Jason let go of her and smirked. “Didn’t you have a one-night stand? He’s still interested in you?”
Daisy bristled with anger, instantly standing up and pointing at him. “You old rogue… If I let you into my room tonight, I won’t be Daisy anymore!”
“Aren’t you my baby?” Jason teased.
“You…” Daisy glared at him and playfully kicked his chest.
“Baby, I’m just joking, don’t be mad.” Jason wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close.
“You call that just a joke? Really?” Daisy snorted.
Jason closed his eyes, and as expected, a few seconds later, her fists struck him.
Daisy vented all her anger and finally stopped.
“How did you like the wedding dresses today?” Jason asked, smiling as if nothing had happened just now.
“They were okay,” she replied, her expression still cold.
“You didn’t like them?” Jason inquired.
“No,” she said flatly.
“It’s alright. I’ve ordered different designs, and they’ll arrive soon. You’ll definitely like them,” Jason assured her, looking down and kissing her neck.
Daisy glared at him.
He smiled and said, “How about spending the night in my study?”
After all, she had just said she wouldn’t let him into her bedroom.
Daisy snorted, got up, and pulled him upstairs with her fingers. Jason bent over and breathed in the scent of her body.

Bump!
The door slammed open, and Monica, sitting on the sofa, turned back in shock.
The two people at the door were lost in a passionate kiss.
Penelope noticed Monica and quickly pushed Warren away, whispering, “Monica is here…”
He withdrew his hand from her shirt and looked towards the sofa.
“I didn’t see anything. I’m exhausted and need to sleep!” Monica paused for a moment, then rushed to the bedroom with her laptop.
“Our audience has left,” he smiled faintly, walked over to the door, and unlocked it.
Penelope jumped into his arms and asked with a grin, “What’s our next move?”
“What did you see at the restaurant?” He chuckled and led her to another bedroom.
“A lot of sweet kisses…” She whispered in his ear before the door closed firmly.

In the early morning, Penelope woke up. The small ten-square-meter bedroom was filled with familiar things. She looked at the man beside her, still peacefully asleep. For the first time, she didn’t feel bored. Even lying there without speaking to him brought her happiness.
However, as she thought about her unresolved problems, this happiness dwindled like a cellphone’s battery, slowly reaching zero. Penelope quietly got out of bed, pushed the door open, and went to wash up. She found Monica preparing breakfast in the kitchen.
“Can I have some too?” Penelope asked, giving Monica a quick glance.
Monica turned to her and inquired, “What about him?”
“He’s still sleeping,” Penelope replied.
“Is he tired because of you?” Monica grinned mischievously.
Penelope raised an eyebrow. “Can I tire him out? It’s obviously jet lag.”
“That means he’s really physically fit!” Monica remarked.
“Why am I even discussing this with you?” Penelope took a deep breath and headed to the bathroom. Monica just shrugged and smiled. She had heard things last night, so whether Penelope admitted it or not didn’t matter.
After breakfast, Monica went to school, and Penelope quietly pushed the door open and climbed back into bed.
Warren was still sound asleep as Penelope leaned in and softly spoke into his ear, “Honey, I’m going to meet a friend. You can keep sleeping. We’ll have lunch together at noon, okay?”
He opened his eyes, his voice low, and asked, “What time is it? Who’s this friend?”
“It’s nine o’clock, a female friend,” Penelope replied with a smile, leaning down to kiss his cheek. Her lips brushed against his beard, and she winced, saying, “Ouch.”
Warren smiled and closed his eyes again. “Alright. Give me a call later.”
Worriedly, Penelope kissed him on the lips. She thought to herself, ‘I didn’t mean to lie to you, but if you get upset, Chris and I won’t be able to stay by your side any longer.’

Later that day, Daisy sat across from Penelope, yawning and looking a bit tired. She crossed her legs and slouched on the sofa. “You called me yesterday and didn’t show up. And you’re asking me out so early today, I’m still sleepy.”
“I’m sorry, I had an emergency yesterday,” Penelope quickly explained.
Daisy took off her sunglasses and gave Penelope a once-over. “Is your postpartum recovery not complete yet?”
Penelope didn’t want to beat around the bush. She told Daisy about Ross’s shameless plan directly.
Daisy raised an eyebrow. “You’re getting married? Congratulations.”
“Ross insists he won’t divorce me. How can I get married?” Penelope asked through gritted teeth.
“That’s your problem. It doesn’t concern me,” Daisy replied, putting her sunglasses back on to cover her eyes.
Penelope expected this response, so she wasn’t surprised. She continued, “I just want to know, do you really love Jason?”
If Daisy were only with him for his money, Penelope would be furious. Daisy paused for a moment and didn’t immediately answer. She remembered the time when she was living in foster care. She wasn’t the only child in the home, so she had to be well-behaved and pretend to be a good and diligent child.
Even though Daisy’s adoptive parents treated her kindly, provided her with the best environment, sent her to school, and nurtured her talents in various ways, she often secretly imagined what her life would have been like if she hadn’t gone with them and had stayed with Penelope.
“Did you ever wish you went with my adoptive parents?” Daisy asked.
Penelope raised her eyebrows. “No, never.”
“Then my answer’s the same – never,” Daisy replied, straightening her back.
“I asked Jason, not your adoptive parents,” Penelope frowned, looking at her seriously.
Daisy smiled. “They’re the same. I’ve never regretted my choice.”
The two sisters had similar personalities. When they clashed, it only led to hurting each other.
“That’s good,” Penelope said, getting up and grabbing her bag.
“What will you do?” Daisy asked.
Penelope chuckled and turned to the person waiting for her outside for a long time. “I have to make up for my past mistakes.”
