“Julia, tonight Kairos is hosting a farewell party before he leaves for Italy. He invited me, you, and Bella to attend tonight.”
Edward deliberately contacts Julia by phone. Yesterday, he forgot to inform his wife about the event Kairos would be hosting.
“A party? Tonight? Quite sudden. Besides, I might be coming home later than usual today.”
“So, you won’t be able to make it?” Edward asks to confirm. Deep inside, he prays fervently that Julia won’t be able to attend. That means he would have the chance to go with Bella.
“I might not make it in time. Besides, I’m not sure if Kairos really wants me to attend his party.”
Edward maintains his tone. He tries his best to act normal and not show any hint of joy because Julia seems to be unavailable to accompany him tonight.
“Well, alright then. I’ll just relay Kairos’s message.”
“Sure, Honey. Forgive me for not being able to accompany you. Anyway, I’ll get back to work.”
After Julia hangs up, Edward decides to head home right away. He takes this opportunity to meet Bella and apologize for the misunderstanding that has occurred between them.
Edward hopes his efforts will succeed. In any case, he’s sad to argue and misunderstand Bella.
Meanwhile, at home, after receiving a dress from Kairos, Bella decides to get ready. Exactly at four in the afternoon, she deliberately cleans herself with the intention of having ample time to do her makeup, which usually takes quite a while.
Fortunately, the dress Kairos gave her fits her perfectly. Somehow, he knew her body size, Bella admits. She doesn’t deny that the dress he gave her is very suitable and makes her look incredibly beautiful and elegant.
Not wanting to waste time and fearing Kairos’s driver might arrive early to pick her up, Bella hurriedly sits in front of the dressing table. She focuses on applying makeup until she hears a knock from outside.
“Just come in, Clara. The door isn’t locked.”
Bella thinks it’s Clara who’s knocking. After all, her assistant has been going in and out of the room. But Bella’s assumption turns out to be wrong. As she busily reaches for perfume in the wardrobe, suddenly there’s someone embracing her from behind.
“I missed you.”
Bella is startled. Turning around, she finds Edward. Although they both long for each other, instead of returning the embrace, Bella pushes him away and deliberately avoids the handsome man. She’s still angry with Edward.
“Bella… why are you like this? Are you still mad at me?”
Bella remains silent. From her face, it’s evident that she’s reluctant to answer Edward’s question.
“For God’s sake, Bella. Forgive me. That night, I was ready to leave the room. But suddenly Julia woke up and pulled me back into bed. I didn’t mean to lie to you at all.”
Bella doesn’t care. She ignores Edward’s explanations. Turning away, she intends to pick up her phone from the bedside table.
However, before her hand can reach the phone, Edward pulls Bella. Then he gently lays her down on the bed.
Bella tries to resist. Because she’s still angry, she’s not interested in accepting Edward’s sweet gestures. It’s not fair for him to apologize and then everything is fine.
However, Bella’s rejection seems to have no effect. Edward can dominate Bella and without needing permission, he kisses her eagerly as if it’s a reflex to the longing that has been suppressed for almost a month.
Edward continues to kiss Bella. Devouring, savoring, and even trying to seduce until Bella finally melts and reciprocates. However, she’s still reluctant. Even as they kiss, Bella tightly hugs the man above her body.
“I missed you. Really missed you,” Edward whispers as they unravel their kisses.
Bella remains silent. She continues to hug while burying her face in Edward’s chest.
However, when Edward is about to uncover Bella’s dress, Bella’s hand immediately pushes him away. She refuses what he wants to do.
“Why?” Edward asks immediately. After all, they could do more than just kissing.
“I don’t want Julia to suddenly come and ruin everything while we’re making love.”
“No need to worry,” Edward assures confidently. “Julia is coming home late today. We still have time for a quick lovemaking.”
“No, Edward.” Bella still refuses. “Julia is not to be trusted. Besides, I have to get ready. Kairos’s driver will be picking me up soon.”
Facing rejection from Bella, Edward reluctantly gets up from Bella’s body. Standing up, he shakes his head.
“You don’t need to wait for Kairos’s driver. We can go together to Kairos’s party.”
“But—”
“Oh, come on, Bella. Stop rejecting me all the time. We don’t have any more time to be together except for today.”
After thinking it over repeatedly, Bella agrees to Edward’s offer. They both go to Kairos’s party together.
During the journey, Bella and Edward use the time to express their longing for each other. Occasionally, they embrace affectionately. Even when they arrive and before getting out of the car, they manage to steal another kiss.
Upon entering the venue, Kairos immediately welcomes them. Bella even enjoys the event, especially since Edward seems to be visibly protective of her amidst the crowd of guests.
However, the happiness Bella feels doesn’t last long. What she said earlier turns out to be true; Julia is unpredictable. As evidence, the woman who supposedly was coming home late tonight suddenly appears at Kairos’s party. She even approaches Edward directly and takes him away to be with her.
