“Can I have a look?” Carl, sitting next to computer, stood up and said.
“You? Carl, I have no time to make joke with you now. It is not a joke.” Emma said to Carl.
“Am I looking like making a joke? Turn on your computer, I will see.” Carl took the lead to go into Emma’s office.
“Carl Ye. It is related to millions of dollar, it is a French translation, not a fight. Don’t make a mess here, ok?” Emma was angry.
“Manager Li, you have no other ways now, let him try. If he can understand, he will do a favor. If he doesn’t understand, we have nothing to lose.” Linda said. She wished Carl can translate it, then she did not need to find a French teacher in the city, and she would not be fired.
“He? French? No way. There are only a few people in this city know French. He just graduated from senior high school.” Emma said to Linda with despise.
“Since he asked for it, he will understand it more or less. Carl is not the one who likes to make jokes, just let him try. It won’t take too much time.” Linda persuaded Emma again.
Finally, Emma agreed, followed Carl to her office. She agreed because she no other ways. She did not believe that Carl can understand French at all. In her heart, Carl only knew about fight. After seeing Carl fighting, she had kept her impression on him.
“Show me the email.” Carl sat in Emma’s chair and said to her.
“Carl, I will believe you if you understand English. But this is French. Although there are similar, they are different. Could you not get involved?” By seeing Carl’s behavior, Emma judged that Carl was making a mess.
“Carl, I open it for you.” After seeing Emma’s attitude, Linda came to Carl and opened the email, she wished Carl can really understand French.

Linda got a piece of paper from the table and passed a pen to Carl.
Carl started to write down on the paper.
“Manager Li, Carl does know French.” After seeing Carl write down on the paper, Linda said to Emma gladly.
“Really? Does he make it up?” Emma was not sure and came to Carl. She still did not believe that Carl understand French.
“Look, the content is related to the contract.” After a while, Linda said to Emma excitedly pointing at the content written down by Carl.
Emma looked at the content on the paper carefully. She frowned and looked at Carl who was writing carefully down the paper. It was unbelievable that Carl Ye did know French.
After seeing what Carl wrote down, Emma knew that he was not making this up, because it was very well organized and related to the both partied and contract, which could not be made up. What is more, Carl didn’t participated in any of the company, certainly didn’t know the related content of cooperation, so, there was only one explanation that Carl was be able to write these down, that was Carl knew French and was translating this document.
“Carl, how do you know French?” Emma asked Carl curiously. That Carl understood French completely subverted Emma’s outlook on life and values, is was like a sun rising from the west, and a sow climbing up to the tree. She couldn’t understand how Carl, a warrior who had only graduated from junior high school and was full of scars, could speak French. And he seemed to be very good at it.
