Mia’s pov
Once the dress pooled around my feet, it took a few moments for me to step out of it because I was trying to get my bearings together. My heartbeat has accelerated and my face felt hot enough to fry an egg due to how much mortification I’m currently feeling.
I could feel Lorenzo’s eyes on my back, on the curve of my ass in the flimsy underwear I had worn beneath the dress. I hadn’t worn a bra underneath the dress, which is why I’m still yet to turn around to face him.
I swallowed emptily while wondering if he expects me to turn around and walk over to the closet with my chest completely bare while he’s in here right now, but as the train of thought was still going on in my head, the sound of his footsteps retreating echoed around the room, tugging me out of my thoughts at once.
Next, I heard the familiar sound of the closet getting opened and I felt a weird feeling settled in my stomach at the thought of Lorenzo finding what he wants me to wear tonight by himself.
Because it felt extremely weird to still be standing this way while the cold air of the room kept making me shiver from time to time, I shifted my weight around a little before going as still as a board at once, as soon as I heard his footsteps coming close to me once again.
I swallowed emptily as he spoke in a few seconds, voice gruff and low.
“Here, this is what you’d be wearing tonight.” He stood behind me and thrusted the supposed outfit in my face and I hastily grabbed it to avoid him having to jerk me around till I’d be facing him.
I glanced down at the dress and grimaced a little. The dress was sheer, with darker material at the bust area, and the crotch area. The rest of the material was sheer, and designed with gleaming stones that glittered beautifully.
I bit on my bottom lip while regarding the dress for a few minutes before speaking.
“Uh, isn’t it too… bad?”
“Just get the damn dress on.” Was his response and so I pursed my lips before shrugging the dress on while making sure to be careful because of the stones on it. The end of the dress rolled up and while getting pulled over my head because it got stuck atop my butt.
As I reached behind me to pull it over it, a gasp left my lips as my hands got pushed aside by Lorenzo’s big ones, right before he proceeded to tug the dress down, over my butt. The coldness of his fingers grazed the skin of my hips a little and I made sure to suppress the shiver that feeling brought upon me.
I glanced down at the dress on my body, noticing how it hugged my body seductively and stopped at the top part of my thighs, a few inches beneath my butt. I’m sure I’m going to attract so much attention as soon as I got to wherever it is we’re going to tonight, and I wasn’t sure of how to feel about that. Thinking about it alone made me squirm from anxiety as I slowly turned around until I was staring up at Lorenzo.
He took a full look of my entire outfit and nodded his head once.
I bit on my lip, taking that as approval and was about to walk past him when his hand shut out to clamp firmly on my hip, causing my breath to stutter to a stop in the middle of my chest at once.
“Where we’re going tonight, I’d need you to put on an aura of someone who knows she’s ridiculously gorgeous, of someone who knows that every man who sets his eyes on her tonight, would definitely want to fuck her. I need you to put on the most confident aura ever, and you need to cling unto me a lot tonight, like you know you’ve bagged the biggest catch ever.”
As he spoke, my cheeks went aflame at once at how crass the beginning of his sentence sounded. I knew I wasn’t gorgeous or sexy like he was implying me to act like, but that didn’t stop the words from getting into my head a little.

Before we alighted the car together, I sucked in a deep breath and tried to master putting on the aura of an extremely confident person, a personality which I do not naturally possess like my twin.
The paparazzis were on us as soon as we alighted the car. Lorenzo’s hands clamped on my hips at once and I made sure to grin and wave at the cameras, holding my head high as we trudged into where an auction was already taking place.
“You’re doing a fine job already.” Lorenzo’s voice was low and his lips brushed against my ear as he spoke and I shivered a little, stomach twisting as the praise engulfed me.
As Lorenzo mingled with a few men here and there, I stood beside him with my eyes narrowed and my hand gripping his like someone who knows she has bagged the biggest catch ever.
The biggest catch ever my foot. I thought to myself as I let my eyes wander around.
My eyes ended up finding a familiar pair, one which I recognized at once because we had actually attended school together.
She goes by Eloise.
I excused myself and went to her at once, and we hugged each other at once. We weren’t the closest back in school, but it was still nice to see each other right now.
Although this time, her smile didn’t reach her eyes and I got to find out the reason for that as soon as she informed me she had just gotten married off to one of the men in the mafia. The man looked a little bit younger than Romero and I gagged internally a little while sympathizing with her.
“You’re lucky to have gotten kidnapped instead of being married to a demon, like Romero was before he got killed by your captor.” She whispered passionately and I chuckled dryly because she must have certainly forgotten that Lorenzo isn’t just a devil.
He’s someone even the devil is afraid of.
Being kidnapped but not kept in hiding, or away from the circle where news of my presence is certainly going to circulate through at once, is enough proof of how feared Lorenzo really is.
Everyone in here right now knows I was kidnapped on my wedding night and that my husband was killed as well, but no one can ever dare to bring it up. It’s obvious that my father is now avoiding gatherings like this, most definitely because of Lorenzo himself.
When I returned back to Lorenzo’s side, I pressed up against him and shivered as his hand settled atop my ass. The feeling of multiple eyes on me right now made me squirm, right before Lorenzo began to speak.
“You had better not faint from seeing blood tonight because it’s going to get real messy any moment from now.”
