Natasha became a little fearful, she has half a million dollars in her account alongside a few savings but can that protect her? Should she employ the service of a bodyguard? Her thought process became very troubled.
Nonetheless, she carried her handbag and walked out of the building. About twenty minutes later, she arrived from the taxi that took her from the company to Titiana’s house.
She was soon out of the car, while approaching the house, she sighted a masculine figure seated at the balcony, he was backing her and seemed to be drinking. This person didn’t look like other security guards that were guarding the place.
Natasha approached the person and when she got before the person, she realized it was Dmitry. He had a bottle of wine before him alongside a glass cup. Also, his iPad was placed carefully at the table. It seemed as if he was reading and also doing something on his iPad.
“Hey.”
Dmitry looked up and on seeing her, he spoke, “I thought you are here to treat my little sister?”
“Oh yeah, I was just curious to know who was seated here. I didn’t know you would be here,” Natasha said and immediately turned. About walking away, she suddenly paused and turned back to him.
This time, Dmitry had continued what he was doing. “Can I request something, please?”
Since this was another rare opportunity to meet Dmitry, she thought she could take advantage of it.
“Go on.” He answered without bothering to look at her.
“My father is threatening me. I’m scared for myself and those living with me. Is there something I can do in exchange for your protection?” Natasha asked.
“What you can do?” He asked and poured another content from the bottle into the empty glass cup on the table.
“You said your protection can not be exchanged for anything so I want to know if there’s something I can do for you to ensure myself and those living with me are protected.” Natasha asked.
“Nothing.” He answered, swiping the screen of his iPad.
“Of course I know you have everything but I really do need your protection.” Natasha said.
Dmitry looked at him with a cold face, “woman, just because I came personally to your house and saved you from your father doesn’t mean you can think we are friends.”
“For the record, I did that because you treated my grandfather at a critical time. We are not friends! Kindly excuse me and go do your work. The only business between you and I is that you ensure my sister gets better.” He said harshly.
Natasha’s heart sank and then she took a few steps back, “okay… okay.” then she wobbled out of his presence.
When Natasha got inside the room that Titiana was, she observed that she was drawing something on the wall. “Hey Titiana.”
Titaned turned and ran to her, she had been wishing to see her again. She had only met her once and had felt weirdly comfortable around her. She hugged her tightly while Natasha let her remain in her embrace. Although she was getting choked by the smoke of his cigarette, she still didn’t push her away nonetheless.
After they had disengaged, Natasha carefully made her sit and began the first set of treatment on her. Because she wasn’t so mentally stable, it took her eight hours before she was done.
After helping her to fall asleep, Natasha checked her wrist watch and noticed it was already 3AM in the midnight.
As she walked out of the building, she wondered if this work was worth it. It’s worth the money, yes but that’s at the expense of not spending much time with her kids. Although the nanny is trying her best, Natasha still feels that she needs to spend lots of time with her kids.
As for Titiana’s treatment, Natasha’s estimated time for her to get fully healed is one month. If she can’t speak after one month, she’s most likely not to ever be able to speak again in this lifetime, in which case, all her time and efforts will be wasted as she would have to return the advance money that Dmitry had given to her.
Natasha had already ordered for a Uber so she just waited a few seconds outside the building and the Uber man came. Once she got inside, the car began to move.
Soon, she was home. On stepping out of the Uber, she saw a strange car parked before the house. She continued to approach her apartment anyways, all of a sudden, she saw some men stepped down, they were dressed in black and were pointing guns at her, ordering to stay rooted to the spot.
Natasha’s heart pounds heavily against her chest. She was immediately carried and thrown into the trunk of the car.
The following day at work, Pavel went to Natasha’s desk for the fifth time but Natasha was nowhere to be found. He had tried her line multiple times but it wasn’t going through. He was worried. Natasha didn’t have any friends amidst the staff so nobody knows her whereabouts.
Pavel was soon in his office, thinking of why Natasha was absent from work. Once it was break time, Pavel went to the legal department and spoke to an old friend there. The old friend let him check the details that Natasha had submitted when she was applying for a job at the legal department. There, he was able to find her home address.
Pavel then drove his Hyundai Elantra to the house. On getting there, he met with a woman with the name Naomi, “so she didn’t come home at all yesterday?”
“She didn’t. I have also tried her number repeatedly but it didn’t go through.” Naomi responded. “I have already reported to the police this morning.”
Pavel nodded and then suddenly heard cries of baby, “Is that your babies or …”
“They are mine,” Naomi quickly responded. She didn’t know if Pavel was an enemy or a friend but she remembered that Natasha had told her to act like the kid’s mother.
Pavel didn’t fully believe Naomi, the way she spoke, he felt like the woman may not be telling the truth. But is there any logical reason why Naomi will claim someone else’s kids as hers? Perhaps, the kids are truly hers.
“Do you know where she’s likely to be?” Pavel asked.
“Well, she informed me that she won’t be coming home directly from yesterday anymore. And that she would be going to Titiana’s lodge first to treat her before finally coming home.”
“Okay, I’ll go to the place and make an inquiry.” Pavel said.
“Okay, thank you. Please keep me updated,” Naomi said and Pavel nodded.
Pavel then immediately drove to Titiana’s lodge, on getting there, the guards stopped him from entering. “You know I’m not an enemy. I need to see Titiana.”
“Mr. Dmitry had given a command that nobody should come to see Titiana except miss. Natasha.” Says one of the leaders of the guards.
“Well, Natasha is missing. I need to know if she’s still here.” Pavel said.
The two leaders exchanged a surprised glance, “Natasha left here yesterday around 3AM.”
“3AM?” Pavel repeated. “What in the world is she doing till that time?”
“What kind of car came to pick her?” Pavel asked.
“We’ll need to check the CCTV camera footage for that.”
“Please do. I need all the details of the car,” Pavel demanded.
One of the heads of the guards left and then came back five minutes later with some printed papers, therein were all the details about the car that picked up Natasha.
“Thank you but I still need to see Titiana.”
“I don’t like repeating myself,” the second of the guards said to Pavel.
“Three thousand dollars, guys.” He attempted to bribe them.
The two guards communicated with their faces and came to an agreement. He transferred the money to their account and went inside.
Titiana was however not in the living room, he began to check other rooms but still didn’t see her. When he got to the kitchen, he noticed that the burglaries had been ripped apart and that there had been an escape.
“What!” Pavel went to the window and peeped through the door, he saw that way beyond that house were just woods. He was very confused. Did Titiana ran away or was she kidnapped?
How come the guards did not know?
Pavel then stepped out in an attempt to report the situation to the guards but he was stunned when he saw about ten police vehicles, all of them with guns pointed at him.
The two guards he bribed so he could get in already had handcuffs in their hands. He became even more bewildered.
Dmitry then appeared and walked towards him.
“Mr. Dmitry, what’s going on?” Pavel asked
“Where’s my sister?” Dmitry asked with a clenched fist.
“What in the world are you talking about? I just came around and I couldn’t find her. I’m just about to report to your men.” Pavel says.
“You were fired from attending to my sister. What are you doing here?” Dmitry questioned.
“Natasha is missing. I came here to look for her.”
Dmitry took a few steps back, “I did not believe you. Some people called me claiming they had my sister in their custody. I’ll assume you either work for these people or know something about them.” Then Dmitry made a gesture.
Before Pavel could say more words, the police officers approached him, handcuffed him and took him away.
