Dorothy had watched Credence and Jeremy’s exchange silently. Credence was extremely confident, and his features were cold. His aura was so strong and imposing that it completely overpowered Jeremy.
He was too handsome!
When she saw Credence striding towards her with warmth and tenderness in his eyes, Dorothy smiled at him. “Help me get Germaine out of here.”
“Sure.”
Credence walked towards her and handed her a brand new phone.
Dorothy didn’t realise what was going on at first, but she still subconsciously reached out to take it, and their hands met.
She was a little surprised, “Credence, why are you giving me a phone?”
At that, Credence smiled. “Use this from now on. It’s the same model as mine, so we’ll be using couple phones.”
Looking at the white phone in her hands, Dorothy didn’t really get his underlying meaning aside from it being a romantic gesture.
The next second, Credence caressed her red lips. His gaze focused on her face. He placed his lips next to her ear.
What on earth was this man doing? Why was he kissing her in front of so many people?
Dorothy didn’t have time to dodge him, and she was wrapped up in his scent. Her heart raced, and she couldn’t push him away, not that she wanted to.
He smiled as he whispered in her ear, “It’s a wedding anniversary gift, Mrs. Scott!”
After that, he pecked her on the cheek, but she was too shocked to respond.
Throughout the four years of their marriage, Credence had never given her a proper gift, let alone anything that matched his.
In those four years, he’d never put in effort into any of his gifts to her.
At that moment, all of their past memories flashed in Dorothy’s mind.
A feeling of sweetness mixed in with heartache surged in her heart, and she felt like her efforts had finally paid off.
Credence slowly loosened his grip on her waist, his tender gaze sweeping over her blushing face. His Adam’s apple moved, and he said, “I’m sorry that I couldn’t hold a grand banquet to celebrate with you. The timing’s just not right tonight.”
When he spoke, his eyes shone, and Dorothy was the only person reflected in his eyes. An unspeakable urge grew in his heart.
Dorothy panicked at the hungry look in his eyes. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself, and once her racing heart slowed, she shook her head and said, “Credence, let’s leave that for another time. Let’s get Germaine out of here right now.”
Dorothy carefully placed the phone in her bag, then bent down and pushed Germaine towards the elevator with all her strength.
A lock of hair fell into her eyes, blocking her sight. She pushed it behind her ear.
It probably itched her, because she scratched at her cheek lightly.
The glossy, dark lock of hair seemed to morph into a bunch of feathers, lightly brushing against Credence’ throat. His mouth was dry, and his desire surged.
Credence’s gaze swept from her ear to an unspeakable location beneath her collarbone. His blood boiled.
Perhaps because she’d given birth, Dorothy’s body had changed a lot. She was now a lot curvier, and she was a lot more seductive than before.
She was like a ripe cantaloupe. She smelled as sweet as one and tasted as delicious as one as well.
Every time he laid eyes on her, his desire was always uncontrollable. He wanted nothing more than to have her under him, so that they could make love throughout the night.
It was in a man’s nature to fall for a beauty like her.
Especially when such a beauty happened to be their wife!
Credence’s desire for Dorothy was so strong that even Benjamin could sense it. He silently trailed after them, trying hard to remain unnoticed.
Being able to see Mr. Scott flirt with his wife was such a rare scene. Benjamin didn’t want to disrupt them, then end up being exiled to Afliton or some deserted island.
Germaine’s heart wrenched at how sweet Dorothy and Credence were. She slowly turned her head away and stared at the white walls listlessly.
Dory had been through so much pain and suffering to win Credence’s heart. This was what she deserved.
How about herself, though?
She’d loved Jeremy deeply for more than two decades, and all that she’d gotten was a thoroughly whipped body and heart.
Love was such a painful thing.
Love had hurt and scarred her, and she didn’t want to love anybody anymore!
Germaine closed her eyes tightly, not wanting to see Jeremy anymore. She murmured, “Dory, quick, get me out of here!”
“Okay.”
Dorothy’s heart twisted at Germaine’s ashen face. She didn’t say anything more and just quickly pushed Germaine forward.
It was a smooth journey.
Dorothy found it strange that Jeremy and his men didn’t move at all.
Even more weirdly, nobody tried to stop them from leaving. They just allowed her to push Germaine into the elevator.
It was only when the indicator showed that the elevator had arrived at the first floor that Wilson scratched his head and asked Jeremy confusedly, “Boss, why’d you allow Credence and Dorothy to take Miss Germaine away?”
“If I don’t let them go, Germaine will hate me forever.”
Jeremy’s eyes narrowed, and his ruthlessness was evident. “If it weren’t for the fact that Germaine can’t take anymore bloodshed, do you think I’d let them off the hook so easily?”
“We have plenty of time to waste, though. Once the drug takes effect, I don’t need to do anything else. It’ll easily bring Credence down.”
Wilson immediately understood what he was talking about. He flattered, “Boss, you’re the best. You’re awesome, you’re a genius, you’ll live forever.”
Jeremy ignored Wilson’s nonsense. A faint smile formed on his lips.
He believed that, sooner or later, Germaine would return to beg him for Dorothy’s sake.
At the same time, with Credence’s help, Dorothy successfully got Germaine to the hospital that Belle was at.
Ever since Rosalie had kidnapped Belle, Credence had amped up the security detail here. There was no chance for even a fly to get in now.
