“How much further?”. I sighed. We had been driving for hours and I was starting to get uncomfortable.
“5 minutes”.
I was anxious. I wasn’t sure if he was going to appreciate the thought of me coming to see him or if he was going to hate it and be a bastard.
“I think we made a mistake coming here”.
“A little late for that darling”. As we slowed down, he signalled into the lot of the clubhouse. It was uncanny at how much it looked like back home. Bikes were lined up out front, but I couldn’t see Blaze’s.
As he parked the car the butterflies erupted in my stomach. I shouldn’t have come here. He was on a job, the last thing he needed was me hanging around.
“Come on”. Jared said opening the door. I couldn’t move, didn’t want to. “Ava”. He sighed lifting my bag out the back seat.
“I don’t want to”. I groaned. “This was a mistake he’ll think I’m here because he can’t handle what he’s going through. He’s only been gone a few hours”.
“Trust me sweetheart if my old lady turned up while I was on a job anger would be the last thing on my mind”. He winked. “Now come on I’m choking on a drink”.
“This is just like back home”. I muttered as we walked through the door. I was right, it was loud, the music was blaring, and the club girls were on top form.
Slipping his arm around my shoulder he pulled me close. “Dirty bitches up in here sweetheart. We don’t touch that”. Rolling my eyes, I walked further inside. Yeah right, they would literally shag a hole in the floor.
I smiled when my eyes landed on Lexi behind the bar, but she hadn’t noticed me yet. Jared had gone to get some drinks; I was stood minding my own business looking to see if I could find a familiar face.
“Your old man know your here?”.
“You do know I’m 27 and my dad doesn’t have a say in where I go right?”. Pulling me in for a hug he kissed my cheek.
“He still likes to know you’re safe darling”.
“I’m safe Marko”.
“Blaze know you’re here?”. He asked.
“I call dibs on that”. A guy I didn’t recognise yelled as I felt him behind me. “What’s your name sweetheart?”. Oh god I could feel his breath fan over my neck.
“Are you kidding me?”. I glared as Marko pushed me behind him. Why do guys think that’s acceptable?
“The fuck have I told you”. He snapped. “You’re here on a visit anymore of that and you’ll be going home in a body bag. Leave her the fuck alone”.
“She spoken for like?”. He smirked. Who even was this guy. Marko laughed; I could see Jared making his way back over to me.
“That your man sweetheart”. He asked as Jared handed me a beer.
“The fuck is this idiot?”. Jared hissed. “Gotta stop letting the strays in Marko”.
“Jared”. I warned my eyes landing on his clenched fists. There didn’t need to be a blood bath for no reason.
“Come ahead old man”. Oh, fuck this kid was asking for it. “Watch me take your girl from you”. He grinned.
Jared and Marko burst out laughing.
“He really thinks I’m her man. Shows you how much he knows”. Jared smirked. “She ain’t my old lady kid”. And just at that very moment Blaze arrived, Duke following behind him. “She’s his”. His full face changed; his features hardened.
“You gonna tell him you’re taking his old lady?”. Jared hissed. “I fucking dare you”.
This was ridiculous. Rubbing a hand over my face I froze when I felt him behind me. Slipping his arm around my waist I felt how tense he was. “You gonna take my old lady kid?”.
“S-sorry Blaze I didn’t know; I was just messing around”.
So, wait he was afraid of Blaze but not Jared. That was a first. Or maybe it was because he didn’t know what Jared was capable of.
“That’s what I thought now git”. He scowled. The kid couldn’t have moved any faster.
“Think he pissed his pants”. Jared smirked. “You good brother?”. My heart was racing. What if he didn’t want me here?
“Better now”. Tightening his arm around my waist I placed my hand on top of his. “You hungry babe?”. I hadn’t eaten all day, but I didn’t have much of an appetite.
He was always trying to feed me.
“She’s not ate all fucking day; I wore her damn sandwich”. Jared pipped up grassing me in. Why did he have to tell him that.
“Ava”. He warned. “You better be eating”. Turning me around so I could face him he grabbed my chin. “I mean it”.
“I am”. I glared at Jared. He needed to mind his own business. Grabbing a hold of my hand he led me through the back and into where I presume, he was sleeping. As he locked the door behind us, I sat on the edge of the bed.
Taking off his cut he hung it on the back of the door before he pulled his hoodie and T-shirt over his head. Catching a glimpse of his tattoo of my name I smiled.
“Gonna get cleaned up darling. I won’t be long”. Lighting up a smoke he disappeared into the bathroom. He didn’t seem to be angry that I was here, but it killed me that he wasn’t being his usual self. I didn’t know what to do or say to him for him to tell me what was wrong. Was I just to wait until he was ready. Sending Ally a text I apologised for not being home and explained where I was.
Getting to my feet I started looking around the room, my nose always got the better of me. It wasn’t anything fancy, it had the essentials of what he needed. Sinking my teeth into my bottom lip I glanced at his cut then back at the bathroom door. I only wanted a smoke.
Digging around in his pockets I smiled when I pulled out the photo of us. It was worse for wear being stuck in there. Putting it back I checked his other pocket grabbing his smokes.
Opening the window, a little I caught sight of Jared and Duke. They seemed to be in deep conversation, but I could tell by his body language that it wasn’t good. Lighting up my smoke I took a draw immediately gagging afterwards. My mouth watered, my cheeks drawing together.
Not this again.
Throwing out the cigarette I barged into the bathroom dropping to my knees at the toilet bowl. Feeling his hand on my back I dry heaved, my eyes watered my insides tightening.
“Babe?”.
“I’m okay”. I slowed my breathing. I wasn’t going to be sick I just felt it. Spitting into the toilet I wiped my mouth and dried my eyes. I better have a bug.
“You don’t seem okay Ava”.
Flushing the toilet, I put the seat down and got to my feet. “I’m okay”. I smiled my eyes darting over his bare chest.
I couldn’t stop staring at him. The towel hung loosely on his hips; his v line not as noticeable as it once was but his body did things to me, I couldn’t explain. His build, his structure the way he carried himself.
I could already feel myself becoming aroused. Staring at the ink that covered his chest I watched the water droplets disappear beneath the towel. Wetting my lip with my tongue I sunk my teeth into my bottom lip.
“Stop looking at me like that”. He growled causing my head to snap up my eyes landing on his. His teeth clenched his eyes darkened. He was turned on just as much as me. I didn’t know what had come over me. I wanted to strip naked and let him take me against the wall.
“Ava”. The tone of his voice sent shivers down my spine. He wasn’t helping the throb between my legs or the tingling feeling in the pit of my stomach. I was turned on, sue me.
Blinking a few times, I broke our stare and giggled. “Put some damn clothes on then. You can’t be standing there in all your glory and expect me not to react”. Pulling open the bathroom door a squeal fell from my lips when he picked me up throwing me over his shoulder.
“Missed you babe”. Placing me in the middle of the bed he climbed up my body resting between my legs. “Hate being away from you”. Brushing his nose against mine he kissed my lips. “Hate being away from my girls”.
“Then come home”. I whispered. I’m sure someone else could take his place. Surely, he could say no at times to. He was VP, second in line, next to take my dad’s place. “Please Blaze just come home with me”.
“I wish it was as easy as that sweets”. Placing his arms on either side of me he rested his head on my stomach. “I want to come home, but Marko needs me here”.
“I know”. I sighed. I hated it and he knew that but what could I do. This was the life he knew. You’d think I’d be used to it by now. “I’m only here tonight”.
“You shouldn’t have come in the first place. You should be at home”. I didn’t know how to take that. I was only here to make sure he was okay and to make sure he was coming home.
“I’ll leave tonight-…”
“You won’t it’s getting late and you’re not driving back on your own”. Lifting himself off me he got to his feet hunting for his cigarettes. “Besides Jared’s occupied for the rest of the night”. Lighting one up he sat on the edge of the bed.
As the cigarette reek hit my nose, I felt that awful feeling in my stomach again. My mouth watered; my cheeks tightened. Breathing deeply, I pushed myself off the bed and ran back into the bathroom locking the door behind me.
