Dominic’s POV
We have been brought to the court again. It isn’t something I wish for, but something I must go through.
Fifteen soldiers suddenly drop dead in this same Court as I am yet to discover who shot them. I trace the sound of the bullets to the upper left direction of this court. Harley gently trails behind, with a gun strapped to her fingers, ready to attack whoever wants to attack us. As the picture shows up, I quickly strap a gun to my finger. The one Harley flings at me. She’s helped me picked up a gun as well.
I suddenly realize it’s my Beta as I rush to pull him into a hug.
“Dominic!” He happily screams, “I’m so glad you’re back. This is just the beginning of our solid leadership and steps above other packs!”
“Definitely!” Harley says and smiles as she adds, “fighting!”
“We haven’t conquered a lot anyways. The members of the pack aren’t convinced yet. They have been brainwashed to believe the guy is the Alpha of the pack and any other person who claims to be, despite any proof given, won’t be chanced to rule the pack.” He says.
“How do we settle that then?” I ask as Harley also joins the conversation, moving forward.
“We need a silver wolf’s power. I think you’re close to one at a time like this,” he says, “you call her Amanda. She should be Nora’s sister.”
“You know a lot,” I say and smirk, “but can we forget about Amanda? She’s totally unreachable. She’s a traitor and if I even see her now, I’ll kill her.”
“Don’t say that,” he rebuffs, “we need her strength to reign as the top pack in this whole district. As the time goes, you might surpass the pack of the Alpha King and the moon goddess will switch crowns.”
“Oh, really? What about Orion? What’s he doing to his pack? I learnt he’s back to his pack and is refurbishing it. Has he gone so far and how do we know if he will build his pack to surpass the Alpha King’s pack before I do?” I ask.
“Don’t be tensed. I’ve got you. I’ll take measures to ensure the building of his pack becomes slow.” He assures.
“I don’t want some vague belief. What measures?” I ask.
“I can sneak into the pack and bribe the workers to stop the work for a week at least.” He expresses.
“No. That’s dull.” Harley says, “I know Alex quite well. How about I do the job?”
“How do we trust you?” I ask.
“I saved you from being killed a lot of times, on our way here. Why should I partner with someone that is against you? I can’t do that, Dominic.” She says.
“Let me try to trust you. But remember that once you lose my trust this time, you will never gain it in your lifetime.” I inform.
“We need Amanda to convince the pack members?” Harley asks and my beta nods.
“What about we locate the silver wolf the previous Alpha used? Rather than locate Amanda who is unreachable and reportedly a traitor, we can use the same silver wolf the previous guy used. He definitely would have used a silver wolf to divert their minds away from you, Dominic.” She says.
“That’s wise of you to say. But how do we locate the silver wolf?” I ask.
“I will just ask any of the wolves around. They know me. Tey can’t think I have an ulterior motive for wanting to know who the silver wolf is.” She says.
“I’m grateful for your assistance, Harley. Ben, I appreciate you. Follow her behind while I catch up with you by noon. Let me converse with the moon goddess.” I inform as they leave after we pull ourselves into big hugs.
Harley’s POV
“Hello. Please I need to have some conversation with the silver wolf. Where is she? I recently saw her but it seems she’s not in the pack at the moment.” I stop a werewolf moving in the pack.
She pauses the music she’s listening to as she responds, “check the Alpha’s quarters. There are several security wolves there and you have to follow protocols before you can meet her.”
“Thank you!” I appreciate before she is out of sight.
Dominic’s Beta winks his eyes at me as we head towards the Alpha’s quarters. As we get there, up to one hundred security wolves are around the particular room where the silver wolf is.
“She’s so special?” I ask as one of the security wolf fires shot at me. It penetrates into my arm as Dominic’s Beta gets me out of their presence as quickly as possible. We hurry towards Dominic who claims to be speaking with the moon goddess. As we almost get inside the court, we notice an overwhelming presence before him. You can’t see her face but you can feel her and see a shining light standing in air.
We can’t hear any word from their conversation but I won’t want to disrupt it. I shush the beta as he is about to scream at Dominic to come heal me. He has the instruments to remove bullets from people’s bodies and I regard that as intelligence as he’s known a time can come where there will be no option than to walk in front of those firing bullets at you.
As he completes it, I unintentionally let out an earsplitting scream as the instruments sting me in the bones. I pant heavily after the bullets are eventually removed. I can see Dominic running towards us, panting and sweating profusely. He must have had a tough time convincing the moon goddess about a thing.
“She was shot again? Did you find the silver wolf?” He asks as he lifts me to his hands and run towards the altar. As he places me in the ground, my healing is instantly completed as the effect of the moon goddess is still very strong on the ground and it requires intelligence to think it is a good way to complete my healing on time.
“I am sorry for what happened to you. Did you find the silver wolf?” He asks again.
His beta clears his throat before speaking up as I remain quiet still, trying to regain my energy totally first, “we found out she’s in a specific room in the Alpha’s quarters but the security there is crazy, man.”
“Armed? Up to twenty?” He asks as I roll my eyes at him and scoff.
“One hundred. Armed with guns, rifles, grenades, bombs. They even wore bullet proofs and have shields in case arrows are shot at them.” His beta relays.
“That’s mad. How do we even convince the wolves if we are to use Amanda? Since she is in a very high position, I don’t think it can work out just as we thought it.” He suddenly asks..
“It can work out,” I finally muster the strength to talk, “but she is the one the previous Alpha replaced with me. I saw her face through the mirror and that was one of the reasons the security wolf shot me. She is also the Luna of the pack and if we don’t act on time, she will overrule us and we will never be able to reclaim the pack.”
“I get it now. Let’s try to connect Amanda through mind link. It can work out this time around,” he says and I chuckle softly.
“Is it a resort?” I ask.
“Don’t ask me if you really know it is.” He responds as his beta struggles to keep the laughter bubbling up his throat.
“I’m not sure if this is gonna work…” He says but I interrupt, “it will work. Try it out!”
“Yes. I can connect her. She’s around!” He suddenly screams, happiness written all over his face.
“That’s great! Lure her rapidly!” I scream with joy as well.
“We are definitely going to win this. Fighting!” His beta cheers joyfully as Dominic goes deep down in the mind link with Amanda.
