Jack’s POV
As she orders for the one in charge of cleaning up the mess on the ground, I keep apologizing to both of them for disturbing their peace. I even tender a public apology as I feel everyone is tensed by how loud I gagged.
“It’s fine. It’s okay.” She says again as my wolf eyes turn blue and my wolf releases perfect scent in the air. I slowly sniff it and I can see her eyes shutting while she sniffs the scent as well. She suddenly gesticulates to me, trying to catch a point.
“Can I see you for a moment?” I ask her.
“Let me attend to the customers first. Customer’s satisfaction is our priority,” she says and turns to Jake, “how many bowls of ice cream did you say you want more?”
“Are we the only set of people to attend to, at the moment?” Jake asks as she scans around with her eyes darting to and fro while I keep staring at her gorgeous body.
“Yes, I assume so.” She says.
Jake’s lips curl up to a smirk as he understands what’s going on already. He whispers to her, “attend to him. I’m free. I’m okay. Don’t think you’re going to go short of this business. We can even pay without having the ice cream.”
She wants to decline that request as her lips shiver but she doesn’t find any word to say. I extend my hands towards her and she slowly rolls her eyes as she leads the way to the store. I follow her behind as I exchange handshakes with Jake. He’s really helped me with this. He simply could have distracted her all in the name of customers satisfaction which includes but not limited to, ordering more bowls of ice cream, giving reviews that aren’t even requested for.
“So, what did you want to see me for?”
This is the question I expect her to ask after I shut the door and there’s no close noise to us.
“You’re my mate. Really?” She smirks and fixes a frown on her face.
“I’m sure the moon goddess has linked us both together. I didn’t do this and I’m lucky to have you as my mate. What’s the name?” I ask. Though I am timid but I do not let it reflect in my voice.
“You shouldn’t be asking me anything.” She whispers back.
“Why?” I ask as I roll my eyes at her, in a suggestive way.
“You’re too young for me!” She says, “ugh!”
“Is that all?” I ask as I slowly pin her to the wall.
“Do you wanna rape me now? The company will sue you!”
“What’s your position in the company?” I almost bite her lips as I get too close now.
“The manager. Not only for the ice cream shop but the total company from Nakanda up here.” She reveals.
“So I’m a nobody, huh? That’s why you don’t want me.” I say.
“How old are you? I’m not sure I want someone like this. The moon goddess has disappointed me. She promised I’ll meet my mate today but see who I’ve got here.” She ridicules.
“Don’t insult me, alright? I am heading towards nineteen years of age. How about you?”
“Good one. I’m only eighteen. Just clocked eighteen yesternight. I was glad I’d find my mate and now that I have…” She says, whimpers and suddenly grabs my neck as she pulls me closer, claiming my lips. She kisses me for the next five minutes before she pulls her lips away and smacks them.
“I understand your desires.” I comment.
“Future desires. We’ve got to know each other first. I’m Samantha. You can call me Sam for short.” She extends her hands for an handshake and I warmly receive it, replying, “I am Jack. You should know me but maybe father hasn’t introduced us well yet.”
“Father? Who’s your father?” She asks.
“Future questions. We’ve got to know each other first.” I quote her as she chuckles, fixing a childish expression on her face.
“I’d like to attend to the customers here before we walk home together.” She says as I suddenly feel the heartbeat. Same thing she’s feeling at the moment.
My wolf cries desperately, “mate, mate, mate!”
She pulls me into a tight hug as she feels overly comfortable. She’s a very sexy girl and I’m so much grateful to the moon goddess for linking us up.
“I’d be right back.” She says as she walks out of the store. I forgot to ask her this question: how could she be the manager at 18? Is hee father a popular man, a politician? No one else to serve as a manager but a teenager yet still?
“Shut your lips. You’re also a teenager.” My wolf teases as I excitedly exits the store, monitoring her movement with my peripheral vision.
I quickly move on to sit with Jake as I begin to space out before I can realize it. He’s taken a picture of me before informing me I was spacing out, should I not believe him.
“How did it go?” He asks, now spacing out but consciously. He was much more excited than I am. Sam winks from where she is and I wink back.
One of the customers, a man actually, catches the message we’re trying to pass to each other and he nods his head satisfactorily, smirking towards my direction. Maybe he thinks I’m a bad boy or…
“You’re a lucky dude, man.” Jake says.
I roll my eyes towards him as I ask for a response, “how’s that so?”
“Do you know who your mate is?” He asks as a surge of fear rises within me suddenly.
“I-I don’t know. We haven’t really gotten to converse for hours.” I stutter.
“Did you ask if she’s a werewolf or a vampire or something totally different from these?” She asks.
“I didn’t, actually.” I confess.
“When next you meet, ask.” He simply says.
I scratch the back of my neck as I don’t know the kind of expression I should put on to reveal what’s in my mind at the moment.
“Guy, what do you really think? She’s deceiving me or what?” I ask, feeling confused.
“Don’t spoil your mood yourself. Ask her who she is and that’ll determine if your mood will be lifted or it will spoil further.” He suggests.
