After arranging everything, Rose and Flynn left the R&D department.
They reached the parking lot, and Rose turned to Flynn, “Do you want to stop by the office?”
“No, I need to head to Southridge Mountain this afternoon.”
“And before that, a trip to Orco Real Estate.”
“By the way, how’s the Tempering Body Tea working?” Flynn asked.
Rose nodded, “It’s good. I can stay up until midnight without feeling tired.”
Flynn was speechless, “That’s a sleep aid and health booster, not Red Bull to keep you awake!”
“You can’t protect your health with miracles if you don’t sleep properly!”
He had developed the Tempering Body Tea to improve Rose’s health, yet here she was, using it as a stimulant.
“I’ll start sleeping early once Acebegron Clear Relief blows up,” Rose stubbornly said.
Flynn sighed, “Even if Acebegron Clear Relief fails, the tri-alliance won’t crumble. They’ll revert to their old tactics from a decade ago, starting a financial war.”
“That will be the real showdown, the decisive moment. Are you planning to overwork yourself again then?”
“When will this end?”
“I’ve told you before, I’m here. Why worry so much?”
Rose’s expression was cold as she replied, “I don’t want to stop.”
Flynn fell silent.
Unarguable.
Her mother had been tricked into suicide by Bone Jade, her father framed and imprisoned with not much time left. The Sharp family was shattered, utterly devastated.
Surrounded by hatred, only her relentless work allowed Rose to temporarily forget her pain.
No amount of counseling or advice could solve her problems.
Only by completely crushing the tri-alliance and reclaiming what was lost could she find peace.
“Are you really over with Madeline?” Rose changed the subject abruptly.
“What else? You think I would fake a divorce?” Flynn retorted.
Rose nodded slightly, “So, you plan to be with Scarlet now?”
“What else? Should I be with you? After all the help I’ve given you, not even a word of comfort when I got divorced,” Flynn rolled his eyes.
He knew she was aware of his relationship with Scarlet.
It baffled him why she would ask such a question.
Clearly, she was pretending to be ignorant!
Rose paused, then asked, “How would you comfort me? After this big fight settles down, come over to my place for a drink?”
Flynn pretended to be morose, “That’s going to be a long wait. I’m upset now. What should I do?”
“How about a hug, or let me hold your waist?”
Rose’s face immediately darkened, and she glared at Flynn, “Behave! If you want to hold someone, go hold Scarlet’s waist!”
Flynn’s expression darkened, and he muttered, “Can’t you take a joke? You have no sense of humor!”
“I wonder if you’re frigid. You’ll probably stay single all your life; no man would dare marry you!”
“Mind your own business!” Rose’s expression turned even stormier, and she raised her hand as if to hit him, but Flynn dodged.
Just then, her phone rang. After a brief conversation, she turned to Flynn, “The Dragon Creek Society called. I don’t need to go to Pelens’ Dragon’s Creek Lake; they’re coming to Niarak.”
“To Niarak? Isn’t it a tradition to hold the recruitment at Dragon’s Creek Lake?” Flynn was surprised.
Rose had expressed her interest in joining the Dragon Creek Society, and Flynn had researched them online. The society, established fifteen years ago, traditionally held their annual recruitment on a small island at Dragon’s Creek Lake.
Their decision to come to Niarak this time was indeed unexpected.
Rose seemed puzzled herself, “They said it was Chairman Bobby’s idea.”
“He wants to find someone in Niarak.”
Flynn nodded, “That’s good, saves us the trip.”
“You handle the arrangements, then. We’ll go together.”
After a brief exchange, the two parted ways.
Flynn headed to Orco Real Estate.
The staff there quickly stood to greet him as he entered.
Molly was learning something from an employee, her face showing a faint smile.
However, her smile vanished as soon as Flynn entered, and she went back to her work, not looking up again.
Flynn glanced at her and went directly upstairs.
Just as he opened the door to the president’s office, Scarlet greeted him with a bow and a teasing smile, “Welcome, Flynn, to guide the work at Orco Real Estate.”
Flynn noted Scarlet’s tight light-blue jeans and quipped, “No black stockings to welcome me, that’s a negative!”
Scarlet ignored his jest, pulled him to the boss’s chair, and opened a takeout box on the desk, “Haven’t had lunch yet, right? I got your favorite noodles, try them.”
Scarlet sat directly across Flynn at the desk and lifted the noodles with a fork, feeding him a bite.
“They don’t taste as good as the noodles at the Crimson Star Hotel,” Flynn commented after a chew, shaking his head.
Scarlet rolled her eyes, pouting, “At least I went down to get them myself. Can’t you just lie a little?”
“Hmm, why do I smell blood?” Flynn asked, his tone half serious.
Scarlet sniffed him, furrowing her brow, “What have you been up to?”
“Had to take care of someone at the Blade base. Ended up a bit messy, might have gotten some blood on me,” Flynn said nonchalantly.
Scarlet was shocked, “Who?”
“Sullivan, Ismael’s father,” Flynn replied casually as he took another bite of his noodles, as if discussing something mundane.
Scarlet gasped.
Just last night, Flynn had mentioned that while helping Trusova, Ismael and Kseniya had caused trouble and Flynn had broken their arms and legs.
And now Sullivan was taken care of by Flynn too?
The Cox family really was unlucky to cross paths with Flynn.
Scarlet, a little puzzled by Flynn’s dual nature-carefree yet deadly serious when needed-looked at him with a mix of fear and curiosity.
“I guess I should be careful too. Wouldn’t want to end up on your bad side one day, right? Should I leave now?” she joked, feigning fear.
Flynn, playing along with a mock fierce look, grinned wickedly, “I’m in a bad mood right now, unless you let me touch your leg.”
His hands found their way to Scarlet’s legs.
Scarlet didn’t resist; instead, she smiled and continued feeding Flynn noodles.
Across the office, Molly, having finally managed to print the documents with a colleague’s help, intended to bring them to Flynn for review.
“Being a Semi-Grandmaster, but stuck here in Niarak as a bodyguard’s secretary, how demeaning,” she thought reluctantly but proceeded upstairs.
Reaching the door, she noticed it was ajar. Peeking through the gap, she caught a glimpse of Scarlet and Flynn.
Scarlet was saying, “I held a meeting this morning. We’ll finalize the details of the villa project in the next few days and then we can start bidding for construction.”
Flynn nodded, “You’re in charge, I won’t interfere.”
“Wow, I never thought I’d handle such a big project. It’s quite nerve-wracking.”
“Thankfully, our staff from other real estate firms have solved many problems for me.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll make Orco Real Estate grow and strive to hit the Fortune 500,” Scarlet said with a laugh, her face blooming like a flower.
At that moment, Molly saw something that shocked her.
Flynn was seated comfortably while Scarlet sat boldly on the desk, her hand playing with the buttons on Flynn’s collar, an intimate smile on her face.
Molly frowned, thinking, “Are they that close? Isn’t Scarlet Madeline’s cousin? Flynn divorced Madeline and is now with her cousin?”
The next moment, her eyes widened in shock as Scarlet leaned forward, her lips meeting Flynn’s.
As their lips touched, Flynn’s hands tightened around Scarlet’s waist, pulling her onto his lap in a swift motion.
