Chapter 43 Investigate Immediately

Upon hearing this, Rosalie’s face was deathly pale. The tips of her fingers trembled slightly as she clenched her fist. Her fingernails pierced into her tender palm as she tightened her fist.
The sharp pain pulled her back to her senses. She was extremely depressed, but she still raised her pale face to Credence and said in a gentle and sensible way, “Credence, it does not matter. I believe you must have your reasons for this.”
Credence was slightly surprised at how considerate Rosalie was.
Stunned, he looked at her apologetically. “Dorothy just passed away. I’m not in the mood for the time being.”
As if something had blocked his throat, his voice sounded a little dull and hoarse.
“I understand. I don’t blame you. If you had not suggested it just now, I would have suggested it.”
Rosalie nodded her head in understanding. With a disconcerted expression on her face, she grabbed Credence’s large hand. She gently tugged at it and slowly pressed his cold palm against her face. She spoke in a low voice, “Credence, what exactly happened to Dorothy?”
“After transplanting her kidney to you, the doctor found out that she had uterus cancer. As a result, when they were removing her uterus, she had a major hemorrhage… which led to her accidental death.”
Credence’s eyelids drooped as he stood silently by the bed. He wanted to smoke a cigarette to relieve the irritation that was seeping into his blood and bones.
If he had known that such a tragic accident would happen during Dorothy’s kidney donation, he might have chosen to let Rosalie wait for the resources of the global organ bank.
Before this, he was annoyed with Dorothy, and occasionally had thought of making her disappear completely. But they were all ridiculous ideas that passed through his mind in a flash, and he had never thought of taking any actions.
But when Dorothy had really died in an accident, he did not feel relieved, nor did he feel happy or joyful.
Since when did his hatred for her change?
Probably, it started the moment she emphasized she would divorce him as soon as possible when she lost her baby.
Credence withdrew his hand from Rosalie’s face, turned around, and walked to the window. He lowered his eyes and smiled bitterly. He felt bitter from his throat all the way to the bottom of his heart.
“Credence, where is Dorothy now? I want to see her for the last time. I owe her a thank you.”
Rosalie lay on the bed. She looked at Credence, who was silent, and a wave of panic spread from her brain to every inch of her nerves. She gritted her teeth and said something against her will.
Could it be that he suspected that Dorothy’s accidental death had something to do with her?
No.
It was impossible.
She called that person, and all the steps in the whole plan were carried out perfectly. It was impossible for any mistakes to happen.
Also, as Dorothy was the woman that Credence hated the most, why did he look unhappy now that she was dead?
Could it be that… he had really fallen in love with Dorothy?
At that moment, Rosalie was so angry that she was about to go crazy. She used all her strength to suppress her jealousy.
“There’s no need. You should rest since you just had an operation. I’ll go check on her.”
As soon as Credence finished speaking, the door was slammed shut with a heavy thud.
In the quiet space, Rosalie stared fiercely at the closed door with an extremely upset expression on her face.
“Credence, I will not let you become another woman’s man again. Never!”

When Credence arrived at the door of the operating theatre, his cold aura shocked Jonathan, who walked out from an empty ward next door.
When it was clear that the person was his close friend, Jonathan did not say a word. He grabbed Credence’s arm with one hand, and dragged him forward.
“Can we talk after I see Dorothy?”
Credence said coldly.
Credence’s words made Jonathan stop. He turned around with a look of disbelief on his handsome face. “Credence, you don’t have to go to the operating theatre to see Dorothy. She’s here. A nurse was about to push her into the morgue when I bumped into her. At that time, an idea came to my mind and I convinced the nurse to push Dorothy into this empty ward. To be honest, I don’t know why, but I felt that there is something fishy about Dorothy’s accidental death. So I examined her carefully from head to toe. Do you know what I found?”
“What did you find?”
Credence suddenly turned around, and his extremely cold eyes locked onto Jonathan firmly.
The two of them stood very close to each other. Jonathan felt the chill coming from Credence’s body, and he could not help but shiver. He pulled him into the room and said, “Well, I can’t be sure for now. You’d better look at it yourself. After all, you are more familiar with Dorothy’s face and body than I am.”
Credence was a hygiene freak. He did not like to have skin contact with other people, especially when two big men walked hand in hand. He could not stand it.
He shook off Jonathan’s hand and walked to the silver-white cart without looking back. His sharp eyes fell on the woman lying on it. He scanned her very seriously.
At first glance, it was indeed Dorothy.
Her face was extraordinarily pale. Her smooth black hair seemed inexplicably withered and yellowed, and it was rough.
Credence’s deep gaze followed her face, chin, collarbone, and slowly toward her motionless chest.
Suddenly, a surprising ray appeared in the depths of the man’s pitch-black eyes.
Her chest was too small!
In the past, the size of her breast was no less than a D cup.
But the woman in front of him was only a B cup.
Even if it was because she had lost too much blood, it was impossible for them to change so much.
What the h*ll was going on?
He was so surprised he could not stand still. His body swayed back and forth for a good fifteen minutes before he came back to his senses. He asked Jonathan for a pair of medical gloves and put them on slowly. His cold fingers went to the woman’s neck. Then, he slowly raised her chin and studied her carefully and thoroughly.
He found an area of omission.
This woman’s face was wider than Dorothy’s and the surface of her skin was rougher than Dorothy’s. She did not have the delicateness of Dorothy’s tender skin.
Credence stretched out two of his fingers to poke at and wipe the woman’s face. Gradually, he collected a thick layer of white powder. As the thick powder fell off, the woman’s true face was revealed.
It was a woman in her twenties. She had delicate facial features and a sharp chin, but her skin color was slightly more yellow and her pores were thick. She looked alike to Dorothy.
This makeup technique could be regarded as ingenious.
But, in the end, the woman in front of him not Dorothy.
Inexplicably, Credence let out a sigh of relief. He took off his gloves and threw them casually into the trash can. His handsome face immediately tensed up and he said to Jonathan coldly, “Rosalie told me that she watched Dorothy walk into the operating theatre, and she received a healthy kidney from Dorothy. But now, the woman who died on the operating table was not Dorothy. You know the process of the hospital very well. Can you tell me which part went wrong?”
“There is only one possibility. Someone replaced Dorothy in the middle of the operation.”
Jonathan frowned and thought, “Whoever can do this in an orderly manner must be at least a chief doctor.”
“Investigate this matter immediately!”
Credence lit a cigarette and took a puff. When he looked up again, his eyes were like deep pools of water. “I want to know who did this to my woman behind my back.”
This night was destined to be a sleepless night for many people.
At the same time, in the villa area in the northwest suburbs of Talco City.
In a luxurious guest room of a villa, a pale-faced woman laid on a magnetic bed for physical therapy. Her eyes were closed, and her breathing was slightly weak. She was like a sleeping beauty in a magic spell!
