One week later
After helping Ryan with his kingdom, I get back to my pack house and start training with Emma to store my energy, and as Emma had said to me a month ago, it takes a lot of energy and concentration to hold power and control it.
First, I have to create space inside my mind or head to store energy. Then concentrate that every day a small amount of energy goes to that pay and stays there, and then a massive amount of concentration to control that energy so that power does not take control of your mind.
I have just started to take the first step to do that. I can already feel the exhaustion, and pain all over my body. After training for some more time, I walk inside the kitchen to eat something, have a hot shower, and get inside the cover to rest.
Today was Stella’s baby shower, and I was getting ready for it.
“Are you done, getting ready yet? Can I come inside the room, now?” Cole asks from the other side of the door.
“Yes,” I said while looking at myself in the mirror.
“Wow,” I heard a whisper while entering the room.
“You look beautiful, Nikki,” Cole said while standing behind me. I was wearing a light blue off-shoulder dress, which is tight till the skirt’s waist and rest are free, with silver embodies. I handed over a necklace to Cole and put it on my neck.
“Did you grab all the gifts we have brought for Stella and her baby?” I ask him while grabbing my phone and purse.
“Yes, and everyone is downstairs waiting for us,” Cole said to me, and we headed downstairs in the hall to gather in the lobby and go to Torak’s pack house for the baby shower. We loaded the gifts in the car and drove to Torak’s pack house. It takes an hour to get there, to see other vehicles start to arrive at the pack house.
We walk inside the pack house with the Omegas following us with the tray full of gifts covered with clothes as Torak sees us coming inside the house. He excuses himself from the guest and walks towards us.
“Congratulations, Torak,” we said to him and shook hands with him.
“Thank you, guys,” Torak said while smiling at us.
“So, did you guys find out the gender of the baby by now?” I ask Torak.
“No, we have kept it as surprised. We will reveal it today,” Torak said to us with a big smile on his face. After talking for some time, Mom and I walk toward Stella to meet her. She was sitting on the couch and talking with her new friends.
“Congratulations, Stella, one more month to go, and the baby will finally be going to be here, huh,” I said and hugged her.
“I know, right? I can’t wait for it to come out already,” Stella said while smiling and caressing her stomach.
“So how does it feel to carry a life inside your body?” I ask her while helping her sit on the couch.
“It feels great, even if the morning sickness and mood changes are horrible. But Torak was a very patient and fantastic mate. Talking about the baby, you and Cole haven’t completed the mating process, right? You guys have already marked each other. You guys should already have completed the matting process by Now. Then what is taking so long to complete it? “Stella asks me, and I become speechless. If I answer honestly, I never thought about it. Just as I open my mouth to change the subject, one of her friends comes to her and saves me from answering her question.
As I wondered about Stella’s question, Cole called me to introduce me to some new Alpha and Luna who were not present at my 18th birthday party and last Alpha meeting.
“Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please? It’s time to reveal the gender of the baby, for that I want all of you guys to gather around the cake so that we can remove the cover and reveal the gender of the baby,” Torak said, and an Omega came with a trolly, with a white two store cake on it. Torak helps Stella get up from the couch and walks towards the trolly. They cut the cake together and look at the inside of the cake. And it has blue color icing inside the cake, so that means that they were going to have a son.
“It’s a boy,” Torak yelled in happiness and fed the cake to Stella, and she fed Torak. After that, the Omega took the cake away from there to cut it and distribute it to the guests. One by one, everyone goes to the couple and congratulates them again. Then there was a gift-opening ceremony, and some dance performance was done by Stella’s friends and by all the family members.
After some time, Omegas made arrangements for dinner and expected our family and Stella’s in-laws, everyone leave for home. I walked outside of the washroom while drying my hair air, got inside the cover, and tried to fall asleep. But I can’t fall asleep. The question which Stella asks during the baby shower is still bothering me.
With much difficulty, I remove a heavy arm of Cole from my body walk inside the kitchen take out the jug of orange juice, and drink the juice to calm myself while thinking about what Stella has asked me during the baby shower. It is a time like this I miss my parents most, to share things like this with my mother. Even Rose is like a mother to me. I feel embarrassed to talk about this to her.
Now that I think about it, my and Cole’s relationship is like a child and a guardian. I mean, he practically grows me up. Besides, it was not me who took control of my body and marked him. Kiyara did it, and having that kind of relationship with your guardian feels gross.
“But he was our, mate. We are made for each other,” My wolf said to me with an irritating growl.
“I know that, but still,” I said to her. Kiyara was about to say something but was interrupted by Mom.
“Why are you not sleeping in your room? Is something bothering you? You can share everything with me. You know that right?” Mom asks while walking inside the kitchen with an empty jug in her hand.
“I know that, but it was embarrassing,” I said while playing with a glass in my hand to avoid facing her.
“It’s okay. You can talk to me about it. I won’t judge you or laugh at you, you know,” She said while taking a seat beside me and taking one of my hands in her hands to comfort me. I sigh and decide to share it with you.
“Mom, you won’t mind if I ask you a personal question, right?” I asked her, and she nodded her head.
“Of course not. What is it?” Mom asks.
“How did you and Dad complete the mating process? I mean, did guys get into it, like Stella and Torak directly, or date at first then mate with each other?” I ask her while looking away from her.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to answer my question,” I said to her while still avoiding looking at her.
“Well, Mike and I were childhood friends, both of our parents were alpha of the packs, and we were also hoping to be mates, and on his 8th birthday party he realized that I was his mate, but I was 17 years old by then, so we decided to wait until I turn 18, then on my 18th birthday party after cutting the cake. We sneak out of the party and mate with each other. But why are you asking this?” Mom asks me.
“At the baby shower, Stella asks me when I am going to mate with Cole, and If I would be honest, I never have thought about that until now, and when I think about it, I am worried if I ever able to mate; with him? What if I wasn’t ever able to mate with him? Will he reject me? Will he find someone else to give birth to the future alpha of this pack?” I said to her and started panicking when thoughts like this began to come to my mind. I can’t be able to live with thought without Cole in my life or seeing him with someone.
“Hey, hey, calm down. Nothing like this is going to happen in the future. I can understand where you are coming from; I can understand that you are not ready to get intimate with Cole yet, and it’s okay. Take your time, okay? Besides, it was not possible for Cole to have a child with someone else because only his true mate could get him pregnant or carry his child. Besides, it was not like jumping straight into it, like Stella or me. It will like to happen in a spiral of the moment, that you lost in the moment and did it with him.” Mom said while smiling at me.
“What do you mean by that?” I ask her.
“You will know by yourself when the right time comes. Anyway, you should go back to your room now. Otherwise, Cole would get worried if he didn’t find you sleeping beside him. Also, don’t think or worry about it too much, okay.” Mom said, and after filling the jug with water, she went back to her room.
With a sigh, I get up, wash the glass, and walk to my room, and with Mom’s reassurance, I am finally able to peacefully.
