Can Bella be angry with Edward?
But, indeed, that’s what she’s doing right now.
Just imagine, when her longing peaks, hoping to hug or kiss even for a moment, Bella daringly contacts Edward.
At first, she felt lucky that he responded. Since it was already late at night, Bella was convinced that Julia was already asleep, so she could meet secretly even for a short while.
Edward agreed.
The man promised for sure.
However, after waiting for so long, Bella waited in vain for Edward to come. Eventually, she ended up falling asleep.
Frustrated and considering that Edward couldn’t keep his promise, Bella decided not to confront him for these two days. Ignoring all phone calls and short messages containing apologies sent by the man.
Anyway, Bella is upset.
Her mood has been bad for the past month, and this incident makes her even more annoyed.
No need to be reminded, Bella knows her place isn’t anyone to Edward. Not a girlfriend, let alone a lawful wife, which means she has no right to be angry and understands the risk of being a mistress.
“Forget it, Miss. It’s not good to be constantly upset like this.”
Clara, who has been accompanying Bella in the backyard, tries to console her. Previously, she was a loyal listener when Bella poured out her deeply upset and angry feelings towards Edward.
“Don’t worry about me, Clara.”
“But, because you’re upset, you’re not even hungry. What should I tell Mrs. Julia if she asks if you’ve eaten and taken your vitamins?”
“You can lie,” Bella replied casually.
“And if caught, then I’ll be punished? Besides, if you don’t eat, it’s the baby in your stomach who will suffer. So, please. Don’t be selfish.”
Bella took a deep breath. So torn about how she should behave. On one hand, she’s not interested in doing anything. But, involving Clara, her assistant, makes things difficult because of her actions. And again, she also has to realize there’s another life she has to consider.
“Okay then, I’ll eat later. Just let me stay here alone for now until I feel a lot better.”
“Alright. I’ll leave you alone here.”
“But, Clara…” Bella hesitated for a moment as Clara was about to get up from her seat. “Do you think my attitude is excessive?”
Clara smiled. The woman shook her head.
“No, Miss. Not at all. It’s human to feel upset and disappointed like this.”
“I know I’m not entitled to force Edward to meet me. But, for God’s sake, I’ve been holding back for over a month. Suppressing the longing that gnaws at me. If only the two of us could meet outside the house, I would have done it long ago.”
Bella realized that her movement was very limited. All this time, she could only meet and see Edward when he was at home. Not to mention making an appointment to meet outside, even visiting her own mother Julia didn’t allow it.
“Just be patient. That’s all I can say,” Clara tried to encourage. She also felt sorry for what Bella was feeling. “Most importantly, you’re still in the same house. You can meet and be given the opportunity to see what Mr. Edward is doing. Yes, even though most of what you see hurts your eyes too. Once again, this is the risk you’ve chosen.”
Bella laughed bitterly. Upon reflection, she’s really pitiful.
“You’re right,” Bella nodded. “I’m the one who chose this winding path. I shouldn’t complain too much.”
“That’s why, if you feel strong and sure, just continue. But if tired, I suggest stopping rather than being constantly upset and hurt. Again, you deserve to be happy too, Miss.”
Bella carefully considers the advice Clara gave. Amidst her conversation with Clara, her phone suddenly rings. Initially, Bella intends to ignore it. But upon realizing it’s Kairos calling, she promptly answers.
“Yeah, what’s up, Kairos?”
“Hello, Princess Bella. My beautiful Love. How are you? All good, I hope?”
Kairos greets enthusiastically and full of praise. From the start, he seems like someone who deeply cares for and pays attention to Bella.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Surprised to hear from you. Is there something you want to say?”
“Of course,” Kairos replies. “Tonight, there’s a party at my place. I hope you and Edward can attend.”
Bella is silent for a moment. She carefully considers the invitation Kairos just extended.
“Thank you for the invitation, Kairos. But, it seems like I won’t be able to make it.”
“Don’t worry.” Kairos reassures casually. “If you’re hesitant to go with Edward, I can instruct the driver to pick you up. Or do you want me to pick you up myself?”
Bella feels even more uncomfortable. What would people say if the party host goes to the trouble of picking her up? But that’s not the issue here.
“It’s not… not like that, I mean. It’s just that, I’m not sure if I’ll be allowed to go out, especially at night.”
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll take care of it for you. You don’t have to worry about Julia. Let me handle everything.”
Kairos keeps persuading, hoping Bella will agree to attend the party he’s hosting tonight. However, instead of giving an immediate response, Bella continues to ponder and weigh whether to accept or decline the invitation.
“I’m not sure if I can go tonight.”
“What else are you thinking, Bella? I hope you can come and liven up the party, because I’ll be leaving for Italy for quite some time in the next few days. Consider tonight’s party as a temporary farewell party from me.”
Bella feels uneasy. In the end, she agrees to Kairos’s invitation.
“Alright, I’ll come tonight.”
“Thank you for your willingness. Don’t worry, I’ll send you a dress to wear tonight. Just wait for my invitation.”
After hanging up with Kairos, Bella turns back to Clara. She informs her assistant about what needs to be prepared.
“Tonight, I’ll go to the party Kairos is hosting. I hope you can help me with the preparations.”
“With pleasure, Miss. I’ll arrange everything. But first and foremost, you need to eat.”
