The thugs dragged Dorothy along. She was so overwhelmed by the pain that she was about to pass out. She didn’t know where they were taking her.
The only thing she knew was that she was getting further and further away from Credence and the others.
Later, they pulled her into a dilapidated two-storey building. It was so dark that she could barely see her own hands.
There was a loud bang.
The door was slammed shut.
She smelled a faint salty scent in the air, which indicated that she was somewhere not far from the sea.
Dorothy suddenly became a little bit more alert at the scent of the sea.
She guessed that this was a slum not far from the ocean. Horsburg’s most famous casinos were only a boat ride away, so many people would pass by here on their way to try their hand at winning a fortune.
Therefore, there were many people from all walks of life coming and going from this place.
It was such a chaotic place that Credence would probably have to spend a lot of time searching each and every corner.
By the time he found her, she would either already have been sullied or worse, dead.
Dorothy was not afraid of death.
She was only afraid that she would not be able to see Belle or Credence after she died.
She was afraid that after her death, Belle would have no chance of curing her illness.
These thugs were ruthless, and they probably had blood on their hands. She didn’t think that she would be lucky enough to escape.
The thugs brought Dorothy up to the attic, stumbling through the darkness. A window was opened, and she could see the waves crashing against the coastline.
The sea breeze billowed, and Dorothy was almost completely numb from the cold.
The scar-faced leader rummaged around and turned the light on.
The lights were not the brightest, but it was enough for Dorothy to see her surroundings clearly.
She was sitting in a corner, and she saw that the thugs wore normal T-shirts and jeans. All of them looked ferocious and were covered in scars. They looked like they lived in violence.
The leader was known as Gabe, and he was on the phone with someone. She didn’t know what the other person said, but Gabe narrowed his eyes and roared, “What? There are two rich men out there with police searching for a young, beautiful woman? F*ck, they got here so quickly! We don’t even have the time to get out of here.”
He hung up, and the other three crowded around him in panic. “Boss, are they here for her?”
“D*mn it, there aren’t even any more boats at this hour. There’s simply no place we can hide this woman. What should we do, Boss?”
“If we really don’t have a choice, then we’ll r*pe her first, then kill her and push her out of the window. Besides, we are near the sea. She’ll be taken away by the current and nobody will know that we’ve killed her.”
These desperados were talking about how they were going to murder Dorothy right in front of her.
Fear washed over Dorothy. She silently sank back into the shadows, trying not to attract their attention.
When they had run out of options, they would really walk the talk. They’d kill her and dump her into the ocean, leaving no traces behind.
Was this another one of Rosalie’s plots?
With Hugo’s lecherous nature, it would be impossible for him to not lay a finger on her.
There had to be someone commanding him, or at least someone who’d offered him something better. That was why Hugo hadn’t done the deed himself and had purposely driven her here. He’d even paid these thugs money to get rid of her.
At the end of the day, Rosalie just wanted to kill her through the hands of other people.
Her body was severely fatigued, and her head was heavy. All Dorothy wanted to do was sleep.
However, she could only wish.
If she really did fall asleep, then she might never be able to open her eyes again.
Credence and Marvin were already searching for her from door to door. What she had to do was try to delay these thugs for as long as possible.
The longer the delay, the higher her chances of survival.
Dorothy mustered up her remaining strength and forced herself to calm down. She leaned against the wall and met Gabe’s eyes. “You guys wanted to get some money by selling me off to some backwater place, right? If you let me go, I’ll give you more than four hundred thousand dollars. I’ll pay you a million.”
“In this way, each of you will get more than two hundred thousand dollars. What do you think? Deal or no deal?”
“Why should we trust you?”
Before Dorothy could react, she was kicked in the calf. Gabe looked at her like she was an idiot. “We’ve seen plenty of woman as sly as yourself! There are cops at there. Do you think we’d let you go so that you can send the cops after us?”
“Boss, this woman just needs a good f*cking! Since the police aren’t here yet, let’s f*ck her hard first. After that, we’ll throw her out of the window. Even if we die, we are going to take her with us.”
“That’s right! This woman is so beautiful. Dying would be worth it as long as we get to f*ck her.”
Under the dim light, the thugs lecherous gazes focused on Dorothy’s fair skin, exposed under her torn shirt.
In the hotel suite, Rosalie had changed into a pink silk nightgown. A delighted smiled formed on her lips as she listened to Dorothy trying to make a deal with the thugs through the tracking device.
“Dorothy, at this point, you won’t be able to survive this!”
So what if she had Credence’s love?
So what if she gave birth to Credence’s daughter?
She was still under Rosalie’s control! She could only wish that she was dead.
“Dorothy, I will make sure that you get a taste of everything that you and Credence did to me.”
“Once upon a time, Credence got two men to r*pe me. Now, I’ll pay back the favour in twofold. I’ll also make sure to record every single second of it so that you’ll spend the rest of your life in shame.”
“From this moment on, you’ll be so notorious that you’ll never be able to be with Credence.”
As she listened to Dorothy’s terror-filled screams, Rosalie’s smile grew more and more twisted.
At the same time, two of the thugs pulled on Dorothy’s legs harshly.
She was dragged out of the dark corner and into the middle of the attic. The four men slowly approached her from each direction.
Gabe was the first to bend over. His eyes were fixed on her ample chest that was heaving up and down due to her rapid breathing and he smiled maliciously. “Stop dreaming that the police are going to come and save you in time, babe. I’ll have you know that there hasn’t been a woman that’s gotten out of our clutches before.”
“Don’t worry, when we are bored of f*cking you, we’ll slash your neck. We won’t let you suffer for long, thanks to your pretty face.”
Dorothy tried to shout.
Her mouth had been taped, and she couldn’t shout for help.
Her hands were tied behind her back. In her despair, she dug her fingers into the concrete floor, leaving streaks of blood.
She wanted to call out to Credence, to save her.
She lowered her head, her face blank. She could only watch as the men reached their hands underneath her skirt…
