Dorothy was being so lovingly stared at, her heart was in a mess. She was really anxious.
However, she didn’t answer him, so he kissed her again. His tongue explored every part of her mouth, and it almost took her breath away, forcing her to give him an answer immediately.
She really couldn’t stand it. When the man lowered his head and kissed her again, she quickly shrank back, and her long eyelashes fluttered. “Credence, give me some time, let me think about this. However, no matter what, we need to wait until Belle gets better.”
“Okay, I can promise you this, but don’t let me wait too long.” The man held her petite face, and the thirst in his eyes subsided a little. He was serious. “I can bear it, but only for so long. Don’t think I’m going too far. All men are like this. Once they’ve found their beloved women, they will always be at attention. For if they don’t, they aren’t real men at all.”
“I was a little impatient with you! But, Honey, do you know that you are the only person in this world with a body that can make me go insane? The moment I touched you, I got addicted to you, and I will never be able to forget you.”
Credence closed his eyes and then suddenly opened them again. He looked at Dorothy and spoke with a hoarse voice, “The mistakes I’ve made in the past have made you unable to act freely in front of me as you did before. What else could I do, apart from acting like this?”
“You are so beautiful and wonderful, you can definitely attract the attention of several good men. Back then, Juelz circled around you like a dog, he always made me jealous and crazy. Fortunately, after you’ve acknowledged your biological parents, he became your cousin and lost the heart to pursue you. But after Juelz, there will be many more like him. If you don’t accept my feelings, I will never ever feel settled. Besides, I have lost all dignity in front of you. How shameless do I have to be to pursue you all over again.”
“I really want to save our marriage and our relationship. Yet, you retreat from me, you are scared, you don’t trust me. So that is why I will take the initiative, I will flirt with you, and get angry with you. I want to slowly pull out that petrified heart of yours. I want to pull it back into my heart, and make you love me again!”
“Now, I just want to be by your side, I want to protect Belle and the child in your belly, I want to watch him grow up safely so that I can take care of all three of you. The four of us will be a happy family.”
He lowered his head, gently held her face in his hand, and spoke with a pious and serious tone. “My dear wife, it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe me! In the future, I will prove it to you with my actions, I will slowly heal that scarred heart of yours.”
His tender voice pulled Dorothy into a whirlpool of dizziness where she fell into a daze.
She was completely overwhelmed.
It wasn’t until Belle’s innocent face flashed across her mind that she was pulled out of the intoxicating vortex that she had been sucked into.
Credence was never a man of words. Yet, he had suddenly said all that with such earnest sincerity. She found all of it extremely charming, so much so that she found it hard to refuse him.
However, she could not linger in his charming declaration. As of now, the most important thing to do was to cure Belle’s illness.
Thinking of this, Dorothy stretched out her hand and pushed him away. She said while still in a daze, “No, I must save Belle first. We need to treat Belle’s illness.”
As soon as she said that, she stared at Credence. There was a trace of a smile in his dark eyes.
He looked at her and smiled. “Honey, I have good news for you. We have found a suitable bone marrow donor for our daughter.”
“What?”
Dorothy couldn’t believe her ears when she finally heard the good news that she had been longing to hear. She was in a daze for a moment. “Really? Have you found a donor that is a match for Belle’s?”
“That’s right, we have!”
“That’s good, that’s great, that’s excellent! Belle can finally be saved, she can finally be saved! She doesn’t have to worry anymore. She can carry her schoolbag like an ordinary little girl and go to school…” Dorothy’s eyes were red, and she couldn’t help but cry out happily. Tears of joy filled the corners of her eyes, and they slowly streamed down her cheeks.
At first, all she could do was wait and wait until she was severely desperate. She didn’t expect that her hope would be reignited once more when she was at her absolute lowest.
The world suddenly went quiet, and only her joyful heart was beating loudly.
Dorothy raised her hand to cover her chest which was beating violently. She raised her teary eyes at Credence and smiled. “I am so thankful for Mr. Stanton. How should I thank him?”
“Why should you thank him?” Credence got a little jealous. He stretched out his hand and took her small hand. He couldn’t help pushing his manhood closer and closer towards her. He murmured hoarsely, “If you really want to thank him, then help me with this first!”
How strange, Dorothy was now able to understand his intentions immediately. She looked at him quietly, and all sorts of emotions surged through her heart. In the end, she scoffed. She raised her hands and gently pounded on his abdomen, “If you do that again, I will continue to ignore you even after Belle gets treated.”
Her words seemed very serious, threatening even.
For the sake of his future happiness, Credence had no choice but to restrain himself. He held her hand, looked elsewhere, then looked back at her with a slightly perplexed expression. “After Belle recovers, we will hold another grand wedding. I will return you everything I have owed you.”
“It’s all in the past. Nothing will change, no matter how much you try to fix it.” Dorothy was more optimistic now. She shook her head and said, “I don’t care about those things. All I care about is whether you can keep to your word.”
No matter how beautiful and touching his words were, it wasn’t as effective as taking action.
Credence’s eyes filled with regret. He knew that he had hurt her badly, which was why she instinctively rejected him and was doubtful of him.
It would be terribly difficult for him to earn her trust again, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a chance.
As long as he continued to treat her well, she would eventually love him back, and he would win her back.
He gulped as his deep eyes filled with love. “Okay, I will listen to everything you say, watch me fulfill all of it.”
Seeing how arrogant he was, Dorothy turned her head away, she didn’t want to look at him.
Suddenly Credence’s phone rang, and it broke the rare and warm atmosphere they shared.
It was Marvin, who hadn’t boarded his plane yet.
As soon as Credence answered the call, he heard Marvin’s crazed voice over the phone. “F*ck, Credence, something big just f*cking happened!”
