Dorothy drove to a street not far from the venue. Meanwhile, Juelz had just arrived a few minutes earlier.
She took the small cooler box from his hand and put it into the car. She understood Credence’s personality, and he would never allow Juelz to take his blood for no reason at all. Thus, she could not help but ask softly, “Juelz, can you tell me how you did it?”
Even though Dorothy was mentally prepared, Credence had always held a spot in her heart, and she cared more about him than her own life.
However, at this moment, Dorothy was only worried about Credence, not Juelz, making him feel a sense of alienation and sadness.
Then, he reached his hand out and gently raised Dorothy’s chin. His long, warm fingers trembled a little. They were so close to each other as he met her crystal-clear eyes. He smiled and said, “I found a lot of people to beat him up and we knocked him out. I managed to do it when he could not resist at all.”
If he got knocked out, just how bad were his injuries?
Given his strong personality, he would have hung on as long as he could and only fainted when his body really could not stand it any longer.
Then, Dorothy looked up in a daze, “Juelz, how’s Credence?”
It was true that she still hated that man, and she hated him for never reciprocating to her affection and love. She despised him for always protecting Rosalie when it came down to her and Rosalie. She loathed him for ignoring her bitter pleadings and getting rid of her child without her consent. However, she had never thought about killing him or ending his life.
What a strange feeling this was. When she heard Juelz mention that Credence had gotten beaten up until he was unconscious, she did not feel happiness upon getting her revenge, but the only thing she felt in her heart was concern as she was worried about his condition.
She was really such a b*tch.
Alas, she only loved Credence and her heart had no room for anyone else. What could she do about that?
“Dory, you’re hurting me like this just because I love you.”
Juelz lowered his gaze. There was a stinging pain in his heart that was mixed with irritation.
The irritation had lasted for a total of eighteen years, and it was spiraling out of control.
He placed his fingernail along her sharp chin and slowly trailed it to her soft lips. When he looked at her, his eyes were filled with endless tenderness.
“Dory, I want to kiss you. I really want to kiss you right now!”
Hence, Dorothy was rendered speechless.
She was completely shocked by how aggressive Juelz was, as he had never been this domineering towards her before.
Was he confessing his love to her?
Back then, it was not that he had never confessed to her, but he had never been as aggressive as he was at the moment.
Dorothy’s heartbeat was extremely rapid, and she felt extremely flustered
Then, she bit her lips as she had no idea how to refuse him.
She closed her eyes and finally regained her rationality. She smiled apologetically at Juelz, “I’m sorry. I don’t want to lie to you, and I don’t want to lie to myself either.”
She pushed him away hard as if he was the plague. Then, she turned around and got into the driver’s seat, and started the car. She tried to get away from Juelz as fast and far as she could, leaving him standing in the same spot in a lonely manner.
Then, he smiled bitterly, “Dory, I will never give up on you, never!”
After an hour, Dorothy reached the hospital. She told a doctor from the laboratory that she would be here earlier and even paid the fee. It was half-past ten right now, yet the doctor was still waiting.
Hence, Dorothy felt incredibly embarrassed. She handed the small cooler box and its contents over to the doctor, smiling apologetically as she said, “Dr. Lanes, I’m sorry to keep you waiting.”
“It doesn’t matter. Miss Fisher, please wait outside for a while. The results will be out in two hours.”
With a thud, the door was gently closed. Dorothy quietly stood in the laboratory corridor as she silently waited for the medical report to come out.
She desperately hoped that Credence’s bone marrow was a match to Belle’s.
If that was the case, her precious daughter could finally become an ordinary kid and could participate in all kinds of activities that other students did. Plus, she would not get injured seriously upon getting hurt nor would she bleed profusely anymore. She would never fall sick for no reason as well, and Dorothy would not need to be worried all the time.
As time went by, Dorothy felt increasingly uneasy.
…
Before Jonathan could call the ambulance, Marvin snatched the phone away from him.
His cold, handsome face was filled with hostility as he said, “Come with me. Someone set Credence up.”
“What? What the f*ck?! Who the heck is causing trouble on our turf? Who has the balls to do this?”
At first, Jonathan was stunned, but then the anger that he had been keeping to himself exploded.
He was the one who had brought up the competition to Credence. For some unknown reason, Credence, who had never had any plans to participate in this, had suddenly agreed to come.
Come to think of it, if anything happened to Credence, then Jonathan would have to take responsibility for it.
At the thought of that, Jonathan’s expression turned unpleasant. “Marv, where did you find Credence? Is he injured? Is his life in danger?”
“He’s passed out, so he must have been injured. They need to observe him further for any serious damage.”
No one knew which part of that sentence provoked him, but Marvin’s expression turned even darker. Then, he grabbed Jonathan and jumped into a sports car parked by the roadside. They rushed towards the area where Credence had met with his accident.
“Who the f*ck did this? When I find out the culprit, I’ll definitely f*ck them up. I’ll cut off his balls and prevent him from ever having any children. I’ll let him see just how powerful I am!”
Jonathan slapped his seat hard and he got so angry that his veins were bulging.
At the same time, Marvin’s face turned cold too, “When I know who did this, I’ll f*cking kill him!”
After passing through the sandy field, they arrived at the bushes by the hillside. When they saw Credence lying unconscious in a pool of blood, Jonathan cursed in anger. Marvin had already kicked over a small sapling and ran towards the man, who was lying motionless, as fast as he could.
Credence quietly leaned against the tree trunk and his face was pale, devoid of color. Wounds could be seen all over his head, body, and even legs.
Then, Marvin tore off Credence’s clothes. There weren’t many wounds on the surface, but Marvin was proficient in the anatomy of the human body. With just a glance, he could tell that Credence had suffered a lot of serious internal injuries.
Otherwise, with Credence’s iron-clad character, he would have never allowed himself to pass out here and lose his dignity.
Seeing Credence lying there unmoving, Jonathan was astonished. Hence, he trembled as he called an ambulance, “F*ck, hurry up. Come quick and save him now!”
Soon, an ambulance arrived nearby and a doctor came, placing a stretcher in front of them. Then, he shouted at Jonathan and Marvin, “You two, quick. Lift him up and carry him onto the stretcher.”
The two men immediately came to their senses and helped the doctor bring Credence into the ambulance. The lights above the ambulance flashed, let out its emergency siren, and rushed towards a government hospital at the speed of light!
