Penelope’s figure appeared behind him. She was holding onto the wall, her thighs trembling. The unsympathetic doctor had asked her to climb down from the bed and leave on her own.
Warren didn’t have time to look at his son. He quickly reached out to support Penelope and asked softly, “Are you okay?”
Penelope shook her head. “I’m okay.”
The nurse said, “I will bathe the child first.”
Seeing the nurse leaving with their baby, Penelope pushed Warren quickly. “Catch up with her just in case she mixes up our baby.”
“Don’t worry. It won’t happen.” Warren hugged her and gently combed her hair soaked in sweat.
“I watched a TV series. The children of the poor and the rich were mistaken, and then they fell in love with the same girl twenty years later. It was scary.”
The doctors and nurses who hadn’t yet left the delivery room laughed. For the first time, they saw a mother who was still energetic after the delivery.
“Rest assured, he has a sign on his body, it can’t be wrong,” the doctor assured her.
“What sign? Can it prove that he is my child?”
The doctor gave her a lazy look and said, “If that type of mistake is made, our hospital will go bankrupt.”
Warren patiently appeased her and said, “Asher is outside, he will watch.”
“Then you, have you seen our baby?” Penelope asked and looked up.
“I didn’t see him clearly.”
“He was ugly. I didn’t know if he would become good-looking in the future,” Penelope shook her head and sighed. Then she held his hand and walked outside.
Warren said, “Newborns aren’t very good-looking.”
“But he was extremely ugly.”
“…”

In the morning light, the shadows on the wooden floor glimmered. The bedroom was quiet.
“Whaah…” The baby burst into tears, breaking the silence.
“Mom is here!” Penelope ran out of the bathroom. She was wearing a white shirt and slacks. Her hair was high combed, and her face was covered with water.
She picked up the bottle next to her and squeezed a drop of milk on the back of her hand. After feeling the temperature was right, she picked up the baby and then stepped back. She sat on a high stool, one foot supporting her arm and one foot extended.
“Baby Chris, you were really ugly.” Every time she picked up her son, she said this.
The baby, called Chris, drank milk but did not open his eyes.
Warren walked out of the bathroom with a clean look.
He picked up the camera and aimed at the most beautiful picture of the morning.
Snap.
Penelope immediately covered the baby’s face, “What are you doing?”
“I turned off the flash.”
“I didn’t say anything about the flash,” Penelope took her hand off and poked his face, “He was so ugly now; don’t keep this picture.”
He quieted for a while and said, “He was not ugly.”
“You didn’t have to lie.”
Chris stretched out his hands and waved a few times in the air.
Penelope grabbed his hands and stuffed them back into the little quilt.
He said, “Newborns aren’t beautiful, but it won’t last long.”
“It’s been three days, isn’t it long enough?” Penelope questioned. Then she bowed her face to Chris. “Such a soft and ugly baby…”
“Hey.” He raised his voice to tell her not to talk nonsense.
“I just said it. He made me suffer a lot, and he should personally make up for it.” Penelope said with a smile.
“He won’t make up for it for the time being, but his father can do it.” He walked over and picked up the kid who had finished his milk and patted his back softly.
“Then his father… how so?” Penelope smiled.
Warren raised his eyebrows and took Chris out of the door.
“Hey, you were so vindictive.” Penelope reached out and tried to catch up with him.

The gift Warren prepared for her was an offer for University. The classic college gate was printed on paper. The names of the students were all personally written by the professors of the English Literature department.
Penelope couldn’t help but burst into tears. “There is no major above. It depends on your own interests,” he said.
Penelope took a deep breath and said smilingly, “Thank you… I thought it would take a long time to achieve this step. I didn’t expect it to be so fast.”
She blinked and tried to block her tears.
Warren helped her wipe the tears on her cheeks. “Don’t cry.”
“I’m happy.”
She was really happy, only Chris’ birth made her happier than this.
When everyone went to college from junior high school without any delay, she was envious.
When Monica walked out of the library with her books, she was envious.
When the cheerleaders of the school community walked in front of her, she was envious.
After graduating from college, everyone had to get a diploma to find a job. When she worked, she had only one wish: that one day, she would go.
Going to college and doing the same thing as girls her age, she didn’t need to worry about her life and enjoyed the splendid years that she should have at that age.
“Chris, you were my lucky star.” She couldn’t help but bow her head to kiss her son’s forehead. Her tears dropped on his little face, and he looked at her, ignorant.
Warren held the back of her head and kissed her forehead. “He is your lucky star, but you are my whole world.”
Why were deep men more popular with girls?
That’s because once they were superficial, you would think that the whole world had been taken by yourself.
However, even if the “world” was biased towards her previously, having Warren as her man made her life changed abruptly.

Penelope awkwardly stood in the living room, watching Chris fall into the old lady’s “claw.”
“What is his full name? Have you decided?” Old Mrs. Duncan asked.
“Not yet,” Penelope was nervous.
No one had told old Mrs. Duncan that the child had changed from her great-grandson to her grandson.
“Where is Asher? Why is he not here? And why are you still living here?”
This series of questions flew like silver needles, and the needles were so tight that she couldn’t speak.
