“Ah!” Dorothy yelled in pain as Credence dragged her forcefully from Juelz’s side.
At that moment, the man’s aura was cold and his action was rough. Dorothy cringed a little from the pain and was keenly aware that the man was in a bad mood. She did not attempt to resist, allowing the man to tug at her as he pleased.
“Credence, what are you doing? Let her go! You’re hurting Dory.”
Juelz got mad immediately. He wanted to reach out his hand to help Dorothy ease her pain.
His heart wrenched seeing her in pain.
Credence gave Juelz a cold glare. Just as Juelz’s arm was about to reach Dorothy, he pulled her into his embrace, leaving his arm hanging mid-air.
This man had tried to wedge a spot between him and Dorothy for so many years. He also played a huge role in their divorce as well.
However, no matter how disgusting Credence found Juelz’s actions, he could not help but feel thankful for the care he had provided to Dorothy and Belle. A conflicting set of emotions stirred in his heart.
Even so, he was not willing to hand Dorothy to him at all.
Credence’s face darkened. He stared at Juelz with narrow eyes which were filled with warning. “She is mine. I will take care of her in the future. No need for you to worry.”
“Who’s yours?”
After she woke up that morning, Dorothy had straight away rushed to the bar to help Germaine and hadn’t had time for breakfast. She had only drunk some milk in the taxi. Now, her stomach felt empty and made her feel queasy. And with Credence’s rough handling, she could feel her stomach churn in distress, making her feel really uncomfortable.
The uncomfortable pain she felt made her shoot an angry glare at Credence, her tone had turned harsh.
Credence could feel his rage boiling over at the retort. He lowered his head and spoke to her coldly, “If you don’t want to be mine, then who do you want to belong to?”
“Credence, can you be reasonable for once? I am free to do whatever I please now, and I’m a single mother above all else. I have no legal relationship with you either so is it really that hard for you to understand that I do not belong to you anymore?”
Dorothy frowned as she spoke. She was not going to sit back and let herself be cowed by the man’s anger as he did in their four years of marriage. She turned her head and looked over at Juelz, who had a glum look on his face. His hands still hung mid-air making him look ridiculous.
However, Dorothy felt heart-wrenching and guilty.
Credence’s life had always been smooth sailing. He was a strong and domineering man and rarely cared about other people’s feelings, including hers.
Back then, under Rosalie’s provocation, he had been sure that Dorothy was an unpredictable and unscrupulous vicious woman. He had hurt her and acted cold and indifferent towards her over and over again. He had not believed her innocence before, nor had he even tried to.
At the moment, it was the same all over again. His domineering personality preventing him from listening to her explanations.
Dorothy paused for a moment before she continued, “Credence, Belle’s illness is the only thing on my mind right now. I just want to have her treated as soon as possible. As for everything else, including my personal feelings, I haven’t thought about them for the time being. Can’t we just let everything else in the future go with the flow?”
If she let her relationship take its course naturally like Juelz, everything might be too late by then.
Credence let out a snort in his heart. He was wise enough to keep his mouth closed, not letting any of his thoughts escape from his mind. Instead, he turned his head to look at the man who was obviously after his woman with a cold expression. He let out a cold smile and began to taunt sinisterly, “Come on Juelz, let’s go for a drink. Think you’re up for that?”
If he attacked him and beat him up right there and then, he knew that would only make Dorothy feel more pity for that weakling.
However, drinking was a different matter altogether. Even if he drank to the point of needing a gastric lavage, Juelz could only blame himself for his inability to drink.
“Fine by me. I’m not afraid of you.”
Juelz looked at Dorothy who was being brought into the bar in Credence’s embrace. He watched on with a frown and a glare as cold as ice, his eyes rimmed red from all the emotions that were threatening to make themselves known.
It was always like that. As soon as Credence appeared, Dorothy’s focus would not be on him anymore, not even for a second.
Ever since she was 16, she had only ever had eyes for Credence. There was no place for any other man in her heart. It didn’t matter if he was the one who stayed by her side or that he knew her longer than Credence did.
For a split second, Juelz felt repressed anger bubbling in his chest. He wanted to vent it out but he could only hold it in and his face began to turn more and more livid.
After all, wasn’t it just a drinking competition?
He had never lost when it came to drinking. Why would he be afraid of Credence?
Juelz followed after them with an impassive look on his face that made him look threatening.
In front, Credence held Dorothy in his arms as they walked into the bar. The man’s grip on her shoulder was extremely tight, she felt as if it was going to shatter into pieces.
When the man attempted to be gentle, his touch was as light as a feather. However, when he did not want to show her any tenderness, he would be truly ruthless.
After they walked into the private room, Credence settled Dorothy into the innermost seat, far away from Juelz. After that, he sat down beside her and called the waiter.
Instead of a waiter, the manager himself entered the room. He had met Credence at a business party once, so he wanted to show his respect to the most distinguished man in Talco City. “Mr. Scott, sorry to keep you waiting, what would you like to order today?”
Credence nodded his head indifferently and replied, “Give us your most expensive and strongest liquor.”
Soon, over a dozen bottles of liquor with over 50% alcohol were placed on the table. Dorothy was frightened just by the sight of them.
If they really did down all of it, she was sure that someone would end up in the hospital sooner or later.
She was worried beyond belief. She was afraid that something would happen to Credence or Juelz.
Dorothy stretched out her hand and pulled at Credence’s neat suit jacket, “Can you guys not drink so much?”
The man lowered his head, his handsome face became cold as he replied, “Are you worried about me, or are you worried about him?”
She searched for words fruitlessly, “I… ”
Dorothy looked at Juelz and saw that he was also looking at her with burning eyes. He was happy and excited at the prospect of Dorothy worrying over him. For a moment, she was at a loss for words and did not know how to answer.
However, Credence did not need her answer. He casually threw a bottle of liquor at Juelz. With a challenging glare, he tipped his head upwards and began to drink from the bottle, one mouthful after another.
“Dorothy, don’t worry about me. The winner is still undecided yet.”
Juelz held the bottle of liquor in his hand and started to take big gulps of the alcohol as well.
These two equally outstanding men competed in their alcohol tolerance for Dorothy.
Dorothy merely watched on warily from the sidelines. Even if she wasn’t drinking, she could still imagine the uncomfortable burning sensation of such a large amount of strong alcohol rushing into the stomach. She watched as more and more bottles got emptied and began filling up the entire table. After a while, she got bored. She could not figure out why men liked these types of torturous games. Was it really fun to drink themselves to the point of hospitalization?
Towards the end, Credence still looked calm and composed. He did not show any signs of being affected by the alcohol, but Juelz on the other hand, could not take it anymore. After begrudgingly downing three bottles, his face started to pale significantly. All of a sudden, he stood up and rushed to the bathroom nearby. He slammed the bathroom door shut and the sound of vomiting could be heard soon after, the retching sounded incredibly painful.
Dorothy could feel Juelz’s pain from the distressed groans he was making. She could not help but get up and run over to him, “Juelz, are you alright?”
As soon as she left her seat, Credence firmly grasped her wrist with an iron grip, “Don’t worry, he won’t die.”
“Well even if it’s not deadly, his stomach must be hurting him! Credence, I don’t understand. Juelz and I haven’t done anything inappropriate. What on earth are you trying to do?”
Dorothy’s entire body shook in anger, her lips were tightly pursed, and her eyes burned with fire as she glared at him.
“I want to f*ck you. I’ll f*ck you until you can’t get out of bed! Maybe then you’ll stop hooking up with other men!”
After yelling angrily, Credence dragged her out of the room, bumping into the manager on the way out. He ordered the manager to send Juelz to the hospital immediately and continued to drag Dorothy, who had just provoked him, into his black Maybach which was parked nearby.
Once they got into the car, Dorothy insisted on getting out to check up on Juelz which greatly angered Credence.
His expression darkened, and he began to threaten, “If you f*cking mention Juelz’s name again, I will definitely let him die in the hospital without any evidence for anyone to find.”
When Dorothy heard this, she immediately gave in and hurriedly threw herself onto him in a panic. She forbade him from getting out of the car, “All right, all right, I won’t mention him anymore. Let’s go back to the hospital now. Belle must be waiting for us.”
Her voice had always been soft, but now, she was deliberately making herself sound cuter and whinier, causing Credence’s body to numb and soon feel aroused by their positioning.
Especially when she rubbed against his chest that moment, causing a certain boy part of his to start growing uncontrollably.
He scolded her in a hoarse voice, “You’re the one who started it!”
After he said that, before Dorothy could fully comprehend what he had meant, his thin lips suddenly attacked her soft and red lips, kissing her deeply.
