Chapter 453 Deal With It Later

When Credence reached downstairs and arrived at the place where Lily had fallen, it was raining heavily.
The heavy rain poured down, and the rumbling thunder was accompanied by lightning, it seemed to be tearing the skies apart.
Marvin was holding on to the little girl, her face was extremely pale, and her mouth was bleeding. She had just survived a meter-long drop and landed on a safety cushion. She was rushed into the emergency room.
Jonathan tagged along with an anxious look on his face. “Marv, the little girl is in a lot of pain. Slow down, be gentler.”
Lily’s thin hair was in a mess. She couldn’t open her eyes at all. She murmured sadly, “Uncle, my father, where is my mother… help me find my father and my mother, I’m in so much pain, my hands hurt, my feet hurt, my whole body is in pain, am I going to die?”
Hearing the little girl’s painful and helpless groans, Marvin’s face turned white. He pursed his thick lips into a straight line and quickened his pace. He rushed towards the emergency room on the second floor.
Jonathan, who followed him from behind, looked at the little girl’s twitching face, he let out a frustrated roar, grabbed Lily’s little hand and comforted her. “Kid, don’t be scared. It’s okay. Your parents are waiting for you in the operating room. Once you are cured, they will take you home.”
As soon as she heard Jonathan’s voice, Lily gripped his hands. At the same time, a large amount of blood gushed out of her mouth.
Marvin was shocked. He shouted at the man who was rushing towards them, dragging his injured legs. “Credence, she’s dying. Where is Belle? What should we do?”
“Get her into the operating room. We will think about everything else later.”
Credence’s calm words were very powerful, it immediately stabilized Marvin and Jonathan’s slightly flustered moods.
Lily, who was unconscious, was handed over to the doctors in the emergency room. When Marvin withdrew his hands, he found out that they were covered in blood.
Before entering the room, the doctor looked at Credence and the others and shook his head in disappointment. “The girl is in a very late stage of skin cancer. She has just suffered a very serious injury. The possibility of her recovering is very small.”
“You have to save her, no matter what.”
He remembered that Lily was Belle’s only hope, and Jonathan panicked. His voice was hoarse. “Use the best medicine and the most advanced equipment you have. No matter what, you have to save Lily!”
Marvin wasn’t looking very good either. He turned his head around and looked at Credence, who was quietly standing by the door. He instinctively comforted him. “Credence, don’t worry. She is being treated right now. Lily will definitely be able to survive. She will stay alive until we transfer her bone marrow to Belle.”
“It’s useless now.”
Credence stood in place. “Just now, Melanie told me that she had injected a type of drug into Lily’s body. It isn’t harmful to Lily, but if she donates her bone marrow to Belle, it will have a fatal impact on Belle.”
“In other words, our only hope of saving Belle has been destroyed by Melanie.”
Jonathan was flustered and murmured, “Credence, do you mean that even if Lily is saved, she can’t donate her bone marrow to Belle? Then… what about Belle? She has less than three months left. Are we just going to watch her die like that?”
Marvin’s eyes sank. “Credence, if anything happens to Belle, I’m sure that Dorothy wouldn’t be able to handle it. You must prepare her for this.”
Credence lowered his eyes. A bone-chilling pain emanated from his pitch-black eyes. “I know. I’ll leave this place to you guys. I have to go back to the hospital to accompany her.”

Dorothy fell asleep in the middle of the night. Suddenly, a cold gust of wind woke her from her sleep, and she felt a cold sweat on her body.
She reached out her hand to touch her neck, took a deep breath, and sat up on the bed. She switched on her bedside lamp and stared at the white wall in front of her.
Since the doctor told her to stay calm, and that she should relax, she had since stopped having nightmares for a while.
However, she did not expect to have another terrible nightmare again.
In her dreams, she watched Belle being carried away by a huge snake. The snake slid away in an instant, and she could do nothing but cry.
It was just like six years ago, Credence thought that she was the one who ordered the hooligans to take Rosalie’s innocence away. Hence, he pressed her under his body like a demon from hell. He grabbed her hair and strangled her neck, he even killed one of the twins that were in her womb.
Apart from shedding tears, she was completely helpless and couldn’t do anything.
Would Belle leave her in the end, just like that boy?
Before Credence left, he told her that he had found a little girl whose bone marrow matched Belle’s. Did something happen along the way?
Impossible!
There shouldn’t be any problems. She must be overthinking things again.
Juelz was thinking about Melanie. It was very likely for her to sneak up on Belle and Dorothy in the middle of the night. So he didn’t sleep for the entire night. He guarded Dorothy’s ward with his eyes wide open.
At that moment, he noticed that the lights inside had turned on, Dorothy was awake. He quickly pushed the door open and went in.
He was three meters away from the hospital bed when Juelz saw Dorothy leaning against the headboard in a daze. She was staring at the white wall in front of her. She looked terribly pale!
Before she went to sleep, her mental and physical condition was fine. How did she end up like this just after taking a nap?
Did she have a nightmare again?
Juelz took a few steps forward and grabbed a glass of water from the bedside table. He quickly handed the glass of warm water to Dorothy. He asked worriedly, “Dory, what’s wrong with you?”
“Juelz, it’s you! I… I’m fine.”
Dorothy accepted the glass, as she awoke from her daze. She raised her head and showed Juelz a pale smile, “It’s so late. Why aren’t you asleep? Why are you here?”
“Didn’t Credence go to the city hospital? Before he left, he asked me to guard you outside your ward tonight and not to leave you.” Juelz looked at Dorothy with his soft eyes. His eyes glistened when he looked at her. “Melanie was released from prison by Jeremy for a large sum of money. She is clearly a maniac. No one knows who she’ll go after now that she’s out. To prevent her from doing anything to you and Belle, I’m standing guard outside, I didn’t sleep, I couldn’t.”
“Juelz, thank you. I’m fine now. It’s almost dawn. I don’t think Melanie will be coming. You should find a place to rest.”
“Why are you still distancing yourself from me?” Juelz walked over and placed a hand on Dorothy’s shoulder, there was a bitter smile on his face. “Yesterday, my uncle called me and said that the paternity test came back positive. You are indeed his biological daughter, that makes me your cousin.”
Upon hearing this, Dorothy’s body trembled. She only looked at him and smiled. She didn’t say a word.
She had never thought that one day, her relationship with Juelz would go from being friends to cousins.
However, this was a good thing for the two of them.
At least, he would no longer obsess over her, and she didn’t have to feel guilty for denying his love.
Seeing how silent she was, Juelz naturally understood that if he expected too much from her, it would only make things awkward for the two of them.
He coughed twice and turned to walk out. As he walked away, he said, “Dory, my stomach seems to be hurting, I’ll be off.”
Dorothy waited until it was dawn, but Juelz still didn’t come back. Perhaps, he was hiding in a corner.
When it was almost seven o’clock in the morning, she got a little hungry, and she was worried about Belle, who was lying in another ward. She got out of bed, put on her soft black shoes and held her raised belly with both hands. Then she started to walk out.
When she walked through the corridor, Dorothy stopped in front of a slightly closed door.
There was only a narrow gap between the corridor and the room. She could not see what was going on inside, but she could still feel the chilling aura of a man and the faint smell of cigarettes. The stench of cigarettes entered her nose.
Credence was inside.
Dorothy stood outside silently, and listened to what he was saying over the phone.
There was an unspeakable sense of loss in his voice.
He whispered with a bitter smile, “Marvin, is Lily really dead? She died from brain damage? I really didn’t expect our efforts to be in vain. We spent so much time searching for a candidate who was a match for Belle, but it was all for nothing.”
“Yes, I know. I won’t tell her about this for the time being. She is weak and pregnant. If she finds out that Belle’s only hope is gone, I am afraid that she won’t be able to handle it. It will affect the child in her womb.”
“Okay, I know what to do. As for Lily’s death, all of you should keep it a secret. I’ll tell Dorothy myself when the time is right.”
It was quiet outside the door. Suddenly, a loud bang rang out across the room.
When Credence heard the loud noise, he knew something was wrong. He immediately took the phone away from his ear and turned to look at the door.
He saw Dorothy’s stiff body, and her face was filled with panic, as though she had heard everything, or perhaps she didn’t hear anything at all!
