Narrow Escape

Book:Pregnant For The Twin Alphas Published:2024-6-4

After father realizes I’ve lost so much blood, he slips a wolfsbane injection from his pocket. As he injects me with it, my wolf begins to react wildly but I can’t shift.
“Am I going to lose my wolf to this?” I ask. My voice is loud and father repeats it with the goal of mocking me. I don’t have enough strength to fight back and I can’t mind link Amanda to help me. Though I know she is facing the mission but she can at least kick father away so I can fight him better but she doesn’t.
Seconds begin to count for Dominic to be lowered to be underground prison again in which he won’t come up until after twenty four hours. We would have been caught by then. I know father well. He’d have our arms and legs amputated right in front of him and send us to the less privileged department. He’s just a wicked soul.
I suddenly see Amanda jumping right on top of the glass shield where Dominic is as both of them are lowered to the underground. I can see the dagger lying close to me with blood stains on it. As father hears the sound of the prison glass being lowered again, he gave a sigh of relief. As soon as he turns his back to me to confirm if he had truly gone down, I target the direction of his heart from behind as I stab him straight down with the last ounce of energy in me. Blood gush out of his mouth and fill the ground as I notice the camera.
There’s a CCTV very close to us but I turn my back to it in all I do. I muster some more strength as I stab him better, releasing more blood but he doesn’t seem weak anyways. I begin to care about Amanda and Dominic’s destination as I hurry out of his presence with the dagger and the gun should anyone try to attack me on the way. My lips are stained with blood and my whole body, dripping with blood since I was severely stabbed. My wolf released a very low energy because of the wolfsbane but I know I will recover very soon. I am an Alpha and my wolf is strong. I am now looking for the direction of the underground prison. It isn’t the pack cell. It isn’t the hole we narrowly escaped from. It’s definitely somewhere else.
I suddenly hid behind a pillar as I see up to ten security men, armed with guns and rifles, ready to fire shots at any stranger sighted. I strap the gun to my fingers, ready to oppose them once found.
“Show your face, coward!!” They threaten as they move like a livestock, finding who is right behind them.
I permit them to wander off to another ward. It saves the bullets and also the energy I am trying to regain. I can’t kill ten of them without sustaining an injury afterall. I suddenly turn my back to face the road to find the underground prison as I am met face-to-face with father.
“Think you can escape? Not from my pack!” He screams and lunges an attack at me and as I try to fight him off, I return to my senses and see that I am still sneaking around to find a way out of here. That had only come as a thought or warning to maintain focus and expect the unexpected. I finally find my way to the restroom and I can view outside of the pack from there. But she walls of the restroom are made with concrete. I can’t just kick it off with guns or my wolf’s strength.
I attempt to use my mind link and gladly, it works out.
“Amanda, where the hell are you at?” I ask as she also sounds glad to hear from me.
“Right beside Dominic. How are you able to contact me?” She asks.
“Don’t worry about that. Are you guys safe? How do I reach both of you?”
“We are safe but only in the underground prison. If we move an inch from here, we are gone. Even Alphas can’t escape. Your father is a real monster.”
“You could have simply called him Dominic’s father. He’s caused all this. I’m not involved in any of this yet I am trying to find a remedy. Don’t tag me next time.” I warn.
“Don’t lose guard. There might be someone beside you. Just find your way out of this place and I’ll meet you. Once you get out of this pack or mansion pack, mind message me and we’ll fight our way out of here.” She says and disconnects from the mind link.
I sigh deeply as I see the door of the restroom being rattled and someone speaking indistinctively. I slowly turn the knob as I shoot the dude on the head. He drops to the ground as everyone around shudders with fear and runs for their lives. They run towards the direction to exit the pack and I remove my clothes, hide the gun and disguise as a victim of shuddering from the gunshot as well. I run behind them and get out of the pack through the exit. The security werewolves there permit the exit since they know we will surely return to the pack. They can coordinate that.
“Man, let’s go.” A dude helps me up as they all return to the pack now. Why will I re-enter a dormitory I’ve been trying to escape from and now that I have?
I pull the guy into a hug. I slip the gun out of my pocket and shoot him straight this heart when I try to pull out of the hug. He drops to the ground as everyone is shocked to see that I am the one victimizing people.
I swiftly find my way out of here as I run into the jungle. I purposely avert the direction of the hole we escaped from as I can sight it from a distance.
I can’t believe this is where Jack and Jake escaped from. How the hell did they do it? If true, they deserve some accolades. I suddenly see fire burning up at some side of the pack. Everyone is confused at what is happening as father’s face is revealed, right in the pack. I lower my head and lay flat to the ground so his fiery eyes don’t locate me. He’s very angry at how I escaped and as I lift my gaze, I see him headed towards the direction of the underground prison as I remember that Amanda had told me to mind message her once I am able to get out of the pack.
I suddenly reforge the connection as she speaks up on time.
“Hey,” her voice sounds so frail as she speaks desperately, “just come behind the fifth floor. Exactly where the fire started burning. You’ll see us right behind the window. Come before the security get us out of here. They’ve gone to call the fire extinguisher to quench the fire but I think Dominic’s father caused the fire and it won’t be quenched by anyone.”
And then, she disconnects from the mind link. I hurry towards the direction she gave me but there was a barrier between me and the place she described – the concrete fence. As I lowered my head to think of a better idea, I notice that my wounds have been healed and my wolf is now agile. I take some steps back as I grunt wildly and morph into my werewolf. I take a few steps forward before I jump over the face, destroying all barricades and avoiding the shots being fired at me. I hurry to the fifth floor as I shatter the glass window with a few kicks of my claws.
Amanda and Dominic narrowly escape from the underground prison as it was the die minute. The moment their legs left the room, father breaks into that same room to destroy them. They mount my back as I jump over the fence agai and hurry out of the presence of father and the pack at large.
Just when I thought victory is ours at last, I see wolves lining up for battle, each having a gun strapped to his fingers as they trail behind us to track us down and defeat us completely. Amanda helps Dominic out of my presence while I wait behind. Once she signals that she is out of reach, I change my bearing and take to my heels. My wolf supplies topnotch energy as I run off from their presence. When I finally see Amanda and Dominic afar off, my heart races down and I slowly tread the path that leads to where they are waiting for me.
They seem to have flagged down a taxi. So soon? My wolf empowers me as I quickly reach their side and get into the taxi.
