The extremely cold and indifferent man was none other than Jeremy.
This was the first time he had heard of his mother having a twin sister. What shocked him even more was how shamelessly the two siblings mocked each other. It was really an eye-opener for him.
Jeremy shut his eyes and sneered with a smile, “I guess a b*tch will always be a b*tch!”
He had always known that his mother was cold-hearted and extremely selfish. For the sake of her own interests, she had made use of her daughter who had died less than half a month after she was born. She also had no qualms about using her own son too. She was heartless at that, not even a bit motherly.
When he was younger, if he did not listen to her, she would lock him up in a dark and damp room. After that, she would reveal her true self and not provide him with any food or anything to drink as punishment. She would also curse him loudly, whip him, and pierce him with needles until he submitted to her orders and demands and agreed to all of her disgusting requests.
Not all children were born to parents who wanted them.
Not all children are loved by their parents.
Take for instance children like Jeremy and his deceased sister.
When he thought of his sister who had died, he thought that she had been bestowed a better fate than he had. At least, she was able to escape from a life that was worse than hell.
Wilson stood behind the tall man who was emanating an iniquitous aura. He had also been listening in to the conversation between Ysabelle and Leilani. He could not help but to side with his boss as he muttered, “Boss, are you sure Madam Sherman is your biological mother? Also, it seems like her true love is not Yezoo. That’s strange, isn’t it? Who could it be?”
Wilson’s question pulled Jeremy’s mind back to his senses. His face immediately tensed up as he smiled bitterly.
Who was his mother’s true love?
It was a pity that even though his mother had done all that she could, she still couldn’t achieve her ultimate goal. She could only give in and marry Yezoo, her back-up.
If Ysabelle had just accepted her fate and was willing to be a good housewife and mother in the Sherman family, then that would have been the end of it.
But she couldn’t.
She had vented out all her frustrations she had for that man on him, her only biological son.
She was indeed able to vent out the frustration, however, at the age where he was too young to resist, his mind had been gradually twisted by her cruel ways, turning him into someone abnormal as well. From then on, he had fallen into the abyss and no one would be able to rescue him.
So, how could he forgive his f*cking mother and this f*cking world?
Since they were all destined to go to hell anyway, then he was determined to make sure that no one around him could have a good time. All of them must f*cking go to hell with him!
Suddenly, something popped up in his mind and a primal vicious expression gradually appeared under his icy cold eyes, “Have you found out if Madam Sherman was the one who hurt Germaine in the bar that day?”
Wilson’s eyes filled with anger at the thought as he complained, “Yes, Boss! Not only did she attack Miss Germaine, she even ordered her bodyguards to humiliate her! Later, Dorothy managed to intervene just in time to foil her plans.”
“From now on, send some men to stay by Germaine’s side. Make sure they’re constantly on the lookout. Do not let Germaine find out about this.”
Jeremy’s eyes were extremely cold. In his silent rage, he had almost crushed the coffee cup that was in his hands.
Wilson could not help but feel awestricken by his boss’s domineering display. “I understand, Boss!”

Under Jonathan’s deliberate arrangement, Dorothy got into an ordinary car and arrived safely at the hospital where Belle was being treated.
She hurriedly got to the ICU and as soon as she walked into the ward, she was welcomed with two bright smiles, a kid and an adult.
“Mommy, you’re back. Where did you sleep last night?”
“Dory, did you sleep well with your man accompanying you last night?”
Germaine has deliberately raised her volume, completely covering Belle’s delicate little voice. It made Dorothy’s face turn red in embarrassment. She gently coughed a few times and changed the topic awkwardly, “Germaine, Belle, have you guys eaten?”
“Mommy, Germaine and I have been waiting for you and Daddy to come back to eat. Hey, where is he? Didn’t he come back with you?!”
This little girl mischievously mentioned her father as she frowned unhappily, “He promised to take me to the amusement park today. That liar.”
Dorothy did not have the heart to tell her daughter about Credence’s injuries. She placed her leather bag on the bedside table, walked to the side of the bed, and hugged her daughter. She pinched her pouting little mouth and told her, “Your father has to attend to some things in his company. He’ll bring you to the amusement park once he’s free, alright?”
Belle pouted and nodded her little head reluctantly after a short while, “Okay, seeing how Daddy is earning money to support the family, I will forgive him this time. But next time, I won’t forgive him so easily!”
It was not an easy feat to coax her daughter. Dorothy was so exhausted that she almost collapsed.
As she was talking to Belle, Germaine went to the cafeteria to buy some food for the three of them to eat. She bought noodles and some plain soup that was easy for Belle to stomach and also bought a large pot of braised fish fillets. Everything smelled delicious.
Because of Belle’s illness, she could not eat food with an intense taste. However, she was well-behaved and did not ask Dorothy for any of the fish fillets. She only widened her beautiful blue eyes and looked at her mommy’s face and neck curiously. She pointed at it and ask her, “Mommy, why are you red here? There’s another one here. Did you get bitten by mosquitoes?”
Dorothy did not know how to reply to her daughter at that moment. All she could do was nod frantically as she fed Belle her food, hoping to placate her curiosity. “Yes.”
Meanwhile, Germaine took a big bite of fish fillet. When she heard how innocent Belle’s question was, she almost laughed hysterically, “Oh my, Belle, you are too cute! Let me tell you, your mother did not get bitten by just any mosquito. It was a giant mosquito, one that especially likes to bite your mother.”
Germaine thought the little girl was just too likable. She really wanted to find a man and produce an innocent child like Belle.
Dorothy turned around and hurriedly placed another piece of fish fillet in Germaine’s bowl as she snorted grumpily, “Not even good food can stop you from talking!”
“Alright, alright, I’ll keep my mouth shut.”
Germaine knew that Dorothy was feeling shy. Therefore, she did not take her jokes too far. After that, she ceased all bouts of teasing and only focused on eating.
After lunch, Germaine fished Dorothy’s leather bag for napkins. Unexpectedly, she fished out two red certificates.
After flipping to the first page, Germaine blinked her eyes in shock and asked, “F*ck, Dory. When did you secretly get married to Credence again?
Hold on, you guys already got the certificate. D*mn, what about poor Juelz? He’s going to be so miserable. Isn’t he still pining after you?”
