Chapter 143 Nothing to Fear

Hanging up the teacher’s call, she dashed out of Juelz’s company to the streets and hailed a taxi. Soon, she reached Jonathan’s hospital.
Before sending Belle to this kindergarten, she had talked with the principal of the kindergarten for a long time. She had emphasized on Belle’s condition and paid an extra cost for special care, hoping that the principal and teachers would take good care of her.
Her kindergarten was a top-notch one in Talco City. The parents of the children who studied here were either rich or nobles. They were all little princes and princesses in their homes, and those teachers could not afford to scold them. Every day, the teachers would have to gird their loins to take care of them.
As soon as Belle had joined the kindergarten, thanks to her adorable and pretty appearance, and bolstered by her gentle and generous manners, she got along well with her friends. She felt really happy.
The outstanding appearance had attracted a load of attention and was liked by many people, so it was easy for other children to be jealous of her.
Most of the children were cute angels, but some of them were the devil’s incarnate. Under the influence of their parents’ distorted views, they could easily grow into horrible human beings themselves.
Not long after, Belle seemed to have incurred the wrath of a little girl named Sandy.
Hatred between children was simple and straightforward.
While Belle had been drinking water, Sandy had suddenly run behind her and pushed her so hard that she tumbled straight to the ground.
Unfortunately, the moment Belle’s body met the ground, her forehead had collided with the edge of the desk harshly, causing bright red blood to flow out immediately.
Alarmed had the teacher been, who was looking after them. She had quickly reached for the first aid kit to give Belle a bandage to stop her bleeding.
Never had the teacher expected Belle’s forehead to bleed profusely and would not stop at all.
Hearing the news, the principal and the teachers were scared out of their wits. They had quickly called an ambulance and sent her to a hospital. On the way there, they called Dorothy.

After an hour, Dorothy arrived at the hospital, and Belle had been sent to the emergency room to be rescued through blood transfusion.
When the principal saw Dorothy, he quickly trotted over and shook Dorothy’s arm. He apologized profusely, “Miss Fisher, I’m so sorry, I’m terribly sorry. It’s all our fault that such a big incident happened to Belle. Please don’t worry as we’ll be responsible for all of Belle’s medical treatment.”
Although Dorothy was very worried about Belle’s health, after listening to the principal’s sincere apology, she forced a faint smile as she replied, “Don’t blame yourself. I believe that you have tried your best to protect Belle. Most of the responsibility lies within the girl Sandy. Speaking of which, I have to thank you for sending Belle to the hospital in time.”
Hearing Dorothy mention the name ‘Sandy’, the principal looked a little embarrassed. He said, “You see, Miss Fisher, you’ve just returned to Talco City, so you may not know much about this, but Sandy’s father works with the Fisher Group. He is also the president of the group, Caleb Fisher’s nephew. Due to that golden spoon in her mouth, Sandy always likes to make trouble in class. The parents of other children are not as rich and powerful as the Fisher family. Even if they know that their children have been bullied, all they can do is hold it in.”
What the principle wanted to get through was that Dorothy’s background was not solid enough, so it was better for her to not confront Sandy’s parents directly, for otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable. By that time, she might suffer even more grievances.
Caleb’s nephew, Hugo, was just a thug who had fallen in with the wrong crowd ever since he was young.
That disgusting piece of trash had coveted Dorothy since a long time ago. One time, when he had pounced himself on her, Dorothy had grabbed a sharp knife, gnashed her teeth, and aimed the knife at the crucial part of his lower body-
Hugo had not been able dodge her attack in time, and his most crucial body part had almost been snipped into two.
From then on, Hugo, who had been scared out of his wits, no longer dared to leer over Dorothy’s beauty, nor did he dare to cause trouble for her.
However, what an unexpected turn in life that after more than ten years, it was Belle’s turn to be bullied by Hugo’s daughter. She could not just stomach that fact!
Dorothy took a deep breath, and smiled gratefully towards the principal, “Thank you. I know what to do now.”
Hugo was nothing but a coward. There was nothing to be afraid of!
Ever since Belle was born, she had thought of her daughter’s life as one that was more important than her own.
Dorothy could accept other people bullying herself, but she could never accept her lovely daughter being bullied by other children.
Belle’s body was already incredibly weak to begin with. A small wound was enough to cause her to bleed continuously, and it might even be enough to take her life.
Dorothy had sworn long ago that she would wage war with anyone who bullied Belle.
If she did not stop Sandy and give her a lesson, who knew if there wouldn’t be another Sandy wannabe who could harm Belle.
She had to take this matter extremely seriously.
The principal still had something to take care of. After chatting with Dorothy for a while, he left in a hurry. Before he left, he had asked for Dorothy’s bank account and had transferred fifty thousand dollars to her on the spot.
Faced with the principal’s sincerity, Dorothy was relieved and decided to leave Belle in the kindergarten only after she taught Sandy a lesson.
Two hours later, Belle’s surgery went successfully, and she was sent to the intensive care ward to recuperate.
Dorothy sat on the edge of the bed and looked down at Belle’s tiny, pale face. Her heart ached as she bent down to hold her daughter’s delicate body in her arms. Carefully, she examined her forehead and found no other wounds on her body.
At that time, Belle woke up. She was in so much pain that her face was scrunched up as she whispered in a childish voice, “Mommy, my head hurts. My hands hurt, my feet hurt. Even my buttocks hurt!”
Holding Belle tightly, Dorothy felt sorry as she blamed herself, “Belle, be good. You’re injured. When your wound recovers after a few days, it won’t hurt anymore!”
The doctor had given her an examination and told her that this time around, the wound on Belle’s forehead had bled so profusely like tap water because it was an indication that her condition was getting worse. Belle’s time was limited and she needed to perform the bone marrow replacement surgery soon.
Time was running out, and she could not afford to wait any longer.
However, there was still no progress on Credence’s side.
What should she do?
What could she do?
“Mommy, I’m so hungry. I want to eat ice cream and hamburgers.”
With tears in her eyes, Belle looked at Dorothy, a picture of delicate and pity.
For any other children, cold drinks and food such as ice cream could be eaten whenever they felt like it, and there was nothing for them to fear. However, Belle was weak, so it was hard for her to eat ice cream and she mostly only had foods like those once a year.
Although she was more sensible than other children her age, she was still too young. Every time she fell ill and was hospitalized, she liked to ask for all kinds of food like a spoiled child, which hurt Dorothy’s heart.
She blinked her eyes hard. She stretched her hand out and gently patted Belle’s head, saying gently, “Belle, you are injured, so you can’t eat these things for now. When your body becomes well again, Mommy will buy them for you, okay?”
“Uhm, okay then.”
Belle pouted her pale, white lips pitifully.
“Good girl.”
Dorothy kissed Belle’s face, filled a bowl with lightly mashed potatoes, and fed it to her bit by bit.
After Belle finished eating, she felt drowsy and quickly dozed off.
At that moment, the door of the ward was pushed open from outside, and a handsome man grandly strode in.
