and soaked with acid as she heard how tenderly he spoke to Casandra.
While Casandra enjoyed their intimacy, Cesilia’s attempt to contact Alexander using a new phone number resulted in a painful slap. The call ended up being answered by Casandra, with Alexander’s permission, while Cesilia, after six years of marriage, had never been allowed to receive any calls from her own husband’s phone.
Her body froze as she heard Alexander’s playful voice from the other side. Her hairs stood on end, imagining how Alexander treated her when they were together, a warmth that had now been replaced by the man currently lying exhausted on the bed after their recent lovemaking.
Cesilia ended the call upon hearing Alexander say, “Let’s shower now,” three words he had also said to her.
Cesilia’s smile turned bitter as she looked at her phone screen, noting that nearly twenty minutes had been spent by Alexander in the bathroom with Casandra.
Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes tightly, haunted by the image of herself asking Alexander to marry again. She should have known that when her husband married and had a child with another woman, there would be such processes.
Processes of merging and seeking pleasure with his new wife, regardless of whether she was a rich woman’s child or a maid like Casandra. Alexander had to physically deliver a part of himself into the woman’s body.
Cesilia was sure that Casandra, a naive village girl, was still pure and intact. It was no surprise that any man would enjoy such an experience. Just like any normal man, Alexander felt the same way. And Cesilia should have considered this before asking Alexander to remarry.
In reality, what did she expect? Ignoring the future, Cesilia nonchalantly asked Alexander to marry again, no longer serving her husband as she should. So, what would Cesilia demand? She caused the catastrophe in her own marriage.
On the other hand, Casandra appeared plain and unremarkable, just an ordinary girl from a remote village, a stark contrast to Cesilia, a famous model.
They were different not only in appearance but also in taste. Cesilia liked to dress fashionably, barely covering her body. In contrast, Casandra preferred loose clothing, with most of her wardrobe consisting of long skirts, long-sleeved shirts, or blouses.
Alexander thought about transforming Casandra according to her current status, the wife of Alexander Parkasa. She should be more elegant and fashionable, but without losing her true Casandra image.
After packing their things, they both got into the car and started the journey to a distant market, a trip that would take quite a long time.
During the journey, Alexander occasionally stole glances at Casandra sitting beside him, something he never expected to do. He used to think that he would only be accompanied by Cesilia until they grew old and death separated them, with many cute and adorable children.
However, all those dreams had vanished. Cesilia was absorbed in her own world and introduced Casandra into their marriage. Alexander didn’t know if he should be grateful or not, but Casandra’s presence somehow relieved him from being ignored by his own wife.
“May I ask what you’re thinking right now?” Alexander inquired after a long silence. There hadn’t been any substantial conversation despite their journey.
Casandra nodded. “I’m not thinking about anything, really. I just want to live my life according to the fate that has been written for me. I also hope to find happiness and that my father will recover soon. It’s been a long time since he has been suffering from illness, and now he finally receives proper treatment,” she replied honestly, speaking about her current situation.
If only Alexander had not married her, he would never have been able to afford to take his father to the hospital. Let alone undergoing surgery like now, sometimes Casandra had to endure hunger to save on expenses until her mother received her salary.
Sometimes Lastri even relied on advances rather than receiving her full salary each month. Alexander just smiled, not wanting to discuss too much about his father-in-law; it didn’t feel right. He didn’t want Casandra to bring up how she managed to afford her father’s operation. Alexander didn’t want Casandra to feel offended, thinking that the treatment was a payment for their marriage, as requested by Cesilia.

“Miss, how are you?” A woman greeted Cesilia at the other end of the call.
“I’m fine, Rin. What’s up?” Cesilia replied, forcing her eyes to open. She had just woken up after taking a tranquilizer, and the sound of her phone startled her and gave her a headache.
“It’s about this, Miss. Earlier, Alexander asked me to look for a jewelry set, and he has transferred the down payment. As usual, I will send you the pictures, and you can choose. I’m afraid I’ll be scolded if the model doesn’t match what you want.”
“Alexander ordered jewelry through you?” Cesilia raised her eyebrow, remembering the upcoming event, considering Alexander ordered jewelry. Not just any jewelry, but a full set adorned with diamonds as he desired.
“Yes, Miss. I will end the call, and I’ll send the pictures shortly.”
Cesilia didn’t respond. She let the call end, followed by several images and prices of the jewelry. Her heart suddenly raced, guessing why Alexander ordered such jewelry.
“Sweetheart, one hour left for the photoshoot. Please pack up!” Maxime’s voice greeted Cesilia, prompting her to hastily pack up as instructed by the man.
