CHAPTER SIXTY-NINE
ASTRID’S POV
For the first time in many weeks, I slept in Apha Asher’s arms again and right now, I feel elated.
Last night, he took quite a while to come check on me. I almost lost hope, thinking he had changed his mind again, but my knight showed up and made my night a memorable one. He didn’t let go of me for a single second and he wouldn’t stop touching my stomach.
The butterflies in my stomach went mad yesterday.
I love him.
I love so much and I just want things to be right between us.
I pray the moon goddess sees us through.
So, I’m pregnant and that means I can’t shapeshift or train hard like other shewolves. I hate this fact, but there’s nothing I can do about it.
Training or shapeshifting will harm this precious pup I’m carrying and I can never let that happen.
Alpha Asher will never forgive me either.
However, that doesn’t mean I’m oblarged to stay at home all day. If I can’t train, then I’m going to watch other’s train and this morning, I have chosen to watch the little pups. The onse between three to ten years old.
Their training is not very intense and Arya and three other Shewolves are in charge.
They all look so adorable throwing their little punches at each other and I can’t wait for when my Alpha baby will join them.
I know he or she will be a kickass!
The entire training ground is so disorganized and their coordinators are having a hard time putting them to order. There are cries here and there and some keeping wanting to run back home.
Cuteness over loaded.
I think I’ve found what I’m going to be doing for the rest of my pregnancy. I’m going to come here and help out with these little pups.
“What are you doing here?” I hear Arya’s voice asks and I turn to face her.
“I came here to admire these beautiful pups. I can see you girls are having quite a hard time organizing them”
“Ugh! You have no idea. Everyone thinks organizing the junior pups is the easiest task to carry out, but they have no idea the hell we go through everyday” She laments assge places both hands on her waist.
“Now I understand why you always just get back home and go straight to bed first”
“Ah… I’m glad you are getting the point.”
“Uh… well, I was thinking, since I can’t train in this condition, how about I help you girls out henceforth?” I ask and shr immediately starts shaking head.
“No, no, no… my brother will never agree to this. Besides, this is not as easy as it looks. These pups are hyperactive and that is something you cannot handle right now” She denies flatly and I feign a puppy look.
“Come on Arya, I can’t just stay at home all day, I need to find something to do else I’ll die of depression”
“Alright then, you will help at the kindergarten. I know you like books, so reading to the pups at the kindergarten won’t be bad”
“Why didn’t I think of that earlier?”
“Knowledge is far from you Astrid” She mocks and I frown.
“Thank you very much”
“Uh… don’t thank me yet. You are only going to do if my brother accepts to let you work at all”
“What do you mean by that?”
“Im case you didn’t know, everyone in this castle is on the watch for you. The least thing that happens to you will reach his ears before you even feel the pain. He is so protective of you right now, Astrid and it will be miracle if he lets you do any work. But still, try to ask him”
I heave out a heavy sigh of frustration as I rub my palms together.
What have I gotten myself into?
“Okay then.. I…” My words are interrupted by sudden loud screams from the field. Both Arya and I look up only to see the children running towards the dressing rooms with some very strange men following them.
“Stay right there!” Arya cautions as she runs into the field to see what’s going on, but I don’t listen to her.
Those men seem to be frightening those kids and that’s not good at all. I take on my heels into the field and direct the children to run into the dressing rooms where they will be safe for now.
The voice of a little girl’s screams gets my attention and when I turn behind, I see her on the ground with a grown ass man pulling her leg from behind , making her rub her stomach against the rough ground.
“Sick bastard” I run over the man and before he knows what’s going on, I clear him to the ground with my super strength.
What I just saw him do has made me so angry and there is so much energy in me that has to be released. Immediately he let’s go of the little girl, she runs into one of the rooms while I stay back to teach the man a lesson.
I walk behind him and pull him by the hair. Tiva who has been dormant all this while sprints on my mind and with all my might, I pick him up by the shoulders and fling him hard to the other side of the field. I hear him scream loudly as he falls to the ground and a satisfied smirk forms on my lips.
I turn around only to see Arya and the other shewolves looking at me with their mouths wide open.
No one messes with a pregnant werewolf and goes Scott free.
ASHER’S POV
I rush into the residential area and bile rises in my stomach when I see the commotion that is taking place there.
These fools.
My soldiers are already having a good time breaking their bones and when their leader sees me, he signals them to stop fighting and they all gather behing him , some grunting and holding their broken body parts.
Alpha Adolph will never seize to amaze me with his pathetic way of doing things.
“Why are you here?” I ask calmly, but the rage burning in my heart can set this entire pack ablaze
“Our Alpha, Alpha Adolph, sent us”
“Your Alpha sent you to come and cause this kind of commotion in my pack?” I ask furious with my eyes turning yellow. The leader of the group takes two bold steps closer to me and I swear of he dares take another step, I will snap his neck and feed his body to the crows.
“Yes, he did. He also said to tell you that he will be needing One hundred men to join his army and fifty shewolves who will work as slaved in his pack”
“Tell your Alpha I will grant that request of his only in his dreams. Now, if you know what’s good for you, leave my pack this minute before I change my mind and have you all killed!” I threaten but the baboon just stands there on the spot and keeps staring at me as if he was daring me to fight him.
He doesn’t even look like a Beta or Gamma, he should be an ordinary guard and kiiling a man like him will not take me up to a second.
“I’m warning you, leave tmy pack before I order my guys to kill you all!” I warn again and this time, he looks around and when he noticed that he and his guys are outnumbered, he signals them to leave and they all march away.
I heave out a heavy sigh of frustration as I turn to Kane who is standing before me, looking all bloody.
The only thing Kane does to invaders is kill.
He kills them with no mercy.
“Burn the dead bodies” I order and he bows his head and leaves my presence.
I trust him to do that properly.
“I’m glad you were able to handle the situation before I came. You all have made me proud” I address the guards and they all bow their heads down.
I turn on my heels and make my way back to the castle, fuming in anger.
When I get there, I see Freya standing by the door to the living room and the thought of what her father just did makes me all the more angry.
“Baby, what’s wrong? Who were those?”
“Well, your father decided to tease my anger this morning Freya and I’m going to rain hard on him when I get to that pack”
I say as I make my way into the living room and she follows me.
“What do you mean by that?”
“It means your father is the absolute worst and this time around I’m not going to let him go for doing this. Someone needs to talk some sense into that empty head of his”
And I will.
He has always been the one summoning me to that pack, but today, I’m going to barge in and give him the talk of his life!
