Chapter 64 These Were Mr. Scott’s Instructions

Book:My Husband Hates Me Published:2024-5-1

Dorothy felt dizzy the whole afternoon.
Even though her mind was hazy, she could still feel Maria worrying about her and taking care of her. She put a towel soaked with cold water on Dorothy’s forehead to lower her body temperature.
Dorothy also vaguely heard Maria giving Credence a call. However, the man was indifferent. He did not even call back or arrange for someone to send her to the hospital.
It was as if she was not his wife, but rather a stranger he hated.
“Credence, I hate you!”
Hazily, a crystal-clear and scalding drop of tear flowed out of Dorothy’s eyes and then quickly disappeared into her long black hair.
“Mrs. Scott, you’re having a fever now, but there is no instruction from Mr. Scott at all. What on earth is he thinking?”
Looking at Dorothy who was lying on the bed with her chapped pale lips, Maria was heartbroken.
No, she couldn’t delay it any longer!
She wanted to give Mr. Scott a phone call again and confirm if he had arranged for a doctor to attend to Dorothy.
When she was about to call Credence, she suddenly heard the sound of messy and hurried footsteps outside the door. Several doctors in white coats were led in by the male servants guarding the door in the outer court.
They were all female doctors, wearing work tags from the hospital around their necks. Their names and departments were written on the tags. They were carrying their work cases and various treatment devices.
A young and delicate female doctor nodded at Maria with a smile, “It’s Maria, right? Nice to meet you. For your information, we have been instructed by Mr. Scott to come and treat you. Please lead us to Mrs. Scott.”
Upon hearing this, Maria breathed a sigh of relief. She glanced at the female doctor’s name and found out that the doctor’s name was Yvonne Wood. She greeted her with a smile, “Dr. Wood, Mrs. Scott is here. Please follow me.”
Yvonne had already heard from Rosalie that Dorothy had been staying in the guest room for four years, despite her status as Mrs. Scott. After listening to what Maria said, she lowered her head and curled her lips in disdain. She then put on a perfectly professional smile before raising her head.
The group of people entered the guest room and began the body check-up procedure on Dorothy.
Dorothy’s mind was foggy due to her fever. She was weak and didn’t notice that there were doctors examining her body.
Yvonne was the leader of this group of doctors. After putting on her mask and gloves, she saw that Dorothy’s fair skin was covered with bruises, especially between her legs. Her skin was scratched and reddish. Some parts were even bleeding. It was evident how merciless the person who had hurt Dorothy was.
Under the face mask, Yvonne couldn’t help but reveal a faint smile. It seemed that Credence really didn’t have any affection for her nominal wife.
He could only be so merciless towards her because he didn’t love her at all.
After Yvonne finished the detailed body check-up for Dorothy, she told Maria, who was very anxious, “Mrs. Scott couldn’t withstand the intense pain and is in a depressive state. Furthermore, she has been staying in an air-conditioned room all night, resulting in a fever caused by gastroenteritis. I have prescribed two antipyretics for her. You may prepare it for Mrs. Scott.”
“Thank you, Dr. Wood.”
Maria nodded gratefully. She took the two boxes of medicine and went downstairs to prepare them for Dorothy.
After Maria left the room, Yvonne ordered the other doctors in an arrogant tone, “Please leave the room. Take your belongings and wait for me in the car. I have to clean her wound.”
As she was the attending doctor, there was no objection to her instructions from the other doctors. They picked up their work cases and left the room.
Only when Yvonne was alone in the guest room, she took out the ointment for bruises and applied it on a cotton swab. She then bent down slowly and, with a secret and complacent smile at the corner of her mouth, she exerted a great amount of force on Dorothy’s deepest wound.
“Oh!”
Dorothy, who was sleeping soundly, groaned in pain and almost jumped from the bed.
She opened her misty eyes and met Yvonne’s pretty but evil eyes. She asked softly in a hoarse voice, “Who are you?”
Dorothy was confused as she looked at Yvonne’s malicious face.
She did not know this young woman in the white coat at all. Had she offended this woman? Why was this woman so ruthless when handling her wounds?
Where was Maria? Where did she go? Why didn’t she stay in the guest room?
There were lots of questions flashing through Dorothy’s mind. However, her face remained calm. She stared at Yvonne, neither angry nor annoyed.
“Who am I?”
Yvonne pressed the cotton swab against Dorothy’s other wound forcefully again. She slowly inched her face closer to Dorothy’s ear and smiled faintly.
“Mrs. Scott, Mr. Scott has specially instructed me to treat you carefully. He also told me to make sure that it is unforgettable for the rest of your life!”
These words were indeed what Credence would say.
Dorothy was in despair. Her breathing stagnated. She turned her head slowly and then stared at the ceiling above her head dazedly.
Yvonne continued to poke Dorothy mercilessly and treated her like a broken doll. Dorothy did not avoid her touch or even groan painfully. It seemed like she could not feel anything. Yvonne threw away the cotton swab and took off her mask. She smiled at Dorothy and put on a magnanimous look, “Mrs. Scott, I’m sorry. I have to follow Mr. Scott’s instructions to secure my job. Don’t blame me!”
“I know, ahem… It has nothing to do with you,” Dorothy whispered. Tiredness and sorrow engulfed her, leaving her with nowhere to hide.
She had initially thought that all the sorrow caused by Credence already exceeded the limits of what she could bear.
However, she was wrong.
He would always manage to make her more miserable!
While Dorothy was despairing, Yvonne left with satisfaction. She got into the ambulance and sent a WhatsApp message to Rosalie immediately to report what she had done in detail.
Her father had been working in the Fisher Group for nearly two decades, and he had been promoted to become the manager of a department recently. Whenever he was home, he would remind Yvonne to get along with Rosalie.
Hence, when Yvonne received Jonathan’s order to treat Dorothy, she immediately informed Rosalie and did everything instructed by Rosalie.
After all, phone calls were simple, direct, and they won’t leave any evidence.
In Yvonne’s heart, she had a new impression of Rosalie, who was extremely attractive.
She decided in her heart never to offend Rosalie, who looked innocent.

Maria prepared and brought the medicine to Dorothy. She realized that Dr. Wood and the others had all left. Only Dorothy was left lying alone on the bed. She kept staring at the ceiling and her face was pale.
“Madam, take the medicine. Your body will recover after taking it.”
“Alright.”
With the help of Maria, Dorothy finished a cup of bitter medicine. Then, she leant against the bed headboard. She whispered to Maria with a smile, “Bring me my handphone.”
“Mrs. Scott, here.”
Dorothy took her handphone from Maria and asked her to leave. Then, she opened her contact list and clicked on the number at the top, ready to send a message to Credence.
However, she kept deleting and retyping the message. In the end, she typed only two words, “I’m leaving”.
She thought that, even if the organ transplant surgery for Rosalie took a long time, it wouldn’t take a day and night to complete.
If Credence could come back to see her within the time frame she set, she would continue to stay and give themselves one last chance.
Even though she had been hurt mercilessly by Credence in this marriage, she still wanted to keep it going as she really loved him.
She sighed and then put down her handphone. She enjoyed the scenery outside the window silently. A long wait had begun.
However, she waited from night till morning, and from dawn till dusk. Credence didn’t come back to see her, nor leave her any messages. There was no notification on her handphone at all after sending that two-word message.
Taking a deep breath, Dorothy’s eyes reddened again. She couldn’t think about him anymore.
Heh!
Dorothy smiled in self-deprecation and finally gave up completely. Looking at the dark night outside the window, she made another phone call.
