They arrived at the Brown Villa. Lily was the first to step out. She then excitedly pulled Sheila towards the entrance of the house. Before Sheila could get to admire the beautiful decor of the Villa, she found herself getting dragged by Lily and she followed her obediently.
A row of servants stood at the entrance to welcome their master and little miss home but were astounded when they saw the beautiful woman being pulled by their little miss.
Although suprised, they still did not forget their manners and greeted the little miss who ignored them completely. It was nothing new, they were used to it.
David acknowledged their greetings before dismissing them and walked straight to the house, following his daughter who seemed enthusiastic.
” Beautiful sister, let me show you my room.” Lily said leading Sheila upstairs but Sheila refused.
” it’s impolite for me to do that.” Sheila answered seeing the questioning glance from the little girl.
” Why is it rude?” she innocently asked, she personally didn’t see anything wrong with that.
” Princess, you can show her your room later. You should get offer her something to drink first.” Not wanting his little woman to be put in a difficult place by his extremely inquisitive daughter, David came to her rescue. Sheila send him a grateful glance and he smiled at her.
” Oh.” Lily said looking as if she Just got enlightened.
“But I can’t reach the glass cabinet.” She complained, pouting.
” That’s why the maids are here ” David answered wondering if his daughter became alittle stupid from excitement.
” I would prefer to serve her myself.” Lily declared, making David to shake his head in disbelief.
” Little Miss, are you saying that we are useless?” An elderly woman said.
” Aunt Meng misunderstood. I just want to serve my mo… beautiful sister to show my gratitude for taking care of me.” Lily replied. She had almost spilled the beans and addressed Sheila as beautiful sister but she controlled herself at the end.
” Won’t you introduce your visitor to me my dear?” Aunt Meng was keen on the identity of the lady who was lucky enough to win Lily’s heart. She had watched Lily be born and grow. She witnessed all the changes the girl underwent after the death of her mother. Sure , you can say that Lily was young to understand what was going on but that would be a lie. As a young child, Lily was exceptionally bright and observant. She could still remember how the little girl cried during her mother’s send off. Ever since then, Lily started distancing herself from people. She preferred staying alone and would hardly talk to others, even the maids had a hard time dealing with her.
It was the first time she was seeing the little girl warm to anyone aside from her Aunt, father and grandmother.
” She’s the beautiful sister I told you about. Aunty, don’t you think she’s beautiful?” Lily asked the elderly woman, her face and eyes full of anticipation.
” Yes, she’s very beautiful.” Aunt Meng had to agree with Lily’s words. The Lady before had the most delicate facial features she had ever seen. She was like a beautiful painting in a canvas. From the genuine smile on her face, aunt Meng could tell that the woman was lovely. She only hoped that she would be kind and caring to their little Miss..
Lily smiled, satsified with the answer she got.
David introduced Sheila to the rest of the servants and Instructed Aunt Meng to prepare a room for her since she would be staying with them for the time being.
The old woman was elated to hear the good news. Are couldn’t wait to tell the old Madam about the presence of a lady in the Villa.
Ever since their former mistress passed away, David never brought a woman to stay in the house. Occasionally, he would bring a lady home to introduce her to his daughter but never allowed any to stay in the house, not that they lasted a day before running away from Lily’s pranks.
Aunt Meng could see the twinkle in David’s eyes everytime he looked her way. His eyes would be gentle while stealing glances at her. She could tell that David was attracted to the girl.
Since she couldn’t Inform the old Madam after the promise she made to Lily in the morning, that didn’t mean she couldn’t pull some strings to help them build a relationship.
The earlier the two fell in love, the better. If that happened, she could stop worrying about David and the little girl.
She had worked for the Brown family since she was a young lady until now. She had watched David grow up to the responsible man he is now.
She understood his struggles and worried about his future. She wanted him to move on from the death of his wife and find Love again. Find a woman who will accept him and be a good mother to the young Miss and she could see the perfect candidate for that.
Aunt Meng purposely prepared the room next to David’s bedroom for Sheila. That way, they could often see each other.
She giggled at her excellent Idea.
Meanwhile, Lily and Sheila were playing outside the mansion while David sat on the lounge chair watching them play happily.
The scene infront of him was everything he wanted in life. A happy family to come back to every evening after work.
He watched as the little woman wiped his daughter’s sweat and how careful she was to ensure that Lily didn’t get hurt while playing.
He could see the genuineness in her actions and that she truly cared and loved his daughter.
He wanted to make her his woman, his wife as soon as possible because there was no way in hell he was letting go of such a precious gem. He wanted her for a wife, a lifetime companion. Lily wanted a mother and he was willing to do anything, to go to any length to have her as a wife and a mother to his children.
