When Credence arrived at the hospital, Rosalie had just been sent to the emergency room.
The attending doctor told him, “Mr. Scott, Miss Fisher was attacked by a few thugs at the underground parking lot. Not only did she sustain a brain injury, but she is likely to become a vegetable. Also…”
Credence asked coldly, “What else?”
The doctor hesitated for a while, then gritted his teeth and said, “She was raped by those thugs. The lower part of her body is severely torn and she is suffering from internal bleeding. I’m afraid that she couldn’t make it.”
When Credence heard that Rosalie’s life was in danger, his body trembled. His sharp gaze fell on Rosalie, who was lying motionless on the operating table.
Her face, which used to be delicate and beautiful, was now marred by dark red bloodstains. There was a centimeters-long gash on her forehead. Her lips were cracked, and there were dense teeth marks on them.
The most shocking part was the lower part of her body.
Both of her thighs, which were covered with bruises, were splayed out weakly. A large amount of blood could be seen flowing out from between her legs, drenching the white sheets in an instant.
Credence remained expressionless as he stooped down. Gradually, his gaze softened. He then grabbed a clean towel and began to carefully wipe her blood-stained face and neck, as well as her inner thighs.
When he wiped Rosalie’s right hand, he was shocked to find that her nails were all broken. She was holding a butterfly-shaped diamond brooch in her palm.
It was gripped very tightly.
Credence patiently eased it out of her grip and took the brooch from her hand. At first glance, he recognized it as the only birthday present he had bought for Dorothy during their four years of marriage.
That night, he had been drunk. She had laid under him obediently and allowed him to do whatever he wanted with her.
When his desire had been satisfied, he had gifted the brooch to Dorothy on the spur of the moment.
Credence had long forgotten about this small gift. He did not expect that that gift would end up in Rosalie’s hands after her sudden encounter with the thugs.
Things became very clear. There was no doubt that Rosalie’s misfortune was related to Dorothy.
He suddenly recalled a night half a month ago. Rosalie was standing under the moonlight, looking beautiful as ever. She gave him a soft smile, saying, “Credence, I will give myself to you completely after we get married.”
He couldn’t believe that such a pure and innocent girl had been cruelly ruined by her sister!
“Dorothy Fisher, I’ll kill you!” he muttered under his breath.
“Don’t be afraid, Rosalie. I’ll make sure she is brought to justice!”
Credence held the diamond brooch tightly in his hand. The sharp edges pierced deeply into his palm. Blood flowed down his fingers, but he seemed to have lost his sense of pain. As if feeling nothing, he walked out of the emergency room with a fierce and dangerous look in his eyes.
…
Juelz heard the sound of the doorknob turning and saw Credence walking in with no expression on his face. There was a faint smell of blood emanating from his body. Juelz had a gut feeling that Credence was up to no good. He hurriedly spread his arms out to block Credence. Then, he yelled at Dorothy, who was laying on the hospital bed, “Dory, go to the bathroom and lock the door. Leave him to me.”
No matter what, he would not let Dorothy face Credence alone.
Dorothy did not escape to the bathroom. Instead, she stood behind Juelz and stared at Credence without saying a word.
To her surprise, Credence had come to her faster than she expected.
Was he there to give her an explanation after finding out that the child in her belly indeed belonged to him?
Credence paused. His facial features were filled with rage, and his eyes were slightly narrowed. Looking her coldly straight in the eyes, anger rose in him like a tide.
Then, Credence shot an icy glare at Juelz, who was blocking his way. “Get the hell out of my way!”
“F*ck you!” Juelz raised his eyebrows provocatively. “This is Dory’s ward. You should be the one to get the hell out of here!”
“If you don’t want to die, f*ck off!” Credence suddenly laughed.
“Are you serious? You f*cking killed Dory’s child. Not only did you not apologize, but you are here making a scene! Are you still human? You son of a b*tch! A*shole!”
Credence was so disgusted with Juelz’s yelling that he suddenly punched Juelz in the face.
Having caught off guard, Juelz failed to dodge his punch.
“D*mn it!”
Juelz felt a sharp pain on his face. He reached out to touch it and was stunned when he felt a lump on his cheek.
The face that he was so proud of was going to be destroyed by Credence!
“F*ck you!”
Juelz was enraged. He rolled his sleeves up and was ready to fight to the death with Credence. However, before he could even stand firm, he was kicked to the ground mercilessly.
It all happened so fast!
By the time Dorothy regained her senses, Juelz had already been beaten severely by Credence. His face was all swollen. She watched as Credence was about to land a vicious hit on Juelz’s back…
With that punch, Juelz would be either dead or disabled.
“Stop it!”
Dorothy shouted anxiously and threw herself on top of Juelz. She did not consider whether she could withstand the force of that punch.
However, she did not feel any pain. Instead, Credence had grabbed hold of her shoulders, dragging her out of the ward roughly.
Dorothy struggled fiercely. Her face turned red with anger. “What the h*ll are you doing?”
He turned a deaf ear to her question.
Then, the door was shut with a bang. Dorothy could no longer hear Juelz’s fierce shouting.
Credence dragged Dorothy into the emergency room. Despite her struggling, he pressed her against the door. He then revealed the bloody butterfly-shaped brooch in his palm. His sinister gaze bore into her as if she was his nemesis.
“Dorothy, look at this brooch and tell me, do you wish Rosalie to die so badly? Not only did you hire those thugs to r*pe her, but you also ordered them to beat her into a vegetative state. Are you that happy to see her suffer, and to watch me suffer because of her?”
Originally, Credence had been feeling a pang of unprecedented guilt toward Dorothy due to her miscarriage. But when he thought that she had actually used such a despicable method against Rosalie, he could not hold back his anger any more!
He pulled her hair tightly, not having the slightest pity for her. His eyes were cold and cruel as he said, “You first targeted my father, and now you even hurt your own sister. Next time, are you going to murder your husband?”
“I didn’t! I didn’t do anything!”
Dorothy’s scalp stung with pain, but she endured the pain and explained with her trembling lips.
In a daze, she felt his cold fingers moving upward along her thigh and sliding in her skirt…
“Credence, let me go! You a*shole! Since you’re so sure that I’m guilty, then send me to jail. What right do you have to humiliate me like this?” She kicked and bit him as if she had gone mad. “I did not scheme against you, nor did I hurt Sheldon, let alone Rosalie. Why are you framing me? Why did you kill my child? Why do you have to put all the blame on me?”
“I hate you! Credence Scott, I hate you so much!”
Screaming hysterically, she struggled with both her hands and feet. While struggling, her long fingernails cut his cheek, leaving a red scratch on his fair skin instantly.
At this point, Credence’s anger exploded. He raised his hand and tore off her beige dress…
