Aubree’s phone had a tracking app and Sidney arranged for some people to check all the taxis around the factory. They were finally able to bring Aubree home.
But because Hendrix was still at that location, she continued to tremble with unease. She felt exceedingly guilty and was at breaking point mentally!
200 million!
It was clearly sufficient for both of their lives and a word from Sidney would have settled it. But why wasn’t Sidney willing to save Hendrix? Why?
A few hours later Sidney rushed back in a private jet. Even he couldn’t explain why he was so anxious and flustered. At the living hall, he saw Aubree trembling fearfully and he walked over without hesitation to hold onto her. Not only did Sidney’s embrace not give Aubree any comfort, but it made her more fearful.
“Why? Why didn’t you save him?” Aubree sobbed and she suddenly couldn’t understand the man in front of her. She realized that she didn’t know him at all.
Sidney looked at Aubree’s eyes sparkle with the tears. This was the first time he saw the distance and coldness in her eyes which should have been filled with warmth and closeness.
He felt as though his heart was painfully stabbed as his delicate and elegant expression turned gloomy as if it was Satan who emerged from hell.
“You were traumatized. I’ll sleep with you tonight.” Sidney carried her and walked towards the bedroom without saying another word.
“Hendrix’s leg was broken by them because he wanted to save me! What about you? Other than giving them some money, what else did you do?” Aubree struggled as she cried while she pounded on Sidney’s chest and even bit his shoulder.
Sidney didn’t react to it.
He placed Aubree on the bed and then prepared the water for her to take a shower.
“Go and take a shower,” Sidney said emotionlessly.
“No! Hendrix is about to die!” Aubree threw a tantrum like a kid.
Sidney got furious and suddenly pressed his body onto Aubree. With both hands on either side of her, he stared fiercely at her.
“Aubree, I say again, go and take a shower!”
Aubree stopped crying and clearly heard his fury.
Sidney looked at the stunned girl. Her delicate and smooth skin glistened with the tears and shone through his eyes and right into his heart.
Strange feelings started to radiate and he swallowed his saliva while frowning and quickly got up.
He had almost forgotten that his girl had grown up.
“Shower and go back to your room.” Sidney turned and controlled his voice. At least it wouldn’t look like he had lost control. He hated to lose his self-control.
Aubree was worried about Hendrix as much as she was worried about angering Sidney. She was sandwiched and found it unbearable.
“Uncle Sidney… Hendrix!”
“Shut up!” Sidney finally erupted. Aubree kept mentioning Hendrix, Hendrix! She had never quarreled with him over anyone and now she was able to talk back at him because of some insignificant person!
Aubree was stunned. This was the first time she saw Sidney so angry. She also didn’t know why he was so angry…
She looked at Sidney’s black and dark eyes while her tears continued to flow. The more she thought of it, the more helpless she felt.
“You’ve changed, Uncle Sidney.” Aubree used her hand to wipe off her tears. She got out of bed and pushed Sidney aside. She ran out and slammed the door shut.
She couldn’t stand to see him for a second longer. Not a second more!
Now Sidney realized that he had really shocked her. He frowned. He never expected that he will lose control of himself in this manner!
He didn’t understand why he was so upset over a rascal who had nothing to do with him!
Sidney wanted to undo his tie in frustration but failed to do so after several attempts. Suddenly he raged and savagely kicked the door!
Damn it!
At this moment, Steward Martin rushed over. He had gone out of state to attend to some matters but before he arrived, he heard that Sidney flew back in a private jet that was undergoing maintenance. His total disregard for his own safety shocked Steward Martin.
“Master, are you alright?” Steward Martin asked out of concern. He knew that Sidney didn’t like others to show concern for him. But Sidney grew up under the watchful eyes of Steward Martin and he truly cared for him.
“The aircraft has gone for further inspection. This time you are fortunate that nothing happened. I hope that you are not so reckless in the future.”
“Martin, do you think that I’ve changed?” Sidney turned and looked very exhausted.
Steward Martin was startled and didn’t know how to answer.
“I will not forget my plans.”
He was expressionless and emotionless but his body radiated a cold chill.
“Everything is still being understood.”
As he finished, his eyes darkened as if they were two black precious stones, beautiful and yet frightening.
Steward Martin pursed his lips in silence and bowed slightly as he excused himself.
It was another sleepless night.
