Jack’s POV
Years became months and months became weeks. Weeks became days and it’s only three days left to celebrate my birthday. Jake is suddenly tensed to welcome his wolf. Though we’ve heard a lot about transforming under the full moon, including attending lectures for it in the pack’s educational center and listening to dad’s verdict about it. How he went about his. But still, there’s this wave of tension arising from within us, causing us to fret and kind of postpone the time for transformation if possible.
“Thinking about this won’t do us any good,” Jake says, “come on, let’s hop in.”
I think he’s said that to demonstrate hopping inside the room but when I look up, I see a car at a stone’s throw to me.
“You bought a car?” I ask, amazed as my mood is lifted. He responds, “no, dad promised to take us out of the pack to chill out, enjoy lots of food and also visit the woods. He wants us to know more about the werewolf world, where we will eventually land if we fall into the enemy’s trap or clutches.”
“But I don’t think Alexander has this kind of car.” I object as I inspect the car.
“Yeah, you are right. I was also baffled like you are now. But he told me he purchased it recently and won’t be giving us much cash after we eat out due to the recent spending.” He says.
“He can’t tell me that,” I say and scoff, “I’d always get what I want from him as long as I am still his child. Let’s hop in and wait for him?”
“Sure.” He says as we both get into the car but we are shocked to see Alex waiting inside for us with Amanda beside him. I shudder for a few minutes before Jake convinces me that he’s the real person.
“I was waving at both of you but you didn’t see me. Is that how to be vigilant as a wolf?” Alex rebukes us but we both grumble at that speech. He turns to look at us with a deadly glare fixed on his face. I shake my head and scoff after he faces front and drives us away from the pack. I wave my hands at the pack, making some joyful noise.
“What about mum, dad? What about Nora?” Jake asks as Alex clears his throat, ignoring the question. I hope there is really nothing wrong with him. I don’t want to die few days to my transformation that I’ve so long waited for.
Dominic’s POV
The kids are in the car now and making some irritated noise. I need to show them what the wolf world entails so they won’t think it’s all about clocking eighteen years of age, transforming under full moon, sniffing the scent of your mate and locating them. I have successfully escaped from Dominic’s pack after I drugged Dominic and Harley.
I actually apologized and settled the issues between us so he wouldn’t suspect me to have some ulterior motive. After I offer him drink, I pass a glass cup to Harley as well and pass another to Amanda so we won’t be suspected, although it’s not rejected.
They slept off like dead men as I slowly leave the pack with Amanda. I don’t know the gate that’ll befall him as the Alpha. I don’t ever think he’ll be able to please the moon goddess with the way he rules and behaves.
I feel like I’ve drowned myself in my history and imagination as I jerk myself to reverie and begin to drive the car more responsibly.
My eyes look sleepy as I slowly park the car so that Amanda will drive it. We switch seats and she begins to drive down the road now. She actually drives better than I do.
I look at the kids as I don’t hear any more of their noise. They are sound asleep as the AC has had an effect on them. I smile sheepishly as I turn to face front. Silver wolf, Amanda, is actually going to show them a lot of wolf skills, how to defend themselves, the next thing to do immediately after transformation, when to start looking for their mates and how to react to people when being insulted or rude to.
Learning never ends actually. I am going to learn from her, tonight, as well. I chuckle slightly at the two sleepy heads who jerk awake now, looking to and fro like though they have been abducted.
“Aren’t we there yet? Jake told me we are gonna chill out. Isn’t it that? Deception, huh?” Jack suddenly voices out.
I face Jake. “Jake, what did you tell him? I told you to inform him about chilling out tonight, right? I really told you to say that? I wasn’t going to take anyone to any restaurant. We are headed straight into the forest where you’ll learn the things you need to learn.”
“Where will you park your car then and how many miles will we walk to get back into the car?’ Jack asks.
“You’re outspoken, yet fearful and so anxious.” I comment.
“It shouldn’t be like that. I’ve warned him several times.” Jake adds as Jack rolls his eyes at both of us.
“We are almost there. Pick up your backpack and let’s head to the bush to make some research.” Amanda joyfully screams.
“Bush? Forest? Training/skills? Research?” Jack questions.
“When you get there, your questions will be answered.” Amanda responds.
“Are we going to like lodge at a hotel first or a pack? One as decent as Alex’s?” Jack questions again.
“Not exactly.” Amanda responds, sighs, as she drives into a parking center. She stops the car and turns off the engine as we both heave a sigh of relief before making moves to come down.
I encourage the kids to be cheerful as I’ve been in their shoes before but Jack keeps asking me why Nora isn’t present. I wouldn’t bring her here in the first place. If she doesn’t trust me with the kids, at least her sister is right here with me. She might not be able to watch her kids bend and jump over complex barricades all in the name of training. But I just can’t tell Jack that. He’ll be mad at me.
“Sure this gonna work out?” Jack asks Jake and I chuckle as Jake shushes him. We lock the car as I sight Amanda speaking to a man. Maybe he is the one in charge of the parking center. I don’t bother asking her what she discussed with the man, as she approaches with a smile on her face.
She holds the kids gently as they are almost taller than she is. Are they? I can’t really say but they are almost same heights. Can’t say which is taller. Anyway, I’m taller than all of them and that’s why I am irresistible to many female wolves. I’ve got a broad chest, a muscular dick, six packs. I’m tall. I have deep and husky voice and most importantly, leadership skills. Even if anyone doesn’t recognize me as an Alpha yet, they can’t decline my offer to be their boyfriend.
We stand by the streets, about to cross to the other side of the road. I am glad Amanda can tame the kids to be silent and not be tensed or talkative about future matters. After a few more seconds, we cross to the other side of the road and begin to trail our way down the street.
“Into the woods.” Jack whispers to Jake and they both chuckle. We eventually get to the verge of the forest as Amanda turns her back to us so she can properly address us.
“If you sight any rogue, be it an animal or a figure trailing behind us, speak up on time. You’ve got no energy to fight them. Is that clear?” She instructs as the kids nod their heads in the affirmative.
“Why aren’t you nodding your head?” She accuses me and we burst into laughter as we walk inside the woods. It seems eerie but the wind is chilly and comfortable to be under. Jack and Jake keep staring around as they act like some experienced warriors spying on the enemy’s territory.
“We need to get to the field but there’s always a rogue to defeat. Alex will fight off the rogues while both of you cling to me. If you’ve never seen a rogue, you’d see one today. They are wolves like us. The only difference is that they’ve been banned from their pack, never belonged to a pack, or cursed by the moon goddess. That’s the difference between rogues and us.”
“Noted. We will cling to you.” Jake says as Jack quickly clings to me.
“Can’t I fight the rogue off with dad while the introvert clings with you?” He asks Amanda.
“It’s not an introvert or extrovert issue right now. It’s about compliance.” Amanda says, folding her arms across her chest as she marvels at his bravery and outspokenness.
Suddenly, a rogue emerges from the north direction as its speed begins to increase. I instruct Amanda to keep Jack and Jake safe as I throw my head backwards, morphing into a werewolf.
