Chapter 308 All In Vain

As Wilson rushed into the room, he could smell the strong stench of blood. All of a sudden, he had a bad feeling about the entire situation. He looked around the room and began to yell out anxiously.
“Boss, are you alright?”
The room was a mess. A bloody belt could be seen on the snow-white floor, while the surroundings were stained with blood.
There was no doubt that it was all from Germaine.
Wilson’s first thought was that they were finished.
After experiencing such a terrible beating, Miss Germaine would definitely never forgive his boss.
If he were Miss Germaine, he would definitely not forgive him as well.
After thinking about it for a few moments, Wilson noticed that Jeremy was standing with his back to him. He had clenched his fists and was punching the wall hard repeatedly.
It was obvious that he was in great pain and regret.
And so, he was torturing himself. Both his hands had turned bloody from his efforts, even his skin and flesh were splitting apart.
“Boss, stop hurting yourself! If you continue to do this, you might lose both of your hands!”
Feeling upset, Wilson rushed towards Jeremy and held onto Jeremy’s stiff body. He wanted to walk him to his bed.
The moment Wilson’s fingers touched Jeremy’s shoulders, Jeremy fell backwards.
The moment Jeremy fell to the ground, Wilson saw blood spew out of his mouth.
It was as if his soul had left his body. His eyes were blank and dazed, and he stared at the ceiling listlessly, then said hoarsely, “Wilson, get back to the office and get rid of all my Scott Group shares.”
“Apart from that, find Rosalie as well. Make her give up every single share from Scott Group that she has, and send her to prison as soon as possible.”
“You don’t have to worry about me, I won’t die so soon! Go and get everything I just said done right now!”
“Boss, why do we have to give up all our shares from Scott Group?”
Wilson was greatly confused by this. “If we keep this up, that b*stard Credence will definitely go bankrupt, and he won’t ever be able to make a comeback. Our plan is already two-thirds complete, and we’re so close to success. Do you really want to give it all up?”
After a moment, Wilson came back to his senses as he realised something, “Boss, you’re doing this for Miss Germaine, aren’t you?”
“But, we’re almost at the point of bringing down Scott Group and trampling Credence down! You have waited and prepared for this moment for so many years, so much so that you suppressed your feelings for Miss Germaine. Won’t everything be in vain?”
When he heard this, Jeremy’s body froze. But the cruelty and coldness in his eyes was slowly replaced by tenderness. He smiled bitterly and said, “If this plan of mine is ruined, I can easily arrange another one. But if I don’t back down now, I’m afraid that Germaine will never forgive me for the rest of her life! Wilson, I must do this.”
He did not tell Wilson the whole truth. At this moment, even if his heart were made of stone, it couldn’t handle the consequences of being hated by Germaine.
Germaine was nothing but loyal, and the only reason she would come to see him today was definitely for Dorothy’s sake. She had come over to plead for Scott Group.
She had only wanted to help her friend, yet she was beaten and tortured by him.
He had revealed his monstrous and despicable side to her. If he still didn’t agree to Juelz’s request, if he did not grant Germaine this, he knew that her view of him would definitely be destroyed forever.
If he lost Germaine’s love, then what was the point of owning the entire world?
“But… Boss, it’s such a pity! Don’t you want to reconsider this?” Wilson struggled to speak. He wanted to make Jeremy come back to his senses.
The main reason why they were able to successfully plot against Credence this time was because they’d calculated his every step, and they’d gotten lucky.
They could easily take advantage of Credence’s coma and destroy Scott Group. It was the perfect plan.
Jeremy raised his hands and rubbed his temples. His face was pale and sported a haunted expression. He looked like a dead man walking. He swept his eyes over to his nosy subordinate. “That’s enough, no more nonsense from you. I’ve made up my mind!”
After getting glared by Jeremy, Wilson shivered and hurriedly began to concede, “Alright, Boss, I will listen to your orders. I’ll get right to it.”
He turned around and took two steps forward. After that, he turned around and asked with concern, “Boss, the floor is cold, do you need me to help you get into your bed?”
“Get out!” Jeremy barked out.
Wilson dared not stay for another moment and ran out of the door in fear.
At the door, Blade and Locus looked sad and depressed. They came up to Wilson and began to ask meekly, “Mr. Wilson, how is the boss? Is he angry with us?”
“Get out of my way! Leave me alone! Didn’t you hear the scolding I just received?”
Wilson shouted angrily. Then, he took out his mobile phone and immediately called Rosalie.
However, she directly hung up and didn’t answer the call.
“Motherf*cker, what a b*tch!”
Wilson continued to curse in anger. He frowned and kicked Blade and Locus. “Come on, let’s go. We have someone to catch.”

After ten hours spent on the operating table, Credence was finally pushed out of the emergency room by the doctors and nurses and was sent to the VIP ward in a hurry.
During these ten hours, Dorothy was so worried that she had no appetite at all. She only drank some water and chewed on some bread as she waited outside. She did not even dare to blink in case she missed the moment Credence was wheeled out.
She was afraid that she would get bad news.
Finally, when Credence was pushed out, she ran over to him quickly. As she ran, her calves and muscles cramped as she had been standing for too long. It was beyond painful and so, she frowned and heaved.
However, this pain was not enough to stop her from running towards Credence.
On the other hand, Jonathan had already heard about the results of the operation from the surgeon. He walked towards the opposite side of Dorothy and pushed the cart with her. As he walked, he explained, “Dorothy, I’m telling you, the surgeon said that the operation was a success. It seems that the blood clot in Credence’s brain has been taken out, and his nerves and veins are still intact. As long as nothing unexpected happens, Credence will be able to recover.”
“This is great news, Dorothy! Thank God!”
“Indeed.”
Dorothy was not as optimistic as he was. She only pressed her pale lips together and nodded slightly, indicating that she had acknowledged Jonathan’s ramblings.
She could not muster up Jonathan’s optimism.
As long as Credence was still in a coma, she would continue to live in fear.
Soon, Credence was transferred to the hospital bed, numerous instruments plugged into his body. He lay on the white sheets, still unconscious.
His body would twitch from time to time, which the doctors informed was a natural reaction after one goes through an operation.
He was such a tall and strong man. Yet, he had become so thin and fragile in the span of a few days.
Dorothy walked to his bedside and caressed his pale hands. She then lowered her head and tenderly tidied up his broken nails with a pair of trimming scissors.
After a while, Jonathan ordered the doctor and nurse to leave first, then he turned his head and told Dorothy sensibly, “Dorothy, I have something very urgent to do, so I really need to get to work right now. I will leave Credence in your care for the time being.”
After that, he pushed the door open and left the room.
The ward was filled with the smell of disinfectant. There was only Dorothy and Credence in it, and Credence laid motionlessly on the bed.
Looking at his cracked lips and ashen face, sadness grew in Dorothy’s eyes. “Credence, I miss you, and Belle misses you as well. You need to hurry and wake up, okay?”
