It was really late at night. Due to how quiet the area was, Juelz’s outburst seemed several times louder than usual, it was especially intimidating.
Credence ignored him. He looked back and motioned for Jonathan and Marvin, who were pushing him in a wheelchair, to get closer to the operating room.
His indifference only angered Juelz even more. He ignored Germaine and rushed towards Credence, shoving her frantically behind him.
“Credence, you should have been the one to die, not Dory. Go to hell, go to hell!”
As he gritted his teeth, Juelz clenched his fists and smashed them viciously on Credence’s face.
Seeing how aggressive Juelz was, Jonathan was the first to lose his composure. He stood behind Marvin, took a deep breath, and shouted back, “Juelz, are you insane? Can’t you see that Credence is injured? F*ck, you’re attacking an injured person on a wheelchair! You call yourself a man?”
“Juelz, calm down!”
Marvin shouted in a deep voice and was quick to react. He grasped the handle of the wheelchair and pulled it back, moving Credence away from Juelz’s furious attack.
However, Credence ordered him to stop. “Marvin, don’t move. I will sit here and take his punches.”
He was dressed in a black suit, which added to his aura that was fierce and strong. His legs were plastered up and stretched from the wheelchair. He had a blank look on his face.
Dorothy was his woman. Since she owed Juelz a great debt of gratitude, he would pay him back for all his effort. This was expected of him.
Obeying Credence’s order, Marvin realized what he had on his mind. He tightened his lips, slowly released his grip on the chair, and stood behind it. He slightly bent his legs to support the wheelchair from the oncoming assault.
If Juelz dared to go too far, he would be the first to rush in and beat Juelz up.
Jonathan saw Marvin letting go of the handles, but didn’t understand why. He turned his head and asked. “Marv, you’re the only one who can deal with Juelz right now. What’s going to happen to Credence now that you’ve let him get beat up? Do you want to watch Credence get beat up by Juelz? F*ck, are you even his friend?”
“If you can’t understand what’s going on, then just shut up. Credence knows what he’s doing.”
Jonathan was furious at Marvin and was about to respond when he saw one of Juelz’s heavy fists land on Credence’s face.
Germaine, who was standing aside, seemed indifferent to everything happening, but she was crazily cheering her cousin on in her mind!
Great job, how awesome!
Credence was a jerk who never cherished Dory, he deserved to be beaten up.
Not all men were as blind as Credence, many of them would recognize how great she was.
He abandoned Dory and treated her like trash just to flirt with another woman. Dory still had plenty of suitors waiting for her.
Germaine despised Credence. Her beautiful eyes shimmered with glee. She crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the wall, resting at a casual pose as she watched the fabulous show.
Bash!
The sounds of flesh and bone being pummeled on could be heard, it was loud and dull.
When Juelz drew his fist back, the ring on his pinky finger was so sharp that it had pierced Credence’s ear.
“Juelz, if you haven’t had enough, then keep it up, I won’t back down!”
Credence gritted his teeth, his face remained stoic. There wasn’t the slightest trace of pain on his face. Blood was slowly trickling down his earlobes.
Then he reached out and grabbed a paper towel from Marvin. He pressed it on the wound and gently wiped it away. Without giving Juelz a look, he tossed it into the trash can beside him. Then, he took out a cigarette, tapped it lightly with his palms, and put it in his mouth. After that, he took out a lighter and lit it.
With a clicking sound, the lighter brought a small flame to life.
The side of Credence’s chiseled face was a sight to behold. Even though the other men present were all good-looking, they paled in comparison to Credence.
“Credence, stop pretending to be a tough guy. Don’t think I don’t have the guts to tear you apart. What have you given Dory in those four years of your marriage? Apart from sadness and despair, have you ever given her any love?”
Noticing the flame from his lighter, even Juelz couldn’t believe how good-looking Credence was.
He was handsome, so what?
He couldn’t be forgiven for all those heartless things he did because he was handsome! He didn’t deserve Dory’s forgiveness just because he was good-looking!
Germaine suddenly took out a steel rod and handed it to Juelz. She raised her eyebrows and smiled. “Brother, use this, it will be much more enjoyable!”
Juelz came to his senses and took the steel rod in his hand. He glared at Credence seated on his wheelchair and scoffed. “Credence, beating you with fists just isn’t enough. Not at all. I’m going to use this. I’d like to see which one is harder, your bones, or my steel rod!”
Credence’s face darkened. Before he could say anything, Jonathan had already rushed over. “D*mn it, Juelz, how could you use that to hit someone. Do you intend to kill Credence so that you can take his wife and children? You’re a heartless jerk.”
Looking at Juelz and Germaine who were standing in front of him, Marvin felt a dull pain in his head. He pinched his forehead and looked at Juelz. “Do you want to kill Credence?”
Before Juelz could respond, Marvin frowned and continued. “Juelz, have you considered the fact that if you kill Credence, Jonathan and I will bring you to justice. Even if we don’t sentence you to death, you can bet we’ll have you spend the rest of your life in jail!”
“By then, Dorothy would have lost the only two men who could support her, and Belle, as well as her unborn child, would lose their father. Who do you think she can rely on then?”
“Without you and Credence, do you think that Dorothy can continue to safely live in this world with two young children?”
He made a lot of sense. Especially those last two sentences. Those thoughts struck Juelz’s mind into clarity. He gradually calmed down. Looking up at Marvin, he gritted his teeth and threw the steel rod away. He then turned to shout at Credence. “Credence, I’ll stop beating you up for Dory’s sake, not because I’m afraid of you!”
“And I am willing to be beaten up by you for her sake.”
Credence looked up with his long and narrow eyes and stared at the red indicator lights above the operating room. He was motionless. He felt tremendous pain throughout his entire body, but none of it was as painful as the hurt he felt in his heart.
Until he knew that Dorothy and the child in her womb were safe, the pain he felt in his heart would not subside.
It reminded him of the times when she bit down on his chest with her teeth when they would make love.
While in a daze, he heard the faint creaking sounds of the operating doors opening.
That creaking sounded like the call of nature beckoning!
