Penelope felt very disgusted.
“Although my technique of suturing the wound is not bad, the scar can’t be avoided. Do you want one…?”
Penelope rolled her eyes, “How long is the scar?”
“It’s obviously visible. If you wear a bikini, everyone knows that you have given birth to a child,” the doctor said seriously.
Penelope scratched her hair. Although it was not embarrassing to have a child, she didn’t want her birth experience to be seen by others.
Warren said, “She can’t just wait like this. She has suffered a lot. Is there oxytocin in the hospital? Can she use it in this situation?”
Penelope’s eyes lit up. She leaned a few centimeters forward and almost touched the doctor’s face.
Warren pulled her into his arms.
“Is it okay?” Penelope asked eagerly.
The doctor glanced at her. “Are you sure you want to use it?”
“Only a fool wouldn’t use it!”
“Fine, let’s do another check.” The doctor stood up.
“Another check?”
“Nonsense, if we do not check your pelvis size and placental maturity, you cannot dare use it!” The doctor snorted and went out.
Penelope held Warren’s hand and looked at him nervously. “Am I really going to use it?”
At the crucial time, she still cringed.
She would rather endure for a few more days if something went wrong.
“You should believe in his medical skills, but also believe in me.” He bowed his head and gently kissed her forehead.
Penelope was a little excited and a little timid. “Our child is really going to be born?”
“You haven’t been anticipating it for a long time?” He smiled, rubbed her nose, and, with his relaxed tone, reduced her stress.
Penelope took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. She smiled at him and nodded seriously.
With his company, she really had nothing to fear.
The doctor checked her physical condition again to make sure that she was qualified. Then, he agreed to use oxytocin on her.
“Go back home, prepare, and come to the hospital tomorrow.” The doctor inserted the pen back into his front pocket.
“What should I prepare?” Penelope asked nervously.
The doctor paused for a moment, “Things for your childbirth.”
“The hospital won’t prepare for me?”
“The hospital only takes responsibility for the delivery, not everything,” the doctor glanced at her helplessly.
“So what do we need to prepare?” Penelope was a little puzzled. She had no experience, and no one had told her anything.
The doctor had never encountered such an amateur mother. The key was that he had never had to worry about these things, so he couldn’t tell her.
“Go home and ask your mother.” The doctor waved.
“My mother died when I was young,” Penelope licked her mouth.
“Then ask your mother-in-law.”
“I don’t have a mother-in-law.”
“She also passed away?”
Penelope glanced at Warren and quickly bowed her head, “I am not married yet.”
The doctor was stunned. It was the first time he had encountered such a situation.
Warren glanced at the doctor, and the latter pretended to turn over the case.
Warren pressed Penelope to the chair and said, “Leave this matter to me. You stay here for a while; I will be back soon.”
“Where are you going?”
“I’ll be back in ten minutes.” Warren touched her head, gave her a soothing smile, and opened the door to leave.
The doctor looked up cautiously. “What is your relationship with him?”
“Can’t you tell?” Penelope rolled her eyes.
“Why haven’t you gotten married yet?” The doctor dragged the stool to sit closer.
“You’re crossing the line.”
“I’m just asking. My days are long and boring when seeing patients all day.”
“Our relationship just doesn’t go that far. It’s nothing unusual.” Penelope felt her waist slightly ache. She did a chest-lifting exercise and straightened her back.
“Your baby is about to be born, but your relationship doesn’t go that far? Your progress bar is stuck,” the doctor sighed.
Penelope glanced at him, “Well, we are ahead of you. You don’t even have a girlfriend.”
“Eh-hem, I am busy with work.”
“I believe that you’ll find a girlfriend soon if you continue to wear this polo shirt.” Penelope smiled.
The doctor looked down at the polo shirt and said, “Is there anything wrong?”
“Nothing wrong, it looks good on you,” Penelope continued to smile.
“Hey, you can tell me if there is something wrong. Maybe I can’t find a girlfriend because of my clothes?” The doctor sat closer to her and asked.
Penelope raised her eyebrows, “Don’t overestimate yourself; clothing is only one aspect.”
The doctor took a step back. “I realize. You just want to retaliate.”
“Yes.” Penelope laughed.
The doctor blinked. “Do you know what will happen next if you offend the doctor who is in charge of delivery?”
Penelope took a deep breath and felt his sinister eyes.
Fine.

On the way home, the driver stopped at an emporium. Warren helped Penelope out of the car. The two entered together.
“Do you know what to buy?” Looking at the variety of infant products, Penelope felt a sense of oppression. She didn’t know where to start.
Warren took out his phone. A list of words was displayed in front of them.
Three major items: hospital necessities, maternal necessities, and baby necessities.
The following detail items in each category. It was very clear and comprehensive.
“Is this your secretary’s research?” Penelope looked at it in amazement.
“No, I researched on my own.”
“You asked?” Penelope looked up.
Just in the hospital, he personally went to ask the mothers and their family members on the ward. Then, he compiled a list.
In those ten minutes, she chatted in the office with the doctor. He listened carefully and took notes.
Penelope blinked, and her eyes were red. She reached out to hug his waist, burying her head in his arms.
“For every step in the future, I promise not to fall behind again,” he whispered in her ear.
When she was questioned by the doctor in the office, she also thought about why other people were surrounded by family members, but no one, except him, was always by her side.
So many occasions in life should be accompanied by parents: admission, graduation, dating, break-ups, marriage, children… So many occasions require parents.
At these times, she was alone, and she had to go through them alone.
Destiny was so unfair to her. She could be lying if she said she had no grievances or regrets.
But… he was so considerate and cherished. Even if there was only one person, he was better than many people.
