Flynn spent an entire afternoon at Southridge Mountain. After the Blade Special Forces finished their weighted training, they split into two teams for a round of combat exercises.
He then gathered everyone and gave feedback to each member.
“Now that you know your weaknesses, focus on improving them.”
“If you correct these flaws and train according to my plan, you will definitely defeat Ember Drake!”
Flynn’s speech fired up the Blade Special Forces members, who admired him even more.
They vowed not to disappoint him, training hard and even asking Brandon to extend their daily training hours.
“To be honest, Instructor Clark, I haven’t seen these soldiers so obedient in a long time.”
“This is all thanks to you!”
Billy Calder couldn’t help but feel emotional seeing the Blade Special Forces so spirited.
Flynn shook his head. “It’s not that they were disobedient; they just have their pride.”
“In the military, strength commands respect. If you want to be an excellent commander, you must have the power to command them!”
“But they are all outstanding. This time, they will definitely make a name for themselves!”
Billy Calder nodded seriously and said, “If Blade makes it into the top three this time, I will report to the Commander-in-Chief and recommend you for a Major General rank!”
“No need!” Flynn refused outright. “I became the chief instructor of Blade only because of Callie. I have no interest in becoming a Major General.”
“I’ve already discussed this with Brandon; there’s no need to bring it up again.”
Billy Calder frowned.
Brandon nodded and said, “Major General, Mr. Clark doesn’t want to participate in the military district challenge with the team.”
“Nor does he want his name in the military archives.”
Clayton was stunned upon hearing this and looked at Flynn with a surge of emotions.
He felt utterly ashamed.
He had clashed with Flynn twice before, thinking he could surpass Flynn through hard work in the future.
But today, Flynn displayed the might of a Great Grandmaster, shattering his pride.
Moreover, when the Major General offered Flynn a promotion to Major General, he declined?!
“What Flynn could easily obtain is my lifelong dream…”
At that moment, Clayton was completely convinced.
Flynn seemed like an unreachable star in the sky, only to be admired from afar!
Major Faith was also shocked.
She developed a strong interest in Flynn.
You could say every move of a Great Grandmaster carries an aura of authority, yet this man watched beauty videos in the car.
He acted carefree and nonchalant.
But when he arrived at the Blade base, he stood tall and stern, exuding a serious masculinity.
This man was too special.
Too charming.
No fuss over trivial matters, no ambiguity in serious affairs.
“Alright, since Instructor Clark insists, I won’t press further.” Billy Calder was deeply moved and felt even more that Flynn was destined for greatness.
…
At 7 PM, Blade’s outdoor training ended, and Brandon drove Flynn back to the city.
“Mr. Clark, I heard you got divorced?”
Brandon couldn’t help but ask.
“It seems you all are quite interested in my personal life!” Flynn frowned and replied coldly.
Brandon quickly explained, “Mr. Clark, you misunderstood. Marcel has a loose tongue and can’t keep things to himself.”
“He mentioned it when visiting the old man, which is how we found out.”
“I meant no offense; I was just puzzled about why you got divorced when everything seemed fine.”
Flynn remained calm and silent.
He didn’t like discussing his private life, and it wasn’t worth talking about.
Seeing Flynn’s silence, Brandon continued, “Mr. Clark, ever since you cured Callie, she smiles much more.”
“Especially when she talks about you; she always has a smile on her face.”
“The Pearce family owes you too much; we can’t repay you enough.”
Brandon hesitated for a moment before mustering the courage to say,
“Mr. Clark, the old man discussed with me yesterday about wanting Callie to marry you. What do you think?”
“Oh! Of course, this is us aiming high.”
“But Callie is definitely a good girl. She can cook well, knows various arts, and is very considerate-just like her mother. She would make an excellent homemaker…”
Flynn waved his hand and smiled as he refused,
“Miss Pearce is perfect, a true lady of high standing. But I only see her as a friend and have no other intentions.”
“So let’s not bring this up again.”
Brandon looked disappointed but nodded dejectedly,
“Alright! We support any decision Mr. Clark makes. Callie knows she doesn’t match up to you but said she’s willing to change anything for you and won’t give up.”
Flynn felt a headache coming on and sighed as he leaned back and closed his eyes to rest.
To be honest, Callie’s figure and looks could easily rank in the top ten in Niarak.
In terms of talent and virtue, she was undoubtedly number one.
Such a girl would be excellent at managing a household, but Flynn just didn’t feel anything for her!
After a few minutes of silence, Flynn’s phone rang.
It was Niarak’s Chief of Police, Mr. Howe.
The mentally ill person who saw ghosts at the funeral home had been found. He asked if Flynn wanted to come over and take a look.
Flynn perked up and headed over after getting the address.
The Hummer soon arrived at Niarak’s western suburbs.
There was an old residential area built in the 1980s. It was very rundown, with most residents having moved out.
The mentally ill person lived here alone, surviving by begging and stealing.
He was currently huddled in a corner with his mouth covered.
His clothes were tattered, hair disheveled, shivering uncontrollably without making a sound.
“Mr. Clark, I couldn’t get anything out of him; he’s too uncooperative,” Mr. Howe said helplessly as Flynn walked in.
Flynn replied calmly, “He’s probably been caught stealing often and is scared of you guys.”
“Everyone leave; I’ll stay with him alone for a while.”
Mr. Howe and his team left. Flynn placed his hand on the man’s shoulder and said softly,
“Don’t be afraid; they’ve gone.”
The man’s body stiffened suddenly. He turned his head in shock,
“I’ve made myself invisible; how can you still see me? Who are you? Razor eyes?”
Flynn was taken aback but then smiled,
“You guessed right; I have razor eyes.”
“What? Why are you here?” The man was startled, his murky eyes showing nervousness as he tightly grabbed Flynn’s hand,
“Are they unhappy with me for being disobedient and want to take back my stealth ability?”
Flynn cursed inwardly at how crazy this guy was but decided to play along,
“Yes, they said you’ve been disobedient lately and want to take back your stealth ability.”
“But they also said that if you’re willing to answer some questions, they’ll give you another chance!”
The man got excited upon hearing this and quickly nodded,
“Okay! I’m willing! As long as they don’t take back my stealth ability, I’ll do anything!”
“Quickly tell me what questions you want me to answer?”
