Chapter 130 Envy And Jealousy

Book:My Husband Hates Me Published:2024-5-1

Six years later, in Talco City’s airport.
A young woman in a sleeveless black dress stood out among the crowd. She was tall with a curvy figure, her long black hair cascading behind her. Her skin was fair and bright, and her delicate face looked so gorgeous that she could compare to a celebrity.
She carried a small blue suitcase in one hand and held a little girl with her other, walking out of the airport in a leisurely manner.
The little girl’s brown hair was curled naturally, and she wore a lacy white dress. Her eyes were large and watery like the sea, looking as lovely as Snow White.
After taking a few more steps, the little girl’s face turned pale. She tugged at the hem of Dorothy’s skirt with her little hands, “Mommy, I’m so tired. When is Germaine coming to pick us up?”
Dorothy could tell that her daughter’s strength was getting worse. She squatted down and wiped the sweat off Belle’s face. After that, she pecked her slightly pale face, saying in a gentle tone, “Germaine called me and said that she is still stuck in the traffic. She said that she’ll arrive in 20 minutes and asked us to go to a children’s restaurant nearby to grab something to eat.”
Upon hearing that they were going to a children’s restaurant, the tiredness in Belle’s body washed itself away and she tugged on Dorothy’s dress even more excitedly. She ran forward and said, “Mommy, hurry up. I want to eat hamburgers and sandwiches, and drumsticks.”
“You can’t.”
Dorothy reached out and patted her daughter’s head. She rejected her request gently and said, “You can only choose two.”
Belle was not as healthy as she looked.
That was also an important reason why she had come back to Talco City in a hurry after staying in Monticello for such a long time.
“Okay, Mommy. I want a hamburger and French fries then.”
Belle was not a greedy little girl. She quickly only chose the food she wanted most, and a satisfied and happy smile appeared on her face.
Her goals were clear to her, and she would not be distracted. That was the most significant point about Belle’s character.
She was quite similar to that man in that aspect.
Dorothy thought of Credence, whom she had not met for six years. Then, she looked at her precious daughter’s cheery smile. Holding back her sobs, she stretched her arms out to hold Belle tightly in her arms. She smiled and said, “Belle, when you get stronger, Mommy will let you feast on all the delicious food in the children’s restaurant.”
Belle was so happy that she tiptoed and kissed Dorothy’s face, beaming. She exclaimed, “Really? Thanks a lot, Mommy. You’re the best!”
After a while, they walked to the children’s restaurant hand in hand.
Suddenly, Belle raised her hand and pointed at a man in front of her who she had suddenly seen. She shouted, “Mommy, hurry, look! That man looks so handsome, ten times more handsome than Daddy Juelz. Wait, no, he looks a hundred times better than Juelz!”
Upon hearing that, Dorothy fought back the urge to roll her eyes as she said, “Belle, when did you learn to act like this?”
She replied in a self-righteous manner, “Daddy Juelz was the one who taught me that.”
Belle stuck her little head out.
At that moment, when Dorothy’s gaze followed the direction that Belle was pointing to, she saw a man’s profile that was all too familiar to her. Her mind got jumbled up for a moment.
That man was actually Credence!
Six years of not meeting each other had left her with enormous nostalgia.
His handsome face remained the same, and he was still as elegant and noble as ever. No, he had gotten even more attractive and charming as compared to six years ago. He was a walking vessel of masculine pheromones.
Credence’s assistant, the dutiful Benjamin, was following him from behind.
Wherever Credence went, every woman would turn heads at him and smile regardless of their age.
However, he was still the exact man as he always had been, turning a blind eye to every enthusiastic woman around him. His deep eyes stared straight ahead, and he walked towards a young and beautiful woman who was also facing him. He stretched his arms out and embraced her tenderly. The two of them walked out of the airport hand in hand.
At that moment, Dorothy was stunned. Her face gradually turned pale, and her body was as stiff as iron.
So, he finally was in a relationship with Rosalie?
Had she made the wrong decision by coming back from Monticello to Talco City?
However, as Dorothy’s complicated and faintly disappointed eyes fell on her adorable daughter, all the unwillingness and disappointment in her heart gradually dissipated without a trace.
In order to allow Belle to grow up healthily, she was willing to go through the hellish days she had used to live.
“Belle, you’re wrong. Daddy Juelz is the most handsome man in the world.”
Taking a deep breath, Dorothy led Belle into the restaurant. She ordered what she wanted to eat and a bitter cup of espresso for herself. Through the large French window, she noticed a sliver of Credence’s tuxedo at the corner. Her smile gradually turned bitter.
Six years had passed, but she still was unable to forget about him!
Dorothy sighed inwardly. She raised her head and downed the cup of espresso. After that, she sat on the chair and waited for Belle to finish eating. Holding her suitcase in one hand and Belle’s hand in her other, they walked towards the parking lot.
At that moment, a fiery figure bolted towards her aggressively. As the woman ran, she shouted, “Dory, Belle, I’m sorry that I’m late.”
The woman was Germaine. She was dressed in a bright red dress, looking like a crimson rose. She rushed in Dorothy’s direction and picked Belle up. She rubbed her curly hair and pinched her chubby cheeks, kissing her while asking with a smile, “Belle, did you miss me?”
“Yes, of course I’ve missed you!”
Belle held Germaine in her arms and pouted, acting like the child that she was, “I miss Germaine buying me Barbie dolls though.”
Her cute little expression was enough to melt Germaine’s lonely heart.
“Oh my, Dory, did you see that. Belle is so cute! She’s so unlike you or her calculative father! I keep thinking that Belle is my daughter and she must have entered your womb by mistake.”
“Hmph!” Dorothy snorted.
Dorothy almost laughed out loud, “Put a spin on it as you like, but you still can’t hide the raw jealousy in your heart!”
The previous year, Germaine had returned to Talco City and had earned a master’s degree from Monticello’s top university, but she still failed to win Jeremy’s attention. In a state of frustration, she had wandered around bars and flirted with men all day, restoring her position as Talco City’s top social butterfly.
In the end, Gordan could not put up with her any longer and sent Germaine over to one of Jonathan’s maternity care hospitals. He no longer cared about her and allowed her to fend for herself.
“That’s right, I’m envious and jealous of you!”
In the car, Germaine saw Belle sitting in the children’s chair in the back, nodding off. She slowed the car down as she talked to Dorothy, “Dory, you don’t know this but I’ve always wanted to sleep with Jeremy and give birth to his children, but he always runs away from me like I’m the plague or something. I’m so f*cking mad.”
After that, Germaine’s eyes, which used to be as bright as summer flowers, held a trace of loneliness and desolation.
Over the years, she had indulged herself in her decadent lifestyle, continuing to replay all the happy memories she had ever lived through. She seemed to have had a child before, but, it also seemed like she never had one before.
However, who cared about her?
When she noticed the loneliness and desolation on Germaine’s face, Dorothy stretched her hand out, clapped her on the shoulder and cheered her up. She encouraged, “Buck up! Continue fighting for him. After all, Jeremy doesn’t have a formal girlfriend yet. He’ll be yours sooner or later.”
“That’s enough about me. As long as there’s a will, there’s a way. Until my last breath, I will not give up on Jeremy, that b*stard.”
Germaine shook her head, grinning and looking at Dorothy, “You must be tired after sitting in a plane for over ten hours. Let’s head home and talk in private.”
