Jeremy lazily stepped into the room. He was dressed in a black suit and matching pants with a cigar in his mouth. He raised his eyebrows and spoke casually.
“Mr. Scott, have I kept you waiting? I had something to do before on my way here, so I had to make you wait. However, since you’re asking for my help, I didn’t think you’d mind.”
Wilson followed closely behind, his body was shaking and he almost laughed out loud.
God d*mn, he hadn’t seen his boss act like such a snob for so long. Even he was a little surprised by this.
“So long as you’re here, I don’t mind.” Credence frowned and slightly turned his head to the left. He shot a glance at the bar manager who rushed over, and he ordered in a low voice, “Serve the drinks.”
Benjamin was standing behind him and didn’t make a sound. All he did was closely watch Jeremy’s every move. He was tense and alert.
Jeremy didn’t care about that and didn’t take offense by it. He continued to sit back on the sofa and crossed his legs on the table while smoking his cigar. His movements seemed lazy, but his face was sharp and ruthless. A viper-like sneer appeared across his face.
The manager looked at him and felt the air surrounding them turn cold. He opened the bottles one after the other and neatly placed them on the table in two separate rows. There were 12 bottles in total.
After that, Benjamin gave him a look, and the manager immediately left after wiping off the cold sweat on his forehead.
Credence picked up a bottle of vodka and pointed it at a nearby glass, he slowly filled the glasses with vodka, his movements were smooth and elegant.
After pouring out three glasses of vodka, he put the bottle away. A flickering light flashed in his eyes.
Credence gradually formed a faint and smile on his face, “Mr. Sherman, in order to show you my sincerity, I would like to make a toast to you.”
With that, he drank all three glasses in one go.
He finished all the vodka in a matter of minutes, all three glasses were completely empty.
“Great! Mr. Scott, you really are a straightforward person, but…”
Jeremy slowly raised his head and looked at Credence. He narrowed his charming eyes and chuckled. “This amount of alcohol isn’t enough. Why don’t you drink three whole bottles?”
What the f*ck, three bottles of vodka was enough to make an elephant drunk.
Benjamin’s expression immediately changed. “Mr. Sherman, you go too far!”
“What gives you the right to interrupt me? Who the f*ck do you think you are?” His gaze was as cold and vicious as the venom hidden between the gaps of a viper’s fangs. He looked at Credence and roared out. “If you don’t drink three bottles, then we’re not talking, your choice!”
Just as the tension in the room was about to collapse, Wilson couldn’t help but add, “Mr. Scott, you only have one chance, don’t lose it.”
The show was about to start. Oh god, he was so excited that he couldn’t keep the pinhole camera attached to his cufflink steady. What if the camera broke?
On the other side of the sofa, Benjamin took a deep breath. He lowered his head and whispered to Credence, “Mr. Scott, I don’t believe they intend to take things seriously. I am sure they won’t stop at three bottles of vodka, they must have even worse things in mind! You might not be able to manage all that vodka. Are you really going to drink it?”
“I must!”
Credence was determined, and he smiled. He raised his hand and pressed his aching temples hard. He narrowed his eyes and said, “What will happen to Belle if I don’t?”
If anything bad were to happen to Belle, Dorothy might not be able to go on living. She would fall into despair, she would hate him to her very core. What would he do then?
Without Dorothy and his children, his life would be a fate worse than death.
His voice was hoarse. “Benjamin, you don’t understand how important my wife is to me. I can’t lose her, do you understand?”
Benjamin clenched his teeth and his voice became tenser. “But, Mr. Scott, I can’t just sit back and watch you do this to yourself…”
Before he could finish, he was interrupted by Credence’s deep voice. “Then stand outside!”
Benjamin was flustered, but he didn’t say anything else. He gritted his teeth and glared fiercely at Jeremy. After that, he turned around and quickly walked out of the room.
The moment he left and closed the heavy wooden door, he saw Marvin standing quietly behind him. He was shocked and shouted, “Mr. Jules, how long have you been here?”
“About half an hour or so.” Marvin glanced at his wristwatch, he then raised his head and stared at the red door plate. He narrowed his eyes. “How’s the negotiation with Jeremy going?”
When he received Credence’s message, he hurried over with some tough men. He barely had time to install a secret infrared camera in the dark corner of the ceiling in the room. Just a while ago, he turned on the video in the next room and found that he had installed it at the wrong angle. He could only capture a small portion of the bar table and Credence’s figure. Jeremy and Wilson could not be seen in the video at all.
This meant that their video recording would be incomplete, there would be loopholes.
“It’s not going too well.”
He thought of Jeremy’s excessive request and blurted out, “Mr. Jules, he’s demanded Mr. Scott to drink three whole bottles of vodka before he’d be willing to negotiate.”
Marvin frowned. “Three bottles isn’t enough to take down Credence, but it’s still going to be difficult for him! I guess Jeremy’s going to be asking for even worse things next.”
“Yes, I’m also worried that things will turn out this way.” Benjamin smiled bitterly and sighed. He said, “But for Miss Belle, for the children in his wife’s womb, Mr. Scott must do it.”
“This grudge between Credence and Jeremy is very complicated. We can’t help him even if we go in. Let’s just wait and see.”
After that, Marvin motioned for Benjamin to keep up with him.
The two of them walked into the private room next door. Benjamin counted four strong men in black suits, all of them had a laptop in their hands. The six of them, with six pairs of eyes, stared at the screen attentively, they were hyper-focused on everything that was going in the room.
At that moment, inside the room, Credence had just finished drinking the last drop of alcohol. His stomach felt like it was on fire, it was burning with pain.
He endured the immense pain and quietly leaned back on the sofa. He stretched out his hand and ripped off the tie around his neck. He then unbuttoned his black shirt, revealing his tight chest muscles. He looked up at Jeremy, who was on the opposite side, without any expression on his face. “I’ve finished. I’ve also brought an agreement for the transfer of thirty-five percent of the company’s shares in this book. Now, tell me your conditions.”
After that, he picked up a thin stack of papers beside him, shook them hard, and threw it all at Jeremy’s arms.
This stack of papers was worth tens of billions of dollars, and they all fell into Jeremy’s arms one after another. However, he didn’t even look at them. He smiled and said. “Mr. Scott, listen carefully to my last condition.”
