Penelope put her hand on his shoulder and said, “If I had met you earlier, it probably would have ended differently.”
“In any case, this is not our ending,” he replied. He lowered his head and kissed her lips. “For me, this is just the beginning.”
Penelope laughed. “How do you start?”
“I’m serious about pursuing you. After your careful consideration, you promised me. This is the end.”
“This is a script in your head?” she teased.
“This is our future.”
“I like this future,” she said with a smile.
“Then you stay here,” he looked at her, appearing as calm as usual, but his heart was beating fast.
Penelope shook her head. “I haven’t prepared to settle here. Everything is in New York.”
“I can wait for you.”
“How long can you wait?” she asked, smiling as she played with his tie.
“How long do you need?” he asked seriously, seeming ready to wait for a long time. She realized he wasn’t joking.
“I like you,” she reached out to hug his waist and listened to his heart with her ears, wishing for a moment to stay.
He pushed her away and said, “Go back to New York.”
“Will you miss me?”
“I won’t.”
Penelope paused. “Are you vengeful?”
“Yes.”
She refused to give him a chance, and he wasn’t willing to let her go easily.
Both of them felt a sense of sadness. Perhaps they could hold onto fond memories of each other.
Heading downstairs, she turned to look at him. “I’ll go.”
“Just go.”
After a few steps, she turned back, and he was still standing there.
“Won’t you miss me?” she asked loudly.
“No,” he replied.
Penelope stood still and didn’t move.
After five minutes, he took a step forward. When she noticed it, she rushed like a clumsy butterfly into his arms.
“Please come to New York to visit me,” she said in a sobbing tone.
He embraced her, his tall body covering her, like wrapping her entire body in his arms.
“Take care of yourself and wait for me.”
He might not admit it, but he would miss her and would stay with her in his heart.
One day, he would pick her up again from New York.
This time, it would be for himself.
Watching this sweet scene, Asher couldn’t help but feel a little “unhappy.” “I brought you back. Why do you love my uncle so much?”
Penelope took a tissue to blow her nose. “Shut up now.”
“New York is not the end of the earth. You’ll meet again, okay?” Asher started the car and left the garage.
If her health insurance wasn’t in the USA, if the baby wasn’t in her stomach, she might have tried to be with him.
Penelope and Warren began a love story, regardless of history or the future.

Monica sat on the sofa in the living room, engrossed in reading a magazine.
“Monica!”
A loud voice echoed from the bathroom. Monica sighed, dropped the beautiful picture from the magazine, and made her way to the bathroom.
The door swung open, and Monica helped Penelope up from the closed stool. Penelope tried to stand firmly on the floor.
“God bless you,” Penelope sighed, her hands on her hips, sweat on her forehead.
“Don’t ask me next time,” Monica walked out, pinching her nose in disgust.
Penelope washed her hands and followed her. “It’s too hard to stand up. I could hardly breathe.”
“I can weld you a handrail in the bathroom. You can lift yourself up by holding it,” Monica suggested as she sat back on the couch and looked up at her.
“It’s a waste. It’s useless after the baby is born.”
Monica glanced at her. “Don’t ask me next time. Even if you ask me, I won’t help you.”
Penelope raised her eyebrows and sat on the sofa next to Monica. She knew that even if Monica said this now, she would help her next time anyway.
“Didn’t the doctor tell you last time that you could know your baby’s gender?” Monica asked.
“Yes.”
“Boy or girl?”
“I didn’t read the report,” Penelope replied, peeling off a banana and taking a bite.
“How about going today?” Monica asked curiously. “If you know the baby’s gender, you can buy the proper toys and clothes, and you can also save money.”
Penelope touched her chin and said, “It’s nice to save money, but…”
“But what?”
“I won’t say anything. You won’t understand even if I say it.” Penelope stood up with difficulty and went to the bedroom to get her bag.
Monica chuckled and loudly shouted to the room, “I know what you’re thinking. You want to share it with your baby’s father. Do you think this is difficult to understand?”
Penelope opened the door and asked, “I don’t know whether he has forgotten me. It has been a month. No calls or messages at all!”
“Didn’t you think he was hard to deal with? Now you miss him?”
“You’re right, but he can’t… change his heart so quickly.” Penelope pouted, held her stomach, and said, “His baby is in my stomach. Why should I suffer alone…”
“You didn’t tell him that you are pregnant with his baby. Can you expect him and his baby to have a mutual affinity? Hey, aren’t you a little contradictory?” Monica said.
“Hey, I’m a pregnant woman. Isn’t it normal to be contradictory?”
“If he doesn’t contact you, you can contact him. What’s the reason for the invention of the mobile phone? Is it for you to check if you missed the call every day?”
Penelope thought for a moment, then slammed the door and went back to her room.
“I don’t want to listen…” Monica snorted.
Penelope gathered her courage to dial the phone number. She nervously waited for a moment and then heard a sweet female voice, “Sorry, the subscriber you dialed is not accepting calls at this time.”

Penelope felt very disappointed as if an inflated balloon had suddenly burst. She threw the phone on the bed and opened the door to leave.
Monica leaned forward and almost fell on her.
“Hurry up! It’s almost time for the appointment,” Monica pretended to urge her. Then she fixed her hair and quickly left.
Penelope snorted behind her. “It seems that not only pregnant women are contradictory, but all women are contradictory.”
After completing routine examinations at the hospital, Dr. Foster smiled and asked Penelope if she wanted to know the gender of the baby.
Penelope sat up in bed and shook her head with a smile.
Dr. Foster smiled and respected her choice.
