“What’s your name? Don’t cream my corn.”
Aubree heard his voice and felt some of nervous.
The man falling on the ground also raised his head to see the one standing in front of him and said respectfully, “Mr. Hendrix Elliott, it’s not my fault. The bitch stepped on me first. You see her high heels hurt me badly?”
With his words, Aubree was some of embarrassed to cover her high heels with her dress which was not long enough to make it.
Luckily, Hendrix did not turn back, instead, after a couple of seconds, he kicked that man one more time and said, “You are the fucking son of bitch!”
The man was kicked one more time and everyone around him was laughing. He felt humiliated and stood up angrily, “Boy, you are the boss of the bar, but don’t think you can do everything you like! Everyone in our circle knows me; you are too young to talk with me! If you still acted like this after growing up, you will go dead for sure!”
He stared at Aubree and spitted to Hendrix, then left here.
Aubree got stunned to know Hendrix was the boss of the bar.
She learned that Riley and Hendrix were best friends; Riley should know Hendrix was here and was sure to know what happened between Hendrix and herself. Aubree did not understand why Riley did not tell her truth.
Why not let her know?
Hendrix turned around to see Aubree’s eyes. At the moment, he was overwhelmed enough to break down in his heart. He hated her too much, but still could not control his mind to meet her.
Aubree held her breath; she was afraid of breaking her old wound with her slight action. What if she started to bleed much now?
Just the second Aubree also got breaking down, Hendrix walked to pass her silently without saying a word.
Now Aubree felt much relieved to have a deep breath, at the same time, her eyes turned red.
Nobody understood what she was thinking about. Aubree hoped to go to make an apology to Hendrix…
She had only to take a faster breath and get calm down.
Aubree was not so excited as she was just here and sat back to have a look at her watch. It was almost eleven o’clock to go home.
Right now, Riley was back because Aubree had told him she had to go home before mid-night.
Riley expected Aubree to be dancing and asked, “You didn’t go dancing? Well, let’s go home.”
Aubree got into his car and said, “Hendrix is the owner of the bar. Why not tell me?”
Riley got stuck and answered her later, “You would not come if I told you.”
“Why do you let me come?”
Riley did not know what to answer; he could not tell her that Hendrix would like to meet her…
“You see? All the classmates joined the party. We had good time in school and will remember the time. However, all of us will be separated after graduation with no chances to meet together.”
Aubree knew Riley was telling a lie. But what he said was too reasonable to refute; she had to stop asking more.
Riley dropped her off at home and saw her leaving the car, only speechless.
Aubree saw Sidney’s car parked in the yard; she had to run back to the house.
When she was in the house nervously, she did not see Sidney or Everly.
“Uncle Sidney…” Aubree looked for him everywhere in the house, but nothing to find.
She felt something bad happened and got her mobile phone from her bag to see several missed calls from Sidney. She dialed his number as soon as possible; it was not answered.
Aubree was in panic to dial again.
Finally, somebody answered the call. But he was not Sidney, it was Steward.
He said in the call, “Miss Aubree, Master Sidney had a car accident and was sent to the First Hospital. Soon…”
