It hurts me to see her cry like this. And it hurts me even more, knowing I am the reason for it. I want to go baby shopping with her, but I can’t, nor can I leave her alone to do some shopping, not when she is in this condition.
I have to attend a crucial alpha meeting. We have to discuss some critical matters immediately. I will have to make it up to Nikki. I know what to do to make it up to Nikki.
After lunch, I drove her home and left her in my mother’s and Emma’s care. Then walks to my office to go through the topics of today’s meeting and prepare for the meeting.
The meeting lasts for two hours, and finally, after a lot of argument, we decide that the Starish pack will get the Havens pack land to stay. Since it was their ancestors who were the ones, who had entrusted the land to the havens pack, Quater Nights can use the forest and other resources, and it’s all thanks to Sky-high packs beta, who come up with this idea. I should talk with the werewolf council member to offer a post to him as Elder Derek is retiring from his position. It will benefit us all in a lot of ways.
Now about making up to Nikki, where should I start? I should start by making a list of all the things I need to do and get some ideas. Yeah! That would be a good idea. So I walked to my office and started searching for pictures on the internet.
After browsing the internet, a picture finally caught my eye. And I take some suggestions from there. After some more browsing on the internet, I started to list all the things that I would need to surprise and give to an Omega to go and purchase them for me.
“Knock-Knock”
“Come in,” I said while going through some files.
“Alpha, the dinner is ready to be served, and everyone is waiting for you to come to the dining room,” an Omega said while looking down at the floor.
“Okay, I will be there in a few seconds,” I said, closed the file, and dismissed her.
I walk downstairs and take a seat beside Dad and Nikki. When I hold her hand, she pulls it away with a huff.
“Did something happen between you and Nikki?” Dad asks, and I tell everything that happens in the story.
“I hope you have something in mind to make up for it. It’s not safe for you to keep a pregnant lady upset with you. I still remember when your mother was upset and was pregnant with your sister,” Dad said and shuddered while remembering that day.
“She made you sleep in the real dog house, didn’t she?” I asked with a sneaker, and he nodded his head at me.
“By the way, what had you done that day that made her so angry at you?” I ask him.
“Well, I am having some troubles with rogues, plus all the work is penning up on my desk. So when I had one of your mother’s moods change, I lost it, and I took it all out on your mother,” he said to me with a shake of his head.
“How does she react, then?” I ask.
“Not good. Your mother gives me the cold shoulder to me. And trust me on this, it is worse than being the center of someone’s anger,” Dad said to me.
“What did you do to make it up to her?” I ask him while taking a sip of my champion.
“I practically beg for her forgiveness.”
“I never thought that an Alpha could beg someone for forgiveness,” I said with a chuckle.
“That is true. Only our true mate can get us down on our knees,” he said with a smile on his face.
After dinner, Nikki and I go back to our room to get some sleep. And the whole way to our room, she didn’t even let me touch her hand, even if she was having a problem with the stairs. She calls an Omega to help her climb the stairs.
“Oh, come on, Nikki, how long are you planning to stay mad at me like this?” I ask when we enter our room. But she just ignored me and walked inside the washroom. I grab my clothes from the wardrobe and walk to another room to take a much-needed shower.
After a shower, I walk inside my room. I see Nikki is already in bed. When I try to pull her closer to me and in my arms, she removes my hands from her waist rather harshly.
*Man, she is pissed, isn’t she?*
*Took you long enough to know that genius, now don’t just stay there do something, you idiot,* my wolf said with an irritating growl. I block him and get up from the bed, knowing that I wouldn’t sleep without having Nikki in my arms.
I walk to the next room and start working on my plan. After completing painting the room, I started decorating and arranging the room. When I look at all my hard work, I smile, feeling satisfied with my work, and walk back to my room.
I looked at the clock and saw that I still had one and a half hours left with me before Nikki woke up from her sleep. Maybe, I can surprise her with breakfast in bed. I kissed her while making sure not to wake her up and walked inside the bathroom after grabbing my clothes.
After the shower, I go to the gym or pack training room, do some exercise, and walk into the kitchen to make breakfast for us.
“Alpha, why did you need something? If you did, then you could have called us.” One of the Omega said while bowing in front of me.
“It’s okay. I planned to surprise my mate with breakfast in bed, so I came here to make breakfast for us. Can you please lend me the grand kitchen for some time?” I ask them.
“Sure, please don’t hesitate to call you if you need our help with something,” they said to me and walked outside after bowing their heads in front of me.
I gather everything, start making breakfast for us, decorate the tray with food, put it in the food cart, and take it upstairs to my room.
“Good morning, love,” I said while entering the room.
“Here, I have prepared your favorite breakfast,” I said and helped her sit in the bed and serve her.
“Are you still mad at me?” I asked, and she nodded her head while stuffing her face with chocolate pancake.
*So cute* my wolf whispered with an awe expression. I can’t help but bend down and kiss her. I was about to deepen the kiss but got interrupted when my phone started to ring loudly.
“Finished your breakfast and get ready. I have a surprise for you,” I said to Nikki and walked out of the room. After attending the call, I went to my office and completed my pending work while waiting for Nikki to get ready for the day. After that, I mind-linked my beta and delta and told them to cancel all of my meetings and handle office work for me for two days to spend some time with my mate.
When I came back to our room, I saw Nikki was already ready and was waiting for me. I put a blindfold on her eyes and guided her to the next room.
