Mia’s pov
Surprisingly, he didn’t force the food into my mouth like he had done yesterday.
But, he also didn’t invite me to come eat out with him.
Instead, he ignored me and ordered food for himself, eating it by himself and leaving me to starve, which made annoyance brew inside of me.
I knew it was pretty absurd of me to be feeling entitled to this extent; but I don’t even care.
I’m being held against my own will, being forced to prepare a bunch of stupid ass food which I’ve never been made to prepare in my entire life. It’s only fair that he fed me, since he had literally kidnapped me in the first place.
I didn’t bother to hide my scowl each time our eyes met.
I diligently cleaned up the entire kitchen which I had turned upside down when attempting to prepare breakfast this morning, and as usual, it was extremely stressful. The smell of Lorenzo’s food which kept wafting into my nose wasn’t helping matters as well.
I let out a sigh every now and then as I worked, wishing there was a way I could strangle him.
If someone had told me that Lorenzo and I would go back to this after what had undoubtedly brewed between the two of us last night, I’d have laughed in the person face without thinking twice.
But now, one thing was very clear to me. The fact that I had clearly underestimated his acting skills, that is.
As I worked, I wondered if he was bipolar.
Frankly, I wasn’t sure if there was another word that’s best used to describe how Lorenzo usually acts.
Perhaps, he wasn’t bipolar and is just doing all of this in order to keep throwing me off and catch me off guard every damn moment.
I let out a long sigh once I was done with mopping the floor, which had undoubtedly taken me over an hour. The entire floor was soaking wet and I proceeded to wipe it dry with a soft rag.
Cleaning the pots and pans came next, and that was as hectic as the mopping, even though I still added them into the dishwasher after rinsing them off.
After about thirty minutes, I was finally done with the kitchen, leaving it sparking clean. I let out a long sigh and stretched a little, catching my breath for long minutes before I began to exit the kitchen.
I pointedly looked in everywhere but in Luca’s direction, not wanting to see the amused look on his face right now. I was about to climb up the stairs when his voice made me come to a stand still.
“Mia.”
He rarely calls my name, but when he does, it was with something in his voice that rattled my entire body in a way which I was yet to fully place my fingers on. A slight tingle crawled over the middle of my spine as I slowly turned around, the scowl still on my face as my gaze landed on Luca’s face.
“Yes?” I responded, while trying not to dwell on the slight lift of his eyebrow as he looked me up and down, right before he beckoned me over with his index finger moving in a come hither movement. I felt myself stiffened some more, right before my mouth ran dry, because I suddenly felt lost.
Lorenzo rolled his eyes after a few seconds before speaking.
“Come here.”
Not wanting to get on his nerves, I made my way towards him and stopped a few feet away, and hands folded around my chest.
Lorenzo was leaning against the backrest of the couch, and one of his legs was propped up on the table positioned in front of him.
“That’s yours.”
He nodded towards the table as he spoke, and when I followed his head’s movement, it was for my gaze to land on a separate package of food sitting in the middle of the table, which had definitely not been there before.
That made the annoyance in me get more intense. I had been working on an empty stomach and one acted like he didn’t get me anything, torturing me for over an hour, only to hand me the food right now like I was some sort of dog or something.
I didn’t bother to hide my scowl and displeasure as I glanced back at his face while responding.
“Thank you, but I’ll pass.”
That made Lorenzo frown in confusion, and then he tilted his head sideways. “You’re clearly hungry. Why are you declining it?”
I gritted my teeth in irritation. “I’m not hungry.”
“Stop telling lies, your stomach literally growled moments ago.” He responded and instantly, I felt color flood my cheeks.
“It doesn’t matter if I’m hungry, I’m not accepting your food, but thanks for offering.” I responded with squared shoulders. I might be held against my own will and forced to do absurd things, but a beggar is what I’d never be.
Although, Lorenzo wasn’t having any of that.
“I don’t care what you think. You’re clearly hungry, and you’d eat, is that clear?” He warned and this time, I accepted the food, without wiping the scowl off my face.
“You ruined breakfast, and I was still kind enough to get you breakfast. The only thing you should be showing me right now is some fucking gratitude and not some goddamn attitude, you fucking brat.”
As he spoke, I felt heat bloom in my cheeks as I walked away from him and flopping into a seat, choosing to not respond.
“You had better eat the damn food to avoid making me angry.” He called out after a few moments. I pursed my lips, determined to not touch the damn meal. Although as soon as I opened the plate, the tantalizing scent filled up my nose, and I just couldn’t resist having a bite because I was freaking famished.
Once I had cleared my plates – to my utmost mortification, I disposed of the plates and began to head upstairs, determined to not thank him for the food, because I never wanted it in the first place after all.
But, Lorenzo called my name once again, preventing me from leaving like I wanted to, and when I walked towards him this time, he did the unexpected.
He tugged me down all of a sudden atop his rock hard chest with a grip on my wrist.
