” Woo, finally home”, I said, ” I’ve kinda missed this place, ain’t that right sis?”, I asked Janet who stood aloof staring at her phone. ” Yeah whatever, let’s just get the hell out of here. I hate airports”, she said.
” Sheesh, you should be happy to back home weirdo”, I said with a chuckle, ” alright let’s move. The limo I booked should be waiting right outside by now”, I said as I began to pull my luggage.
“… really true? Anyway, tell Coco Papito’s coming for a visit okay? I got her some presents…. Yes…. I’m about t…..”, some random guy bumped into me, ” what the fuck muchacho? are you fucking blind?”, he asked.
” Am I blind? some nerve you’ve got old-timer”, I retorted, ” you better run along now before I whoop your candy ass”, I threatened mockingly.
” Do you know who you’re talking to muchacho?”, the guy asked, ” I’ll fuck your whole family up if I want to. In fact you’re just lucky I’ve got somewhere to be, chico estúpido!”, he said as he walked away.
” Yeah you better run, old man!”, I yelled at him. ” Like can you believe that guy?”, I asked Janet who didn’t seem to have noticed the whole incident while fully concentrating on her phone. ” You need that taken from you one of these days”, I said to her as I walked away.
” Wait up, bonehead!”, she yelled as she tried to catch up.

” I hope they get that imbecile Jared”, I thought, ” the guy’s a maniac”, I muttered. I was lost in my thoughts as to what I would do to him. Though he is useless, I wouldn’t like to resort to killing him yet. ” Sir, sir…”, I heard, which yanked me out of my daydream. ” Oh yes? what is it?”, I asked.
” The plan sir, what do you think of it?”, our financial analyst asked as all the members of the board stared at me. ” Uhmmm, I’m not really in the best state of mind for now, let’s reach the meeting okay?”, I said as I stood up and went back to my office. I needed a way to silence Jared and to take the remaining hidden shares of the company. Then my intercom beeped. ” Jesus Christ! can’t a man get some fucking rest?!”, I exclaimed as I answered.
” Sir the CHRO wants to see you”, my secretary said.
” Send him in”, I said to her. ” Alright sir”, she replied. Then I heard a knock on my door. ” Come in”, I said. Just then, the CHRO walked in.
” Good morning sir”, he greeted. ” Yes, how can I help you?”, I asked.
” Sir, I wanted to tell you that we’re short on medical staff and we’ll need to advertise our offer Nationwide so all deficit branches can get a staff increment”, he said, ” we just need you to sign here sir”, he said as he showed me a document. I took it and went through it. ” Alright, you guys knock yourselves out and keep me posted on any new developments”, I said to him as I signed and handed the file back to him.
” Thanks a lot sir”, he said as he bowed slightly and left the office. Then I let out a sigh as I loosened my tie. ” This is one hell of a day”, I muttered as I reclined in my chair.

” Huff”, I sighed as I stared at the golden evening sun. It was breezy and the wind slightly ruffled my hair. ” Geez, it’s been quite a while since I last showed up here”, I thought. (*Ring**Ring**) ” Oh my phone”, I reacted as I reached into my pocket to get it. I looked at the screen. ” Oh it’s Mi Cielo”, I said with a subconscious smile on my face before picking up.
” Hello Mi Amor, I just arrived in the Maldives”, I said, ” can’t wait to see you guys”, I said.
” No, can’t wait to see your daughter, you mean” , she said, ” I’m no longer your Mi Amor so don’t call me that”, she added.
” I’m sorry for what happened before and I really wanna make it right Mi Cielo, just give me a chance, te lo ruego”, I said to her, ” you know how much I love you, Te quiero muchísimo”, I continued.
” Por favor para! Please stop with all that nonsense”, she said, ” you didn’t think of all this when you endangered our lives for your gang, or when you nearly got killed. You didn’t care that I and Coco cared! So it’s too late for any apologies now. Left for me I wouldn’t even let you see Coco. The last thing I want is for her to be negatively influenced by your lifestyle or worse, hurt by it”, she said.
” Alright, I get it. I was just hoping to make amends. I really miss the good old days, you know? But if you want to move on, it’s fine. I just hope you end up with a guy much better than me”, I said as tears trickled down my cheeks. I wiped them off and sniffed a couple of times. ” Anyway, I’ll come around tomorrow morning, I’ll find a hotel for tonight. Greet Mi Coco for me okay?… Yeah thanks….. Goodnight”, I said before she hung up.
” She really made up her mind this time”, I thought as I hailed a taxi and got in.
” Good evening”, said the taxi driver.
” Take me to the nearest hotel”, I said.
” No problem sir”, he said as we drove into the sunset…

Meanwhile***
” Urrghh! I can’t believe him. The nerve”, she said as she hung up.
” I’m guessing that was Coco’s dad”, I said as we lay on the bed. ” You bet it was”, she said in annoyance, ” you leave us for almost two years and now you wanna get back together with the same lifestyle that made us part ways in the first place”, she whined. I stared at her and smiled slightly.
” What’s so funny?”, she asked me in an interrogatory tone.
” Geez it’s nothing”, I laughed, ” it’s just amazing how beautiful you look when you’re annoyed”, I said as I rubbed my palm on her cheek. We stared at each other and she pulled in for a kiss. We tongue kissed for about five minutes before she gently pulled out and looked me in the eye. ” What?”, I asked in a gentle voice.
” I love you Luke”, she said, ” and I don’t wanna heartbroken again. Can you promise me that you won’t break my heart?”, she asked.
” Of course baby, I wouldn’t do it for the world”, I said to her, ” before I met you, my life was a mess. I did terrible things I’m not proud of and I thought there was no redemption for me, until you guys came into my life. I’ll always be grateful for that”, I said. Then she laid her head on my chest as I wrapped my arms around her. ” I love you and nothing will ever change that”, I said to her as I kissed her forehead. And so we slept peacefully. I guess life really does give second chances.

( Secretary’s POV~)
” Oh it’s getting late”, I thought as I glanced at the wall clock, ” I better get going”, I muttered as I packed my stuff. I left the office and took the elevator down to the reception floor. I smiled and waved as some of the patients and nurses greeted and waved at me. I had gotten used to smiling, it was literally part of my job description. I got to the parking lot and got into my car.
” Huff”, I sighed, ” what a stressful day”, I muttered as I turned on the ignition and began to make my way out of the parking lot. As I drove, my phone rang. ” Urrghh! who is it this time”, I grumbled as I picked it up with my hands-free device.
” Who is it?”, I asked. ” Urrhm, it’s me Daren”, the person answered.
” Oh Daren, how are you? Sorry I couldn’t pick your calls before. I was really busy”, I said.
“That’s not a problem. I actually kinda expected that”, he said, ” anyway, I was wondering if you would like to go out for dinner this weekend”, he said.
” Oh Daren, of course I would. Just let me know when so I can get ready okay?”, I said. ” Sure thing babe. See you later. Love you”, he said.
” I love you too”, I replied as I hung up and kept driving.
* A few minutes later*……
I got out of the car and walked into the building, and pressed the lock button on the remote keys. I took the elevator to my apartment’s floor. Then I got to the door and unlocked it.
” Pheeew, home sweet home”, I said as I turned on the lights. ” I better go take a shower”, I thought as I dropped my bag and went to my room to take off my clothes. I got into the bathroom and spent about ten minutes there taking a well-deserved cold shower. Then I got out and put on my pyjamas and went back to the living room. I sat down on the couch and turned on the TV.
” I wonder if they’ve begun airing that new soap opera they advertised”, I muttered as I searched different channels for something interesting to watch. ” Urrghh, there’s nothing interesting to watch”, I whined and then picked up my phone to reply any new texts. But just as I was with my phone, I heard crunching sounds. Startled, I stopped what I was doing and turned down the volume on the TV. As I tried to listen for the crunching sounds, I heard a clinging sounds. It was coming from the kitchen.
I stood up and started tiptoeing towards the kitchen gradually. ” Who’s there?”, I asked while still tiptoeing. Then I quickly turned on the lights and there the person was, a lady nibbling on potato chips.
” Whoa, you got me startled there for a moment”, she said , ” you want some of these?”, she asked pointing at the bowl of chips in her hand. ” I made them myself and I think they’re pretty good too”, she said as she took a bite out of another one. I stood there dumbfounded.
” Who the hell are you? and what are you doing in my house?”, I asked with an interrogatory voice.
” Geez, you’re one fiesty host. That’s no way to talk to a guest”, she said as she walked past me out of the kitchen and went to sit in the living room.
” If you don’t leave now, I’m gonna have to call the cops”, I threatened as I marched down to the living room and pointed at the door.
” I wouldn’t do that if I were you”, she said, ” now take a seat”, she said gesturing at the sofa. I became incensed and picked up my phone to call the cops.
” I guess you wanna get evicted from your home”, she said.
” What do you mean by that? you’re the one who’s gonna have to leave”, I said as I dialed the police.
” Hello, how can we help you?”, a cop answered.
” Officer, there’s been an invasion into my apartment by some unknown crazy lady and she refuses to leave even after I’ve demanded her to”, I said.
” Okay ma’am, can I get your location?”, the cop asked. Then she laughed. ” I wouldn’t call my landlord crazy especially when I still owe her rent for the past six months”, she said as she took another chip.
” How do you know that?”, I asked.
” Well I just bought the building today and was thinking of getting you and other tenants like you evicted”, she said, ” I’ve got all the receipts of your past payment and I don’t think I can be lenient with someone as rude as you are”, she said as she crossed her legs and ate more chips.
” Hello? hello? Ma’am are you alright?”, the officer on the phone asked.
” Yes officer, I’m okay”, I said. ” So can get that location please?”, he asked.
” That won’t be necessary sir, it was a false alarm. I’m really sorry for taking up your time”, I said to him as I hung up.
” Oh so now I’ve got your attention?”, she asked mockingly, ” though it’s too late though, I’m still gonna have to evict you. Simply can’t have a rude tenant on my property”, she said. I knelt down.
” Please don’t kick me out, I’ve got nowhere else to go”, I appealed to her. ” Alright alright geez, I was just kidding. I wasn’t just gonna kick you out. Please sit down”, she said again pointing at the sofa. I took a seat.
” You’re the secretary to Tristan Kelly, I believe”, she said to which I nodded. ” But how do you know that?”, I asked.
” That’s not your concern, I’ve got my sources”, she said in a stern voice. It’s like her personality changed in an instant. She was now dead serious and was really intimidating.
” Anyway, you’re gonna have to quit that job”, she said.
” That’s crazy, you can’t just make that kind of decision for me”, I said.
” Will you just keep quiet and listen?”, she asked with an irritated condescending look on her face. Then she stood up and went to the kitchen and brought out a bag and threw it at me. It was heavy.
” What’s in it?”, I asked.
” That’s a million dollars cash”, she said, ” you’re gonna take that and get the hell out of Kelly Medicals”, she said as she stood up and walked to the door.
” It was nice meeting you and hopefully I never see you again”, she said as she opened the door and was about to walk out, ” and also, the rest of those chips are yours”, she said as she shut the door.
” One million dollars!”, I thought as I opened the bag only to see huge wads of cash, ” who the hell was that?”, I wondered.
