Chapter 245 You Can Fool Others, But Not Yourself

Book:My Husband Hates Me Published:2024-5-1

Dorothy was faced away from the Maybach, so she did not know that Juelz’s gaze had already crossed fire with the angry man. She took out her phone from her bag, subconsciously scrolled through the call history to find Credence’s name. She wanted to ask how Belle was doing since she had left the hospital for such a long time.
Juelz lowered his head and glanced at her phone. Having noticed that she was about to call Credence, he blinked his eyes and asked, “Credence doesn’t know you’re here?”
Dorothy nodded, she remained silent for a while and said, “Yeah, I didn’t tell him.”
After a short pause, she continued to explain, “Juelz, he’s accompanying Belle in the hospital. I’m just going to call him to see if Belle is doing alright, that’s all.”
Whenever she talked about Credence in front of Juelz, she always felt hesitant for some reason.
Perhaps it was because she once told Juelz that apart from using Credence’s sperm to get a new child from him to treat Belle, she wanted nothing to do with Credence in the future.
But now, she could obviously feel that after facing Credence’s immense tenderness and warmth, her resolve seemed to have wavered.
She hated the man who was always cold and indifferent to her. But now that he had been obeying her in every way and treated her with tenderness, she could not bring herself to hate him anymore.
From Juelz’s point of view, her additional explanation was just a farce. It was just to cover up the fact that her love for him outweighed her hatred.
Out of the corner of his eye, Juelz noticed the cold man walking closer and closer to them. He suddenly lowered his head, leaned close to her ear, and gently said, “Dory, I’ve been looking for a chance to talk to you about your plans these past few days, but I could never find the right time. But I think today will do.
You promised me last month that as long as you get pregnant with Credence’s child and save Belle with the cord blood, you would not have any entanglements with him anymore, right? Do you remember that?”
“Yes, but Juelz, pregnancy is not that easy to get right. I don’t know why, but the more anxious I am, the more difficult it is for me to get pregnant successfully. I really don’t know what to do.”
Dorothy frowned, as she got more and more anxious.
Pregnancy was something that depended on the will of the heavens, and she believed that she should just let nature take its course. She couldn’t force it upon herself no matter how impatient she was.
Hearing this, a strange light flashed in Juelz’s eyes. He comforted Dorothy with a few words but suddenly spoke with a serious expression, “I can wait. Until the day you successfully get pregnant, until you finally get rid of him. I have been waiting for more than ten years, what’s another few days.
Dory, do you still remember what you said before? You said that after Belle recovers, as long as I proposed to you, you will definitely agree, right? Now, I only want to ask you one question. Will you still keep your promise?”
She stammered, “I…”
Dorothy held the black strap of her handbag tightly. Her relationship with Credence had been full of ups and downs and the sadness she received far outweighed happiness. If she wanted to have a simpler life for the rest of her days, she would definitely choose Juelz. However, the man she loved deeply was still Credence.
Even if she could fool Juelz, she knew she could not fool herself.
She lowered her head and unconsciously picked at the logo on her leather bag. Her brows were deeply knitted together. Her actions, in Juelz’s eyes, had said it all. In her heart, she really cared more about Credence than she did about him. Even though she had been hurt by him thousands of times, her heart was still with the other man.
Eventually, Dorothy said slowly, “Juelz, in the four years of our marriage, he has hurt me countless times. I loathe him and want nothing to do with him. But now that Belle has fallen ill, I have no choice but to get close to him again. I even have to give my most intimate parts to him.
I told myself every day that I don’t love him. The reason why I let him back into my life again was that I wanted to get pregnant as soon as possible. This is all for Belle’s sake. These have always been my thoughts. But gradually, I got confused and my heart wavered. I wasn’t sure whether I just wanted to accept him because of Belle, or because I still have feelings for him.”
She continued, “Juelz, I’ve just spewed so much nonsense. I don’t know if you can understand. But in short, I just want to let you know that I am struggling too. I have no idea how far I will go on with him.
My only concern at the moment is Belle’s illness. My only wish is for Belle to recover. So let me put it this way, Belle is my number one priority right now and I have no intentions of continuing my relationship with him.
Because I am sure that a strong and overbearing man like him is not well-suited to me.”
After speaking her heart out, Dorothy felt a moment of relaxation. She looked up at the sky and heaved a sigh of relief as if a heavy burden had been lifted off her shoulders.
A cold sneer came from behind, taunting, “Then who do you think is suitable for you?”
Dorothy suddenly stiffened as she turned around. He saw the handsome but frosty man standing less than half a meter behind her.
He took the cigarette away from his thin lips with two slender fingers, and huffed out some smoke. He had already smoked half of it and was flicking the ashes to the floor.
She did not know how long he had been there, or how much he heard.
For a brief moment, Dorothy felt shrouded in guilt. When she looked into his deep and emotionless gaze, she trembled and asked, “Credence, why… Why are you here?”
“You’ve left the hospital for almost three hours now. Belle misses you very much, so I drove out to find you. I did not expect your urgent matter to be this.”
He pouted his thin lips into a sharp line, and rolled his eyes in annoyance. He stared at Dorothy for a while and let out a sneer.
This woman was getting bolder and bolder. She was using his guilt against him, and she knew that he would follow everything she said. She even accepted Juelz’s intimate gesture of learning his chin on her forehead. She might even do something more outrageous behind his back.
Dorothy frowned and said, “Credence, it’s not what you think. I went to see Germaine. She met with some trouble in the bar so I came to help her. Juelz came later as well. When he saw that I was injured, he took me to this small hospital here for a full physical examination. That’s what happened.”
After she explained that, she felt a little dumbstruck. After all, Credence and her had nothing to do with each other after their divorce. So, why did she have to explain herself to him, as if she had just been caught having an affair with another man?
“Dory, there’s no need to explain anything to him,” Juelz raised his eyebrows and turned his head to look at Credence as he spoke. His eyes turned colder as he continued, “Dory and I are both single, so it’s normal for us to have a date. If you don’t like it, you can go and date other women as well.”
Credence swept his eyes coldly, took a step forward to stand in front of Dorothy and made his move.
