Leilani was thrown on to an empty hospital, as she was unconscious.
The sleeve on her right hand was rolled up, there was a pinhole mark from the blood test that was recently done on her.
Marvin walked over, poured himself a cup of cold water, and splashed it on Leilani’s face.
Leilani woke up with a jump as the cold water dribbled off her face. The moment she opened her eyes, she caught sight of Credence, who had a murderous look on his face. She panicked as she struggled to scream, only managing a high-pitched croak out of fear.
“Ah ah…!”
Her voice was annoyingly loud, causing Credence to frown. His sharp eyes focused on Leilani, and he got straight to the point, “Your sister is Dorothy’s real mother, isn’t it?”
“No, she isn’t. How could that be possible? How could my sister be Dory’s mother?”
Leilani had no idea how she arrived at this plain-looking ward from Dorothy’s luxurious one. She also didn’t know why Credence poured water on her. She realized he was furious at her for something. It dawned upon her that if she didn’t answer him properly, not only would he make her return all his gifts, she would have an even bigger price to pay for it.
Not minding the cold water she was drenched in, she got out of the bed and stood next to Credence. Forcing an ingenuine smile on her face, she anxiously defended herself. “Mr. Scott, there appears to be a misunderstanding. Dory is my daughter. I gave birth to her after being pregnant with her for ten whole months. She’s literally a piece of me. How could she be Ysabelle’s? Surely you must be mistaken!”
She had no idea how things went wrong, no could she phantom why Credence was so suspicious of her now. So long as there was no concrete evidence to prove her story otherwise, she was going to stick with it.
How selfish! Not only does that self-centered woman Ysabelle, have a son who was worth ten billion dollars in assets and is accompanied by a man like Yezoo who loved her with all his heart. Now she was to have a daughter who married a man like Credence as well?
Had her own daughter not passed away from a severe illness a few weeks after she was born, then Dorothy might never have married Credence.
Her daughter was so cute when she was born. She was lively and lovely, and she was so much more beautiful than Dorothy.
“So it seems you aren’t going to admit it, excellent!”
Credence flicked the ash off his cigarette and smirked. “Marvin, read out the blood report to her.”
“What blood report?”
Leilani was still standing there puzzled as Marvin walked over and placed the report in her hand. “Take a good look for yourself.”
Leilani was dumbfounded. She looked down at the results, where it clearly states that her blood type was AB, while Dorothy’s was a type O. It was impossible for the two of them to be related.
“No, no, no! This can’t be true! Mr. Scott, you’ve faked this report to frame me! You intend to ruin my relationship with my daughter. Why are you doing this? Ah…”
Marvin reached over and slapped her hard on the face, she screamed out in pain.
“Frame you?” Credence laughed. “Leilani, you probably don’t know this, but I am the most cautious person when it comes to finding the true identity of my wife’s mother! I have to be, so I am able to find as many relatives as she has out there. I need them to find a matching bone marrow donor to save my daughter’s life.”
“But… Mr. Scott, it’s not like that. Maybe the hospital’s test results are inaccurate?” Leilani was terrified, she broke out into a cold sweat, but she was adamant to keep up the act. “Mr. Scott, have you forgotten? Last month, when Dory needed my blood to save her life, I gave it to her, didn’t I? I gave 400ccs of blood from my own body to save her life. That alone is enough to prove the fact that I am her mother.”
“Still preaching that lie, are you? No wonder you’re still mingling in the entertainment circles at your age.”
Credence spat out a puff of smoke and narrowed his eyes. “Don’t worry, we’ll help reveal your true colors soon enough. What is real will be real, no amount of lies will ever change that.”
Frightened by Credence’s cold resolve. “What, what do you want?”
“What do I want?” Credence sneered. “I want you to admit that your sister, Ysabelle, is Dorothy’s biological mother.”
“Mr. Scott, you… How did you find out?”
After blurting out that question, Leilani caught herself and panicked. “No, no, I am Dory’s mother, that b*tch Ysabelle could never have a daughter like her. Because after she gave birth to Jeremy, her uterus was bleeding profusely. It became impossible for her to bear another child.”
Even in the face of obvious evidence, she still insisted that she was Dorothy’s mother. This really annoyed Credence.
There was no need to waste any more time talking to this shameless woman. After all, she was still Dorothy’s aunt in the end.
Credence did not want to destroy Dorothy’s relationship with Leilani, so he ignored her shameless behavior. He rolled off in his wheelchair and left the ward. He instructed Marvin, who was standing beside him. “Stay here. When it’s dawn, get Leilani to call Ysabelle. Make sure that she tells her to get here as soon as possible!”
Marvin calmly nodded. “Who should inform Yezoo and Jeremy about this?”
“I’ve got some people in mind for the task.”
Credence raised his hand and pinched his temples. He spat out a name from his lips. “Juelz!”
Marvin was flustered and then realized what was on his mind. “Understood, Credence! Now Juelz will know that your wife is actually his cousin. No matter how much he likes her, he has to give up.”
Credence’s eyes drooped as he slowly lit a cigarette, he didn’t say anything.
The two of them continued to discuss the matter for a few more minutes. Finally, they decided to let Jonathan be the one to inform Juelz about Dorothy’s identity.
With his silly personality and his propensity to stir up trouble, he would be delighted to handle this matter.
Sure enough, when he was given this responsibility to rile up Juelz, Jonathan was so happy, he hugged Marvin and ran off wildly. “Hot d*mn, I’ve always hated that damned jerk. He could have gone for any other woman, yet he chose to cling onto Credence’s wife, what the actual f*ck!”
“But now, Dorothy was Juelz’s cousin. Hahaha, if he continues to shamelessly covet her, he’ll be an actual b*stard! This really was too much, but so very exciting!”
Marvin was speechless at the idiot in front of him. He raised a leg and kicked Jonathan away. “Get out of here and get to it!”
“Alright, Marv, I’ll do it right away!”
…
Fifteen minutes later, with a cigarette in his mouth, Jonathan walked into Juelz’s ward. He stared at Juelz, who was leaning against the bedside. Finally, he blew out a cloud of thick, white smoke. He then threw the cigarette butt into an ashtray. While laughing out loud, he began to speak. “Juelz, I have some very important news. About your, oh, no, about Credence’s wife, do you want to know who her real mother is?”
Having decided to no longer pursue Dorothy, Juelz dejectedly returned to his ward. Now Jonathan came to mock him. Juelz was in such a bad mood he yelled out. “I don’t want to know! F*ck off Jonathan, go back to wherever you came from.”
“F*ck, what are you shouting at me for? Go home and yell at Yezoo instead, if you’ve the guts!”
Juelz was surprised. “What do you mean? What does Dory have to do with Yezoo?”
“You don’t know sh*t! She has everything to do with him!”
Jonathan shook his head with a proud look on his face. “Wouldn’t you like to know? Beg, and maybe I’ll tell you!”
“If you don’t want to tell me, then f*ck off! I’m not interested.”
Germaine entered the room with the hospital bill in hand. As she saw these two grown men quarreling in the middle of the night, she had to ask. “D*mn it, what are the two of you fighting about now?! Dory’s still unconscious. How can the two of you still have the urge to argue?”
Jonathan was startled by Germaine’s loud voice and soon came to his senses. He turned his eyes to Juelz and snorted. “Juelz, listen carefully. Credence has just confirmed that Leilani isn’t Dorothy’s biological mother.”
A trace of light flashed past Juelz’s eyes. Since Jonathan mentioned Yezoo, he connected the dots in his head. His head drooped as he replied. “Ysabelle is Dory’s real mother, isn’t she?”
“Yes, that’s correct.” Jonathan walked closer towards him. “In other words, Dorothy is your uncle’s biological daughter, and that’s a fact. You and Dorothy are cousins. You will never be with her.”
“Juelz, for her sake, for your sake, and for everyone’s sake, you should just give up!”
Having said those cruel words, Jonathan turned around and left the ward.
