Book:The Billionaire's Secret Babies Published:2024-6-4

After hearing the news that there was a patient in critical condition, and one of them even passed away, Bella couldn’t help but feel panicked. Moreover, it was clear that the nurse had previously stated that the patient who lost his life was a male.
Instantly, Bella remembered Edward’s figure. However, she knew that the man intended to save her life.
Whether due to miscalculation or otherwise, it seemed that Julia and the man accompanying her had sniffed out Edward’s plan. Because of this, they attempted to escape and eventually got involved in a fatal chase, leading to an accident. Afterward, Bella lost consciousness and found herself in the hospital.
Since her condition wasn’t too severe after the accident, Bella decided to follow wherever Samuel went. Taking big steps, she followed the obstetrician specialist as he moved to another emergency room.
“Doctor Samuel.”
One of the nurses who saw Samuel entering the room called out, inviting the young doctor to come in and see.
“Is the condition extremely critical?” Samuel inquired.
“Yes, Doctor,” replied the nurse. “Two patients suffered fatal injuries. The female patient experienced a severe impact resulting in brain hemorrhage and is currently in a coma.”
Samuel drew closer, checking and confirming for himself what had happened.
“Oh my God, Julia,” he muttered incredulously. Before him lay the motionless figure of the woman who was none other than Julia Estelle.
“And this patient?”
“Male, and pronounced dead a few minutes ago,” the nurse responded. “We tried to save him. But unfortunately, we couldn’t save his life.”
Samuel took a deep breath, lifting the white cloth covering the victim’s face slightly to see his condition for himself.
“Good grief.”
Samuel exclaimed, shaking his head. Hastily, he covered the white cloth back over the face he had just uncovered. His face showed a slight shock. He hadn’t expected what he had just seen.
“The patient’s condition is indeed very severe, Doctor. This is what prevented us from saving him. We truly sympathize with what happened.”
“Doctor Samuel.”
Bella called out. She, who had been standing by the door and could only listen, was curious about the male patient Samuel had seen earlier.
“Don’t tell me that was Edward,” Bella said afterward. Shaking her head, her face looked visibly tense. Her worry was evident on her beautiful face. “Please swear to me that the deceased patient isn’t Edward.”
“Bella…” Samuel’s voice sounded hoarse.
“Please make sure for me.”
Bella approached, tears ready to spill. For God’s sake. She was afraid that the patient who had passed away might be the man she loved.
“I want to see!” Bella insisted. This time, she wanted to make sure with her own eyes.
“No,” Samuel refused. “You can’t see him.”
“This patient isn’t Edward, right? I want to make sure myself!”
“No, Bella,” Samuel continued to block her. “I swear you wouldn’t be able to handle seeing him.”
Bella grew more frightened, especially seeing Samuel struggling to stop her. She wanted to confirm whether her suspicion was right or wrong. But seeing Samuel insisting, Bella became more suspicious.
“I beg you, Doctor Samuel. I want to see him. I want to make sure who—”
“You have to obey me, Bella. You can’t see him.”
Bella’s worry peaked. She became more convinced that the patient lying stiff was the man she loved.
“For God’s sake, don’t tell me this is Edward.”
Tears burst forth. Bella held onto the edge of the patient’s bed tightly. She cried uncontrollably until she ended up kneeling.
“Edward… please don’t leave me.”
“Bella…” Samuel called out, trying to catch the beautiful woman’s body. He attempted to calm her down. “Listen to me first.”
“It’s all my fault, Doc. I’m the one who caused Edward like this.”
Again, cries were heard. Even more painful than before.
“Forgive me, Edward. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have been reckless enough to make you end up like this. Please, don’t leave me.”
The cries continued. Bella even refused to be comforted.
“Edward… please don’t leave like this. Isn’t there a better way when you want to leave me? For God’s sake, Edward. Don’t leave me.”
“I’m not leaving you, Bella.”
Suddenly, a man’s voice answered from the door. As if recognizing the voice, Bella immediately lifted her head. She looked to confirm who she saw.
“Edward…”
Edward nodded. With a few bruised bodies and bandages, he approached and immediately embraced Bella tightly. He poured out all the longing he had kept bottled up for so long.
“I thought you —”
“Shh…” Edward hissed. He didn’t let Bella speak much. “I’m fine. How could I possibly leave you? I promised myself to stay healthy to take care of you and our future child.”
Tears burst again. This time, Bella fell into the embrace. Clinging tightly as if not wanting to be separated. The disappointment and anger she had felt towards Edward a while ago seemed to evaporate and disappear. They were replaced with a sense of emotion, sadness, and peace.
Undeniably, the love was still there. Despite any hatred and disappointment, Bella still loved Edward. Even the fear that had struck her, the fear that Edward had passed away, ultimately vanished.
Samuel, witnessing this moment, was also pleased. After being separated for so long, his friend could finally meet the woman he loved again.
“Are you alright, Bella?” Edward asked when their embrace loosened. He was afraid that something might be wrong with Bella.
Bella nodded, ensuring that nothing had happened to her.
“I’m fine even though I lost consciousness for a while.”
“What about the baby—”
“Don’t worry,” Samuel interjected the question. “Your baby is fine. I checked.”
“Thank goodness.” Edward breathed a sigh of relief. He was extremely grateful to find Bella and their baby in good health and not injured at all. “I would have gone crazy if you had been seriously injured.”
“It seems like God has blessed both of us,” Bella said later. Finally, she could smile a little.
“Was the deceased patient the man with Julia?” Edward asked later. His focus shifted to the figure lying not far from him, covered with cloth up to the head. After all, there was no one else involved in the previous accident.
“Yes,” Samuel replied. “His condition was severe. I’m sure this man was trapped in the steering wheel, and there were many shards of glass that tore his face.”
Hearing Samuel’s explanation, Bella shuddered reflexively. No wonder Samuel had prevented her from seeing. If she had insisted and seen the man’s figure herself, she would have had trouble sleeping for weeks.
“And… how about Julia’s condition?” Edward asked again. He wanted to make sure about the condition of his ex-wife.
“Julia suffered a serious brain hemorrhage and is now in a coma. After this, she will undergo observation again. The hospital is trying to contact her family.”
Edward took a deep breath. He never expected Julia to experience such a tragic event like today.
Not wanting to stay too long, Edward decided to take Bella out of the room immediately. He invited her to sit in the lobby to calm down.
“I’m glad to see you in such good condition now. For God’s sake, I was so worried that something might happen to you.”
Bella could see how Edward spoke the sentence sincerely. The worry was indeed evident on the face of the man sitting right in front of her.
“Thank you for trying to save me,” Bella said sincerely.
“No need to thank me. I should apologize to you. This all happened because of my mistake. I beg your pardon, Bella.”
Bella remained silent. She looked at Edward intently.
“I have forgiven you.”
Edward smiled. He took Bella’s wrist and kissed it.
“Thank you again, Bella. I truly regret what happened. I admit I was wrong. And… would you give me a chance to fix all of this?”
“What do you mean?”
Bella asked, of course. She didn’t understand Edward’s last statement.
“Let me take responsibility. I want us to be together again and start our relationship from scratch. To rebuild the relationship that was once interrupted. And this time, I promise not to repeat the mistakes I made before. I also swear to take care of you and our future child.”
Bella didn’t immediately respond. She thought carefully whether to accept Edward’s request to get back together.
“I beg you, Bella. Forgive me. This time, I promise not to repeat the same mistake. Allow me to take on the role of being responsible for taking care of you and our unborn baby.”
Bella wanted to refuse. But she couldn’t lie to herself that she still deeply loved Edward. However, the fact remained that he was the father of her unborn child.
“Bella…” Edward called out once again. “I truly beg of you.”
Bella remained silent for a moment. Then, shortly after, she nodded and gave her answer.
“Yes, Edward. I’m willing.”
“Does that mean you’re willing to marry me and become my wife?”
Bella nodded. “Yes, I’m willing.”
Edward couldn’t hide the happiness he felt. Finally, his dreams were coming true. And now, Edward vowed not to waste the opportunity that God had given him. He would do his best to take care of and make Bella and their future child happy. (END)
