Chapter 479 The Devilish Truth

She said, “A woman.”
Dorothy bit her lip, her eyes were filled with complicated emotions. “Germaine, Jeremy sent Rosalie over. After dropping her off, Juelz and Mr. Stanton immediately arranged for a bone marrow examination. Her bone marrow is a match for Belle’s. This means that Belle can be cured.”
“What the f*ck? How could this be?” Germaine widened her eyes, and her face hardened. She was speechless at the news. “Only Rosalie, that b*tch, could cure Belle after we’ve been searching for so long. Is this good fortune? Or is it just an ill-fated destiny?”
Dorothy smiled wryly as well. “Perhaps… it’s because Rosalie owes me so much. In the end, she will have to use her bone marrow to repay me.”
After confirming that Belle was safe, Germaine seemed to be at ease. She raised her eyebrows and smiled wryly. “Dory, Rosalie has a dark mind, she’s schemed against you multiple times. She almost killed you and Belle. I feel that since she is in your hands, you should stab that b*tch once you’ve taken enough of her bone marrow to heal Belle. We can’t forgive her.”
“I don’t have to do anything to Rosalie.”
Dorothy shook her head with a smile. “Have you forgotten? She murdered someone. A prison guard. She had long been listed as a murderer, wanted by the whole country. She needs to pay for that with her own life. Once Belle recovers, Juelz will send her to prison to pay for her crimes. By then, her life won’t have anything to do with me.”
Upon facing a vicious woman who wanted nothing more than to kill her and replace her, even if she was her nominal sister, Dorothy knew that she couldn’t soften her heart anymore.
If she softened her heart for her, then she was just being cruel to herself.
“That’s right, such a venomous woman should be shot to death. Even if she’s alive, she’d only pollute the world.” Germaine snorted to vent her anger, then she asked, “Dory, what about Credence?”
Upon hearing Germaine mention him, Dorothy took a deep breath, and her eyes filled with tears. She said in low spirits, “He is still undergoing an operation in the emergency room. I don’t know the specific details yet. I was sent back to the ward at the time. The doctor diagnosed me and said that I fainted from worrying too much. I’ll be fine after getting some rest.”
“Then, not long after, I woke up. Juelz told me that you went to find Jeremy and that you had successfully persuaded him to send someone who was a suitable bone marrow donor for Belle to the hospital. When I heard this, I was worried about you.”
“After all, Jeremy had once dealt such a heavy blow to you. I was really worried. I was afraid that he would torture you again. In the end, who knows what he’d do to you…”
For a moment, Dorothy had mixed feelings about Jeremy, someone who was related to her by blood. She found it funny but also very hard to accept.
How could such a cold-blooded man, who never cared for human life, be her half-brother?
Germaine slowly lifted her red and swollen lips. She looked up at the snow-white ceiling and laughed at herself. “Don’t take my relationship with him seriously. Even if I didn’t go to find him for Belle this time, I would have to face him sooner or later. He doesn’t love me, yet he would sleep with me. Sooner or later, I will peel off every layer of his skin one by one to show him who’s boss.”
As she spoke, the dire look on her face made Dorothy gasp. However, she knew that she couldn’t intervene in their love affair.
If it weren’t for Belle’s life, Germaine wouldn’t have to go to Jeremy that morning, and things wouldn’t have ended this badly.
In short, she had become a burden to Germaine.
Dorothy stretched out her hand and slowly held Germaine’s cold hands. She felt so guilty that she couldn’t utter a single word.
Dorothy left Germaine’s ward with a heavy sense of guilt in her heart. She could only feel one thing, and that was her exhaustion.
She rubbed her temples and cleared her mind. After that, she dragged her heavy feet towards Rosalie.
It was an average-sized office, and it was divided into an inner room and an outer room.
The outer room was simple. There was a desk, a few chairs, and a restroom.
Rosalie was locked within the inner room. The door was closed and a huge copper lock was placed on the door.
In order to prevent Rosalie from escaping, Juelz guarded the door and dared not leave.
This vicious woman was their only hope of treating Belle. This was such a critical moment, there could not be any accidents.
Seeing Dorothy slowly walking over, Juelz took two steps back from the back door and made way for her. When Dorothy passed him, he fixed his eyes on her face and asked softly, “Is Germaine all right?”
“Germaine has always been a carefree person, as though she didn’t care about anything at all.” Dorothy sighed and said, “On the surface, she might be smiling happily, but in truth, she might be shedding tears in secret.”
“Jeremy, that motherf*cker.” Juelz clenched his fists. A bone-penetrating viciousness flashed across his handsome face. “He doesn’t love Germaine at all. All he does is take his revenge. He took revenge on Germaine. He took it on me. He took revenge on the entire Sherman family.”
“Yes, not only did he take revenge on the Sherman family, he also hates Credence’s father.”
Dorothy suddenly remembered that Credence had said that he would tell her the truth after he had dealt with Melanie. However, so many things had happened since then, and she had forgotten about it.
Dorothy turned towards Juelz and asked in a calm voice, “Do you know why he hates Credence and his father?”
Juelz looked down. He didn’t give her an answer at first. Instead, he loosened his tie and took a step closer to her. He whispered, “Didn’t Credence tell you why?”
He had learned about the truth of why Jeremy hated Credence and Sheldon, completely by chance.
The moment he found out, he was so shocked that his eyes nearly failed him.
He really didn’t expect Jeremy to be Ysabelle and Sheldon’s illegitimate child.
Because this means that Jeremy and Credence were related. It was such a complicated relationship!
Dorothy felt a terrible sense of panic in Juelz’s voice. She wanted to shake her head to say that she didn’t know, but Juelz suddenly held her shoulders. His voice seemed to have come from somewhere distant then suddenly got closer to her.
He said, “Dory, it’s better to let Credence tell you about this in person! However, I really hope that you don’t know anything about it yet.”
After that, Juelz stopped. He closed his eyes for a while before opening them again. He smiled, but it wasn’t a full smile, “Sometimes, it’s better to live in ignorance so that we can live in bliss.”
For example, if he had never learned that Dorothy was actually his younger cousin, then he would be so much happier than he was right now.
He loved her, but he couldn’t love her anymore. He did not even have the right to love her. This was a pain that was horribly uncomparable.
Dorothy was dazed on the spot and looked at Juelz blankly. When she was about to ask, Juelz helped her into the office. They walked to the door of the inner room and he unlocked the copper lock with a key. He pushed the door open and gently pushed her in. He said softly in her ear, “Rosalie is inside. If you want to beat her or chop her up, do it. I’ll be waiting outside. I promise that even if you stab her with a knife, not a single person will know about it.”
