The place was crowded and everyone around me was living their best life. Cage had taken Ally home about an hour ago. The poor girl couldn’t keep anything down. Me on the other hand. I couldn’t stop eating.
Blaze still wasn’t home. Him and Jared out doing whatever it is they do.
“How you doing darling?”. Marko took the seat next to me slinging his arm around my shoulder. “I hear you’ve got news?”. He smirked.
“Does everyone already know?”. I sighed. I didn’t like it one bit. I wasn’t out the danger zone yet and yes, I could be perfectly fine but still I didn’t want to tell anyone until I knew for sure.
“Only family darling”. Kissing the side of my head he got to his feet. “Where’s little bear?”. He asked.
“Preschool”. I grinned. “I pick her up soon”. Glancing at my watch I had 15 minutes before I had to leave.
“You bring her back here when she’s finished”.
“Is Sasha here?”. I asked.
His features changed; his eyes hardened. “Sasha ain’t your business Ava. Leave it be”. Lifting his beer he disappeared throughout the club.
That was weird.
Checking my bag to make sure I had my keys I slipped out the booth and headed outside. My mom still wasn’t back either and my dad had been cooped up in his office with Duke for hours.
Something was going on I knew that much.
Hearing the roar of bikes Blaze and Jared pulled into the lot. My stomach filled with butterflies when I saw him, my heartbeat picked up a little. I don’t think I’d ever get used to how handsome he really is.
Rough around the edges, a real hard ass but he was mine, he was always going to be mine.
Cutting his engine, I watched as he slipped off his helmet placing it on his handlebars. Next came the cigarette from his cut pocket. Lighting it up he removed the shades from his eyes.
He was staring right at me.
Demounting his bike, I couldn’t help but rake my eyes over every inch of his body. My hormones were all over the place.
“Keep looking at me like that and we’re gonna have a problem”. Pulling me against him I gasped when I felt how hard he was.
My mouth became dry. That sweet little feeling of ecstasy building in the pit of my stomach. I wanted him and I wanted him now.
“Fuck you drive me crazy”. He growled his hand slipping into the back of my hair.
Yes!
“I-I…”. I couldn’t think.
“Come with me”. Taking a hold of my hand he pulled me up the side of the clubhouse. That only added to my excitement. “Fuck baby”. He groaned as I slid my hand over his jean covered cock.
“Blaze I-…”. I wanted him more than I’ve even wanted him before.
“Fuck”. He hissed. “I’ve got church at 4 sweets”.
“What time is it?”.
“Almost ten to”.
“Shit”. I hissed. “I’m going to be late; I can’t be late picking her up on her first day”. Pushing him off his grip on my waist tightened.
“Calm down! Your moms picking her up”.
“And she didn’t think to tell me?”. Shaking my head, I pulled away from him. “Is there no communication around here nowadays”.
“Babe calm the fuck down. The fucks your phone?”.
“It’s in my bag why?”.
His eyes darkened. “Because I’m pretty fucking sure if you check it, you’ll see I told you about your mom picking up Everleigh”.
“You did?”. Fuck! My head was all over the place along with my emotions.
Slipping his arm around my waist he pulled me closer our noses touching. “Once I finish church I’m taking you home. Understand?”.
“I’m sorry”. I sighed pressing my lips against his. “I didn’t mean to snap”.
“Do it again and I’ll take you across my knee”. The tone of his voice turned me on more.
Chewing my bottom lip, I tried to hide my smile. The fucker knew I couldn’t resist when he came at me like that.
“Tell me baby, is that little pussy throbbing”….
Shivers went down my spine. The hairs on the back of my neck standing. I already knew I was wet and ready. He did something to me no one else could. He made me feel alive.
“I hate you”. I groaned as he slipped his hands down onto my ass cheeks.
“Give me an hour and I’ll be eating it”. Slipping his hand into the back of my hair his lips attacked mine.
Fuck me! I couldn’t breathe.
“Yo VP we got church”.
There was always someone ruining our moment!
“Go”. I whispered.
Grabbing a hold of my chin he placed a kiss on my forehead. “Don’t go anywhere. I’ll be an hour tops”.
Where did he think, I was going to go?
Feeling the sting against my ass cheek I clenched my teeth my cheeks scarlet when my eyes locked with Jared’s.
“Congratulations mama”. Slipping his arm around my shoulder he kissed the top of my head.
“Hands off my woman Jared! Ava stay put”.
Rolling my eyes, I watched as they disappeared into the clubhouse. I wondered if Marco would be joining this church meeting. I had a feeling I couldn’t shake. There had to be something going on.
But it was none of my business. If it was serious he would tell me!
“So, it’s true?”.
Staring at the girl in front of me I frowned. I had never seen her before. “Do I know you?”. I asked. I knew I didn’t, but she obviously knew me.
“Does he make you happy?”. She asked.
“I’m sorry but who are you?”. I was a little sceptical, but I wasn’t afraid.
“I hear he’s knocked you up again. Why did you come back here. He doesn’t deserve you; he doesn’t deserve anything good in his life”.
Okay I was done!
“You need to leave”. Folding my arms across my chest I took a step back as she took one forward.
“He ruined my sisters’ life”. She hissed. “She died because of him”.
“No”. I yelled. I wasn’t standing here listening to this. Blaze didn’t kill her. The drugs killed her, her addiction killed her. “Leave now”.
“He’ll ruin you just like he did her”….
“The fuck are you doing here Kelly?”….
Duke!
Feeling his presence behind me I felt myself physically relax. I wasn’t scared but it was comforting knowing he was here.
“I suggest you get the fuck out of here. You’re a waster just like your whore sister”….
Oh shit!
“No”. She screamed. “He killed her, he killed my nephew”.
“You weren’t saying that when you were pumping that shit through your veins for free”. As he stood in front of me, I moved slightly so I could see her.
Only then did I realise how bad she looked. Thin, pale, malnourished. The girl looked sick.
“That what you’re here for. You here for a fix Kelly?”. As he took a step towards her, I grabbed the back of his cut. He was dangerous just like the rest of them and this girl didn’t stand a chance.
“Don’t”. I whispered.
“Get the fuck outta here and if I see you around here again it won’t be nice”. As he threw some money on the ground, she moved so quickly to pick it up.
So, she was here for that.
“The hospital offers a rehab facility that-….”
“I wouldn’t even waste your time”. Duke spat on the ground as we watched her disappear out onto the street. “There’s no helping waster like that Ava. It’s best you remember that”.
“How come I haven’t seen her before?”. This obviously wasn’t the first time she had come around here.
“She shows up every couple of months. Always running her mouth but always looking for money. She’s a junkie Ava, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over her”.
“Well, she obviously needs help not for you to throw money at her”.
“Always looking for the good in people”. Sighing he lit up a smoke. “Her and her sister got hooked on the smack. Blaze got Emma clean-….”
“That’s his ex-wife?”. I asked. That was something we had never really talked about.
“He only married her cause she was pregnant but yeah. He got her clean and that tramp got her hooked again. She lasted 6 months, Blaze had to go out of town for a weekend and by the time he got home she was back to square one”.
“That’s sad”. I whispered.
She had so much to live for, her baby boy for starters.
“That’s addiction sweetheart. I gotta get back to church. You be all right?”. He asked.
“Yeah”. I smiled placing my hand over my stomach. I couldn’t imagine having to go through losing a child.
It was the sound of her little voice that knocked me out my thoughts. I couldn’t hold back my smile as she ran towards me. Lifting her into my arms I hugged her to me.
“I missed you mommy”. Slipping her hand into my hair she buried her head into the side of my neck.
“I missed you more baby. Did you have fun?”. I asked walking her the short distance inside.
At least they had turned the music off. Church was still going on, so it was only the women and prospects hanging around.
“I did mommy I have new friend. His name Jacob”.
“So, you had a good day?”. Kissing the top of her head I placed her on her feet. “Daddy won’t be long and then we’ll go home for dinner”.
“Okay mommy. I play my iPad”.
I could have cried at the sight of her. She wasn’t a baby anymore. It was amazing to watch her becoming her own little person.
“What a day I’ve had”. My mom sighed from beside me.
“Where’s Leighton?”. I asked.
“In the car napping. Little shits got your fathers attitude”.
I couldn’t hide my grin. He sure as hell was Frankos son in every way. I prayed for my mom for the day when he turns sixteen.
“I need coffee”. She groaned. “I got a few things for you”. Sitting at the bar so I was in eyesight of Everleigh I smiled as the glass of water was placed in front of me.
“You”. My mom pointed at the young guy behind the bar. “You’re new, what’s your name?”. She asked.
“T-Tom”. He stuttered.
“Well Tom do me a favour and go outside. Stand by the jeep and if my baby wakes up come get me. Okay?”.
“Y-yes ma’am”….
“Mom”. I sighed.
“What I just need him to keep watch”. She shrugged as she stirred her coffee. “He hasn’t napped all day. I’m not wakening him”.
“You’re terrible”.
“He wants patched in. Helping an old lady will do that”. She winked. “Can I keep Everleigh tonight?”.
“Mom, I want-…”
“It’s your first day back to work tomorrow. Let me keep her tonight please”.
“You already do too much for us”.
“I’m her nana I’m supposed to. Gives you and Blaze a little alone time as well”. She smirked.
“Okay fine”. I sighed.
