After half an hour, the waiter came out of the suite and walked straight to Germaine. He nodded and said, “Relax, Mr. Scott has drunk a lot of that wine.”
“Okay, great. You can go now.”
Germaine immediately stuffed the remaining stack of cash into the waiter’s hands. She grew excited as she imagined the scene that would unfold later onwards.
She took a few deep breaths, calming herself down. After that, she stood where she was and waited.
Sure enough, in less than ten minutes, Marvin and Jonathan, who had drunk too much as well, appeared in the corridor with their arms around each other’s backs. They found their own presidential suites, pushed the doors open and entered. They slammed the door and closed it, proving that they must have gone to rest.
When Germaine saw them do so, she narrowed her eyes and smirked like a cunning fox.
Now that the two troublemakers had left, it could only mean Credence was the only one left in the room. He was someone that had imbibed too much of that special drink, so he no longer had enough strength to fight back against anyone. By that time, Dorothy could do whatever she wanted with him.
Germaine immediately took out her mobile phone from her bag and called Dorothy. “Dory, hurry up. It’s Room 1606 and Credence is inside. I’m waiting for you. See you!”
After receiving Germaine’s call, Dorothy stood up, scooped her bag, and walked into the elevator.
She watched as the indicator crept closer and closer to the sixteenth floor, and she grew so panicked that her heartbeat became disordered, thumping harshly against her chest.
As soon as Dorothy emerged from the elevator, she glimpsed Germaine standing next to a wall and waving enthusiastically to her. She shouted in a low and urgent voice, “Dory, over here. Credence is in there.”
Tightening her grip on the room card, Dorothy calmed herself down and got closer to Germaine one step at a time. She asked, “Are you sure? Everything has been handled?”
Germaine cheerfully praised herself, “Of course, as long as I, Germaine Sherman, make a move, no one can escape from within my hands.”
She quickly took over the leather bag and mobile phone form Dorothy, and stuffed a set of sexy nightwear that she had prepared into her hands instead, smiling brightly. She ordered, “Dory, quick, put on this outfit of utmost seduction, and conquer your man!”
Dorothy stood at the door as she took the room card and swiped it open. She silently turned back and showed Germaine a grateful smile, “Germaine, thanks a bunch!”
Germaine flashed her a look that said ‘been there, done that’, and smacked her red lips, “Dory, if you really want to thank me, do it by succeeding in one shot.”
Faced with Germaine’s mischievous looks, Dorothy was rendered a little speechless. She took a deep breath in to calm herself. When her heartbeat reverted to normal, she pushed the door open with her slender fingers, walking in.
The lights inside were dim but white, and only a lamp wall was left lit, causing her vision to go blind for a moment. She could not find Credence’s exact location at that moment.
Dorothy calmed herself down for a moment.
She wanted to ask Credence for help in doing that, but she did not want to jump right into doing the deed with him the moment she entered the room. Dilemmas and conflict intertwined and settled within her guts.
She took the pajamas that Germaine had given her and entered the bathroom.
After having a shower, Dorothy changed into a black, sexy lacy dress. She opened the bathroom door and stepped into the quiet living room. She gently patted her flushed cheeks and clenched her fists to psych herself up.
After that, she scanned around with her sharp eyes. There was no one else. She sighed and walked towards the bedside.
A look of firm determination and readiness to die could be seen on her beautiful and fair face.
For her precious daughter, she had to do this. She had no other choice.
“Credence, I’m sorry!” she screamed inwardly.
She felt sorrow for Belle every time she watched as her sickness worsened. She closed her eyes tightly and opened them once more. In the end, she made up her mind and placed her hand on the knob of the door room, twisting it lightly.
…
There were no lights in the bedroom at all. The only thing that she could make out was the dim moonlight that shone in through the thick velvet curtains. The light rays were so weak that only shadows could be seen in the room.
A strong tang of alcohol pervaded the room, mixed with a cold and muted masculine smell that Dorothy was all too familiar with. It was Credence’s unique scent.
It really was him, lying on the bed!
Dorothy closed the door, removed her high heels and padded on the soft and pure white carpets barefooted, quietly tiptoeing to the bedside.
In all four years of their marriage, she had rarely ever slept with Credence in the same bed. He had always been a light sleeper, and she knew better than anyone else how alert he was even when he was asleep.
She had sneaked in and taken a shower for over half an hour, but Credence had not noticed her at all. That showed that he had indeed drunk a lot of wine and was knocked out cold.
Credence, oh, Credence. Ten years ago, Dorothy had sneaked into his bed, and ten years later, she was doing the same again. Whether that was his misfortune or blessing, she had no idea.
Dorothy stood there for a long time. Then, she smiled bitterly and huffed a soundless laughter.
When she adjusted to the darkness, she laid her eyes on the tall and slender man on the bed, reluctant to look away.
Once she had greedily drunk in enough of it, she held her breath, bent down, and rubbed her slender body on the bed little by little.
Dorothy carefully crept to Credence’s side. She reached her hands out and groped his chest for a few minutes, unbuttoning his shirt.
At first, Dorothy had still kept her wits about her and continued to think about saving her daughter’s life, but after touching his toned body, her face flushed red uncontrollably.
She had never taken the initiative to undress him, let alone get so close to him. In the past, he had always been impatient to tear all her clothes off. At that moment, the tables had turned. She felt a mix of emotions, one part happiness, one part humiliation, and even one part indescribable sorrow.
Whenever her hands unconsciously brushed across Credence’s boiling hot skin, he would instinctively frown.
For some reason, Rosalie had been pushing him more and more these past few days. She often appeared in his bedroom and cleaned herself in the bathroom too. She wore skimpy clothes, and her purpose was simple and direct, wanting to arouse his interest and hit a home run.
However, for some reason, the feeling of emptiness that flooded his heart always made him lose interest in her. Every single time, at the most crucial moment, he would be able to remove himself from the moment and calmly walk out of the room.
Due to that reason, Rosalie was always softly sobbing tears in front of him, annoying him even more.
In order to avoid Rosalie’s ravenous clinging, he had not hesitated to attend this blind date that Marvin and Jonathan themselves had been forced to attend.
As soon as he had arrived at the venue, he had been drinking in silence, never saying a word, growing in a state of near inebriation.
Then, a waiter had brought in a few bottles of top-grade wine. He had wanted to restrain himself from drinking it, but the wine had his favorite aroma. He had taken the bottle in his hand, raised his head, and chugged half of its contents at once.
He had drunk it too fast. Just as he noticed that the taste was a little strange, he had already swallowed it into his stomach and it was too late to spill it out.
As expected, it had not taken long for Credence to realize that his consciousness was fading. In the end, all he wanted to do was to lie down and have a good sleep.
It just so happened that Jonathan had thought that he had just simply gotten drunk and dropped him off at the bedroom with Marvin, leaving without looking back.
Enduring the intense headache he had, Credence struggled to open his long and elongated eyes. He seemed to be able to smell a faint, elegant feminine scent.
After that, he faintly saw a slender figure taking off his clothes and pants, a woman who had no inch of shame nor knew her limits.
Although Credence could not move his body at all, his alluring eyes suddenly turned cold and sharp.
He yelled, “Get out, get out of here right this instant!”
